The eyebrows have to be the worst. What are these actresses thinking injecting all of that poison into their foreheads? Who wants to look surprised all of the time?! Not only is it unappealing...it's very, very obvious that they've had work done.

What disturbs me most about some of the younger actresses and singers is the excessive number of collagen lip implants. They get "pumped" a few weeks before each major award show and show up unable to read a teleprompter because they haven't broken in the new set of lips.
Bumblebee-stung lips are OK as long as they look natural.

They never look natural unless they really are. It's obvious when collagen has been injected to plump up lips, because the "bow" in the center of the upper lip disappears. It looks like they've been punched.

My first thought when I saw a poster for the movie was, "Oh my god... the knock-off of Sex and the City."
All of the girls on the posters for this movie look JUST like the girls from SATC. Anyone else think so?
How much it looked like SATC made me lose any desire I could have had to see this movie...

fflagg--While I've been championing Annette Bening for Desiree in Night Music, I never thought about Cloris Leachman as Mme. Armfeldt.
But I love it! She would be wonderful, especially with Annette.

best12bars- When I saw Annette Bening in "Running With Scissors" I remember thinking that her age was starting to show. It didn't matter to me because I still think she's beautiful and a fabulous actress. My point is, do you think she did something after that movie? I think she looks the same as she did in 2006, but just curious what you think...

I forgot to mention that as much as I love Annette, no one will ever be as good as Joan, Norma, and Rosalind. Joan would eat Eva Mendes for breakfast....

She doesn't exactly look botoxed beyond belief in this picture... http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3601306624/nm0000906
Nicole Kidman, on the other hand...

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Honestly, with Annette Bening, it could just be very bad makeup and hair people... and the fact that she's very underweight now.
She looks completely washed out and hardened and (as I said before) carved out of a light balsa wood. She's been "neutralized" and chiseled.
A bad makeup job and a horrible "straw" hairstyle could be the answer. I just think she looks unrecognizable in the photos and clips I've seen of her in "The Women."
If it's not cosmetic surgery, she needs to fire anyone who comes near her who worked on this movie.

I'm glad it's bad. Let it be a lesson.

Tell Diane English to stay the hell away from All About Eve, Mildred Pierce, The Apartment, The Philadelphia Story, My Man Godfrey, It Happened One Night and all the other "good ones" she might sit around saying...
"Isn't this the BEST movie? I think I'll redo it in Modern Bland!"
It's like someone buying a classic Victorian house, and then gutting it for empty, boxy walls, grey cement floors and stucco ceilings.... because they think they know what "taste" is.

Given the general contempt that this film has been meeting with, not only critically but apparently at the box office too, I doubt we'll need to worry about Diane English defiling too many more Hollywood classics.

I do love me some Debi Mazar though, but I won't go see the film. I'll wait until it's on tv to watch her.

Seeing Burn After Reading this Thursday. I will rent The Women. I love Nicole Kidman but I just can't look at her anymore. She destroyed her face. Although I saw her recently somewhere and it wasn't as bad.

Blue, I don't really want to see it either, but I don't get to see Debi very often, so I will watch this on tv.
She's as nice as she is cute, too!

If you MUST remake The Women, this is how it ought to be done:

In the late 1970s, the talk was to remake the film with Barbra Streisand/Roz; Faye Dunaway/Joan; Sally Field/Norma.
THAT would have worked.
In spades.
