Well, at least it wasn't "potato" and he isnt the vice president, so he can get away with it :)
loll Out on the first word...Poor Raul
I'm trying to decide my [appropriate for BWW] favorite Raul moment of the weekend. Spelling Bee was great, but seeing him be mobbed by dozens of middle schoolers from Miami at the stagedoor Saturday night was definitely priceless.
Oooh, wow, that sounds intense.
The alliteration itself is intense. Actually experiencing it... woah.
I'm actually worried about bringing my mom to the stage door. She really wants me to speak Spanish with him.
Ooh, are you fluent?
I used to be semi-fluent in high school, but I had to skip my senior year of high school and pick it back up in college, which was death to my skills because I had learned it so late in life to begin with. I probably would have gotten there if I had studied straight through. Now I understand it fairly well, but wouldn't speak well at all if I tried. I sort of blame the high school curriculum structure, though, because they taught in English, making it much less ingrained, I think. In college they teach in Spanish.

This past week while my mom was visiting, I dragged her to see Company. I wasn't sure if she would like it or not, but she enjoyed it. Raul was of course fabulous, and it was great to see the show again. They are selling these cube things that were opening night gifts and he said he looks frightening in the picture. Whatever, Raul.
By the way, the shoes from te casan are awesome. I was talking about how great they were with all the girls and Raul just had this suckered look on his face. It is my absolute new favorite store in the world. Everyone should go (even though they are not donating money to Freinds in Deed anymore). I'm hoping they partner up again in the future.
Are the cube thingies drawings? I think I heard something about pictures that were involved in opening night gifts.
He said it was a picture of the cast. From where I sat it looked blue, so I'm assuming it's just from the same photoshoot/theme as all the posters and ads. It's like, clear on all sides, but just the one picture you can see through it, like a snowglobe or something.
I'm picturing a snowglobe with like, little tiny versions of the cast floating around inside, and even though that is SO not what it is, it's making me laugh entirely too hard.
Somehow I almost like that idea better. And I can see myself buying a Raul snowglobe.
I'm just about fluent in Spanish, but I could by no means pass for a native considering that I can't roll my r's. Faced with Raul, I'd be proud if I got an "hola" out.
That would mean they would have to create little Raul confetti to put into the snowglobes.
That image amuses me far more than it should.
I understand waaaay more Spanish than I ever trust myself to speak to a native speaker. Unless the native speaker is 3, in which case, we're on the same intelligence level.
lol, Raul confetti. Sounds like my desk. I believe in the benefits of clutter, so my desk (as several of you have seen) is filled with piles of odds and ends, many of which are Company related because I haven't yet decided what to do with various flyers and things I've gotten in the mail. Couple that with the Playbills and ticket stubs that mark my desk as belonging to an avid theatergoer and it could be its own freaking snowglobe. A Company one would just fit with the like, herd of little Bobbys. I should really put some of that stuff away, but I'm just too lazy to figure out what's really worth saving.
A lot of familiar faces in here, lol! I just got the Company cast recording in the mail, so I finally get to here Raul other than in Chess. I also got tickets for late April. Emcee has single handedly peaked my interest in this Raul character, so I'll keep you posted on my thoughts.
Score. Glad to do so; he's deserving of peaked interest.
He definitely is. Enjoy the wonderfulness!
...I want a Raul snowglobe. Or a Raul cut-out. Or both.
hehe. Raul snowglobe.
But...if you shake it, what comes out? :-o

....Chess figures
:)
? Life size Raul cut-out? Where do I sign up?
Hm, I wonder how I'd fly a cut-out back to MN with me. I suppose I'd have to buy it its own seat.
K, quick update - I am in love with "Marry me a Little"!!
Raul does a wonderful job with that number. I'm so excited to be seeing the show - this weekend (finally)!
MotorTink- I think that's my favorite song in the show! Well, that and Being Alive. But it's my favorite song on the cd, definitely.
You could put the cutout in baggage. It's not like it needs air, or anything. I really want one now.
