Is anyone watching this? Cool opening to the Bowie/Queen "Under Pressure"
I'm a huge fan of Ben Folds, and he being a judge is reason enough for me to watch.
Currently watching!
Judas - love the pic, haha
Stock, check out some of the college scene in your area for their acapella groups. It can be amazing.
I can do without these judges. I just like to hear these guys perform.
The ladies of BYU (a couple of which I am convinced are lezzies) singing "Think" by Aretha Franklin. The lead girl's got pipes but I am not really sure about the backtrack sounds from the rest of the group.
Ouch. Those guys were a bit off key.
Not a good song to pick. So many better Beatles songs from better Beatles albums.
Really for me, the only redeeming factor of this show is Ben Folds. He's the only judge that seems to know what he's talking about.
Nick Lachey lost his relevance 5 years ago. Why oh why is he the host?
Also, that woman was scaring me with her facial expressions during 'Dancing Queen'.
LOL, the Maxx Factor group was good, but I know what you mean about the facial expressions.
It bugs me when I see women that are about my age that do that short hair frumpy look though and end up looking about 10 years older than they are.
I hate they are forcing us to root for these contestants on tragedies or 'hardships'.
I always hate that. Like with Danny Gokey last year on AI.
Anyway, it was a fun show!
Boy, that Pussycat Dolls woman is as dumb as a box of rocks...I only watched half the show - her insipid commentary just annoyed me too much to hang the whole two hours.
The show was a surprising bore.
I was disappointed with most of the singing, a lot was off key and out of synch.
The female barbershop group was a disappointment, I was rooting for the older gals. Hated their selection and arrangement.
Judges' comments were mostly blah, especially the female's. Ben Folds had a few good moments and comments. With the exception of the boys' frat group and their Beatle song, the groups weren't that entertaining.
LOL, danmag. I didn't even know who that judge was.....the only one I actually knew who he was was Ben Folds.
I only missed one group, but am rooting for them because the rest of the groups are way too churchey and jesusey! ICK! I might have rooted for the older women, until they promised to do "Rehab" tonite.
Go Beezlebub!
The whole thing was idiotic. It was better last year when they were choirs singing Christmas Carols...and somehow less religious.
LOL, doodle! And yet, I'll still watch the dumb thing.
I'm getting ready to watch it now for the first time.
I adore Ben Folds. Not sure how I feel about the show in general yet. I got bored during several groups. The whole hour should just be the Bubs and Nota (?). And Ben Folds.
Who the heck is that girl judge? She is painful to watch....

Ben Folds delights me. (Well, his last album didn't, but aside from that.) And at least this week it seems that the female judge isn't quite so inane as last week, when all of her "criticism" came down to her being all "ooh, wow, you sounded like instruments! without instruments!"
Who the heck is that girl judge?
The female judge is Nicole Scherzinger. She is the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls.
She's actually much classier than I expected her to be.
And I am falling in LURVE with Ben Folds.
