These are a few of the Showstopper suggestions that I remember from the murdered thread:
WSS – Tonight, Maria Carousel – Soliloquy, If I Loved You Sound of Music - Edelweiss Man of La Mancha – The Impossible Dream Fiddler On The Roof – If I Were A Rich Man (yes, really!) Showboat – Make Believe Music Man – Trouble Follies – Too Many Mornings, Could I Leave You? (I think I’d just curl up and die of delight if Raúl sang this)
I think there is a good chance he will sing "Soliloquy" on May 20th. The only other show stoppers (in my own opinion...) in CAROUSEL are "If I Loved You" and "You'll Never Walk Alone" and I can't see either Raul or Kristin singing that chestnut.
There's this song I've been fairly well obsessed with lately called "I Was Here" from Ahren's and Flaherty's The Glorious Ones that is about incredible passion for acting and wanting to leave a lasting legacy. I'd love to hear Raul do it because of the subject matter, although vocally I doubt his version could compare in my mind to Brian Stokes Mitchell's.
Now, mother always said that whenever you hear a strange, frightening, and potentially life-threatening ghostly chant coming from the dark woods that there's one thing that you should do: Not wake the others and go investigate it alone...
Yeah, but like, winter coat or something lighter? See, dilemma. If I wear a winter coat and I get too warm, what if I'm too cold without it? I love Spring, but sometimes it's just too complicated!
Obviously my brain is just too overwhelmed by academia right now, so in attempts to compartmentalize and keep me sane, this is what it's choosing to focus on.
