Me too, Bohemian.
Were you still wowed by it when you saw it with Secada the first time, Em?
I love your signature, by the way. Four days! *freaks out a little*

He was horrible in Grease. But then again, that whole production was just awful.
But that production of Cabaret was simply fantastic. My mom STILL goes on about it.

By everything about the production. Mendes is a genius. You know those experiences people talk about where they say theatre can transport you? I had never experienced anything TRULY atmospheric like that. I remember looking at my mom after, and going "that's it?" I didn't know what to do with myself when it was over. I was so... oddly shocked?
I already knew Adam had been cast and the extension was already in place at that point, so I knew I'd be going back.

This is me almost missing a paper drop-off deadline.
Hasta luego!

I agree with you, em. It was a truly unique theatrical experience. The atmopshere in the theater, the simple fact that they set it up as a real Cabaret, everything transported you into the story. Which made it that more chilling.
And I REALLY liked the revised ending. It left me speechless.

If I could put one show back on Broadway so that I could see it, it would probably be Cabaret.
Do any of you guys have pictures of Studio 54 from when Cabaret was playing?

Posted: 3/28/06 at 3:54pmThat's another one that I'm sad that I missed.

I would not be able to choose. I've always so wanted to see a professional production of A Chorus Line, but that's coming back anyway.
In terms of things I missed, the Cabaret revival is way up there. Also, had I known anything really about Sondheim in 2002, I would've wanted to live at the Kennedy Center that summer.
