Hah. So he did! Well...kind of.

If it weren't for my horse... I wouldn't have spent that year in college. I'm going to repeat it, because... it bears repeatance.
I love how you love Lewis Black, and Steeley Dan. And yay Mano card.

It's okay, you have other fun stuff!

I just read (well, skimmed) the NOVEL you guys wrote last night. I have nothing to add, seeing as I've never had the opportunity or courage to even begin to befriend an actor, which is fine with me. Interesting points, though.
As for the fangirl accusations...it's really unfair for people to make such harsh judgements. Mano's MySpace comments are mostly respectful, too-- Where are these ideas of fan clubs coming from? It makes no sense.
That's awesome, Mandi! He's amazing. I want a card. Hmmm..
"Fan" has developed, for some, a negative connotation -- not even really with fellow fans who sometimes think others have gone too far, but with "elders" and such who look down on the whole idea.
And... as for truly befriending an actor -- as opposed to just forming a friendly connection -- in my personal experience, it wasn't something I went after, or pursued. It just happened, so it didn't really take "courage" on my part. I thought a lot of like, why it was happening and stuff, but I realized that it was okay, and that I should just enjoy it and go with it. But, I didn't push initiating it, or anything like that -- I didn't try to make it become anything. It just worked out, and I'm really grateful for that.

I understand that "fan" has negative connotations and that people look down upon it. It's just so frustrating. I know that sounds really naive or whatever, but it is!
I'm glad that your "friendships" have worked out, however they came to be.

No, I get what you're saying. It's frustrating because you're like "no, that's not me!" and others are like "pot meet kettle, you pinhead."
I dunno. For a while, I'd talk to people about it and be like "I'm scared. I don't understand. What am I doing? Why are we doing this? Why is this happening? WHAT DO I DO?!" And people would tell me that it's okay, because they're people too, and have the same ability to see things in you that any other person who becomes your friend does, and that I should just accept what I was being given for as long as it's being given to me -- but I was really self conscious about it. It took me a long time to feel comfortable calling it a friendship, though, just 'cause it's not a term I really take lightly.
I'm also like, severely self-conscious about accidentally letting it seem like I totally *expected* it to happen, and think I deserve it, or whatever, because I absolutely don't look at it that way.
Wow, so not Mano-related.

Just to clarify from before, I didn't mean courage in the sense of aggressive pursuit. I'm kind of shy, especially around people I admire, so it takes courage to say anything at all. Bad word choice. Oops!
I would imagine you're just as deserving of this friendship as any other friendship. Give yourself a break. :)

Congrats Chica! My mom also finished her first year of grad school this week.
I'm so happy that I'm done with school. I had my last final on Monday...
Yay Chica! I'm officially done as well, but the stress level hasn't fallen yet. I have NOTHING to do and that upsets me. I need a job.

I don't like it. I need to be occupied. Usually I love being lazy, but... I'm not in a state that's helped at ALL by being unoccupied right now.
ha, I love that BWW had a party!
Mano doesn't match. :-P
