I reaaaaaally don't need another net addiction. I'd probably have to force myself to create an account and then NEVER do anything with it. We'll see. Anthony does e-mail, so he's not totally lost to MySpace, and Adam's not responsive ANYWAY.
I love efficiency. That's a lovely attribute.
I like him more and more every day!

oh, this is going to go so well.
"Hi, Mano. I think you should record a solo CD. Also, can I give you a hug?"

You should add a 'lol'.

I can go to his concert! Too bad it's so far away.
That sounds like a perfect thing to say, Em.

Posted: 3/3/06 at 6:57pmHe seems to be very huggable.

He DOES. But I'm so not one of those people who asks if I can have a hug. My friend has to ask Adam once if he would mind giving me a hug.
Who's the new hugger, Tim Howar, right? Mano should go around hugging everyone.

I always get shy asking people for hugs...usually they don't mind...I hope, lol. I've asked Hugh Jackman and he didn't mind, Jeff Goldblum and Greg Jbara both have just hugged me on their own, lol.
How about:
"Mano- I realize that you are apparently engaged but I don't see how something can't be arranged."
Kidding of course.

But he's not!
"I realize I'm 10 years (maybe more!) younger than you, but..."
I've never asked myself; I've had someone ask on my behalf once. Usually I just sort of hope that I will be hugged, via... telepathy? I mean, if you ask, they usually don't mind at ALL, but I feel awkward.
Right now, I just need to hope I can manage not to mispronounce his name. THEN I'd feel stupid.
#433re: The Officially Official Manoel Felciano Love Thread
Posted: 3/3/06 at 7:21pmI'd feel silly asking for a hug.
#434re: The Officially Official Manoel Felciano Love Thread
Posted: 3/3/06 at 7:23pmI am so used to saying Manoel as if it's like a man, even though it's a soft "a". So if I see him again I'll have to make sure I pronounce it correctly.

Posted: 3/3/06 at 7:25pmYeah. It's just like I could never get myself to accentuate properly when I took Spanish for all of those years in high school and then in college (I've FINALLY finished the requirement!). I know it's Mah-no, pronounced like "mono" when you'd say something like... "monotone," but I just sort of naturally make it too... well, stupidly American. "Mano" like.... "mango." Or something. hah.

LOL really?
I've been pronouncing it wrong! That's what I get for taking French
#437re: The Officially Official Manoel Felciano Love Thread
Posted: 3/3/06 at 7:26pmWell, I'll look at it this way, calling him Man-oh instead of Mah-no is a lot better than saying "OH MY GAHH IT'S...TOBY!!!!"

Posted: 3/3/06 at 7:27pmTrue. It's not like I did it to his face, though, so it's okay.
#439re: The Officially Official Manoel Felciano Love Thread
Posted: 3/3/06 at 7:27pmhehehe That's true. I'm constantly reminding myself that it's mah not man.

Well, this is a way to make heads spin! hah. I'll probably like, bite my tongue and call him NOTHING.
It bugs me when people call actors by their character names. At Chitty people would always go "OMG CARACTACUS!" It was ok if they were like... five-year-olds, but... no.
ANYWAY, obviously people mispronounce his name all the time, and he can laugh it off. I don't think saying "Man-oh" is exactly totally warping his name; it's just not getting the right accent.
#441re: The Officially Official Manoel Felciano Love Thread
Posted: 3/3/06 at 7:29pmHe seems to really want people to pronounce is name correctly, seeing as how he took the time to sound it out on his page. And also said in an interview how people always say FelIciano. Poor thing.

FelIciano is so common, I can definitely see people just going that way naturally. I thought it WAS Feliciano for a while, and that I just kept seeing typos online. I didn't look that carefully most of the time.
ugh, I feel so ridiculous, but I guess it's the novelty. I mean, not to like... trivialize him because he's a wonderful talent, but it's like getting a new toy. When you've been seeing someone perform a lot for a couple of years, or something, you fall into that bizarre familiarity... and almost... feeling of entitlement? You just get so used to seeing them. It's still exciting, but in a different way, I think. I find that with people I've become comfortable around, I don't have this conversation with myself about what I'm going to say, or how stupid I'm going to feel if I do or say x, y and z. I feel like I've stepped back four years.

HOLY SH*T 4 minutes! He really does respond promtly!
I sent Mano a message asking if he's ever considered recording a solo album.
His response:
"uh yeah actually I never really had the stones to do it, but the support and encouragement recently has been overwhelmingly positive. so yes it's in the works. Possibly live from the upcomign Joes' gig."

Doesn't he have a show in like... twenty minutes? What's he doing online?
Anyway, yay!
Ok, now I really wish I had a MySpace.

Posted: 3/3/06 at 7:40pmThat's quite impressive. I also love that one of the blogs he put up today said something about him trying to answer people but for everyone to be patient since he's so busy. YAY for him responding.

I hope he's not like... home sick or something! Since everyone in NYC appears to be sick lately.
Iheartheatre, write him back and ask him what he's doing online now. tsk, tsk...
I hope he never comes here, because he'll hate me. I'm in such a silly mood.
