Because having a Raul avatar makes you an instant expert in all his personal preferences...
He doesn't go to every opening night on Broadway, so he was probably just taking advantage of the fact that he could make it to this one on his night off.
I kind of wonder why Sunday openings aren't more common, since they'd make it easier for a good portion of the Broadway community to attend.

okay, I'm definetly not claiming to be an expert on anything. I'm just saying that most of the people I know in the theater business see events like those as a fun thing to do on your "off" time. Its not like he was attending a seminar on how to do your own taxes
Having a Raul avatar simply is a mark of exceedingly good taste. I actually thought misschung's point was well taken.
I think making assumptions about his methods of relaxation and how he spends his downtime is taking liberty. Maybe your own "friends in the theatre business" like to relax surrounded by media and New York big wigs, but my friends in the theatre business like to spend their time off anywhere BUT the theatre.
I'm sure the fact that Legally Blonde and Company share the same PR firm has *nothing* to do with why he showed up to this opening night, but none of the other shows this season.

ok. sorry
I mean this is a message board, I wasn't going to CNN to leak info that Raul loves spending his time off going to show premieres. I was just making a speculation - didn't mean to offend anyone.
I really think she was just saying that it's a bit presumptious to make that kind of assumption, when there very well could have been other reasons for his appearance at the opening. I mean, other things are possible, you know?
Okay?
Okay.
Moving on!

I like the swanky tie a lot!
So do I.
I know it's weird, but I love ties. I wish it weren't construed as totally weird for girls to wear them... because I would.

I know what you mean. I don't have the right body to wear them, but a girl I went to hs with did all the time and she looked great. My mom did occassionally back in the 80s too, hehe
I am also partial to suspenders on men:
Every once in a while the sales girls in Tommy Hilfiger wear loosely tied ties, and it looks really cool.
I don't think I'm bold enough to go for the tie other than when I borrow my brother's ties and wear them around the house. He's the most fashionable straight 18-year-old I know, and for his birthday, he wanted ties. I had so much fun picking out the ones I got him.
... what a weird thing to enjoy.
I think a tie can be hot on a woman, esp. with a sleek fedora type hat thing.
A what hat?
That picture you posted didn't show up, Emcee...but I definitely am a big fan of ties. I'm actually really a perfectionist when it comes to ties, like if it is too short or too long or the knot isn't just right I have to re-tie it. I'm not like that about most other things, but my tie's gotta be perfect.
misschung, I actually just looked at Raul's website for the first time today, and I looove that picture.
I've come to my conclusion about Raul, having seen him twice live and listened to a few of his works many times. I want him to be my cuddle buddy. Not in a sexual way like I feel about Adam, but just to lay around with all day, watch movies, and cuddle. Don't know why, but when I think of Raul that is what comes to mind.
I like hats, but they don't really like me as much. I rarely look good in them.
Go to Getty Images and search his name, gumbo; it's the first picture.

I actually look good in hats - but I never wear them. Mostly because I would look insane wearing a nice, expensive hat with jeans to work. But I wish people still wore hats
I love the picture on his homepage - complete with the Rent program
MotorTink-I totally agree. I think Raul would be a fantastic cuddle buddy. Yay.
Honestly, I wouldn't want to just cuddle with him. But cuddling is good, obviously.
Does anyone still wear a hat?
I'll drink to that!

haha!
Thanks, siren! I was waiting for someone to pick up on that.
And one for Mahler!
