"Representative Grijalva has FINALLY been sworn into Congress."
Speaker Mike Johnson has said for weeks that once Congress was back in session she would be sworn in immediately. He also stated Nancy Pelosi did the exact same things years ag when she was Speaker. Amazing you think somebody should be sworn in when Congress is not in session.

"House has voted to end shutdown."
Should have never been shut down, thanks Chuck.

For trying to salvage people's health insurance?
Pre-Presidency Quotes (during Obama Administration)
In 2011 and 2013, Trump repeatedly stated that the president is responsible for a government shutdown:

Question. Can Congress debate now and hope to come to agree on salvaging health insurance, the answer is yes. Did the government need to shut down and people suffer, the answer is no. It would be nice to believe Chuck was being noble and fighting for people. Sadly, I think like many others he did it because he got so much sh*t from progressive wing of his party when he voted for basically the same CR in March of this year. Will Congress come to agreement on health care in January, I highly doubt it. There will either be another shutdown, or they will kick the issue down the road for another few months.

Trump was wrong then and is wrong now. It is easy to open your big mouth when you have no responsibility -lol. Before the shutdown happened, what was to be discussed. A "clean" CR was passed in the House, and all Schumer had to do was vote for it again like he did in March. This gave Congress once again more time to do its job and address health care and other issues. They have until the end of January; the clock is ticking. Maybe one day Congress will surprise me and get something done. Sadly, I doubt it.
My insurance premiums are set to triple starting in 2026. This shutdown shows Congress doesn't care about the average American. I still say there would never be another shutdown if Congress wasn't getting paid during that time, too. My disdain for politicians remains at an all-time high.

Since the ACA passed, Republicans have repeatedly tried to repeal, defund, and/or destroy it.
For years they have said they are working on a healthcare plan to replace it.
And what does the public have to show for it? Nothing.
It is hard to believe their current hectoring will lead to anything different. If Republicans truly cared about affordable healthcare, it would already exist. So far they have been all hat and no cattle.

Dumpster & Republicans have never come forth with what their plan is to replace the ACA.
They don't have a plan to replace anything regarding health care. They want people to die, clearly. Look at that they just did regarding SNAP benefits, they fought against giving them out three different times because they don't care if people starve or die. An entire party of Sociopaths is quite something to observe, but after this they won't be in power after midterms or 2028 for a long, long time.
People don't forget when you f*ck with their ability to put food on the table.

I believe two out of three US Senators are millionaires so don't think they would worry that much about not getting paid.

Nope. The answer is clearly, "No".
Either from ignorance, or a deliberate turning of a blind eye, you have neglected to incorporate the adjective "affordable". Did you also turn a blind eye to Trump's half-baked solution?
We have a program in place that works. Trump doesn't want it because it was O'bama's idea. He and his a$$-licking lap dogs don't care about America or its citizens. Never has, never will. He's a textbook megalomaniac.

Trump in a Meet the Press interview earlier this year on healthcare.
Welker: Do you have an actual plan at this point for health care?
Trump: Yes. We have concepts of a plan that will be better.
Welker: Still just concepts? Do you have a fully developed plan?
The answer, as it has been since his first term, is nope.

Trump's goal has never been to serve the people, be it healthcare, SNAP, etc. He's extremely simple-minded. His only concerns are with personal wealth, personal power and personal fame. Full-stop.
