yeah, and how in Hell did My Favorite Things ever become a Christmas song? I have NEVER understood that.....
From the "brown paper packages tied up with strings" and "snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes." Makes no sense. I remember when Lorrie Morgan released it on her Christmas album and I was all, "wtf???"
As I drove Truman to the vet today, the Christian radio station that I listen to when I am not boycotting them for something stupid they said or did that prompted me to write them an e-mail expressing my concern about said action played "The Christmas Shoes." At first, it gave me a good chuckle, having read this thread.
Then, I started to think about the deejay's intro the song, which said that a lot of people request the song. The people, apparently, say that it makes them cry. The deejay, at first, wondered why people would so often request a song that makes them cry, but she realized that it was the "good kind of cry."
Now, what I really want to know is do the people who request the song actually heed its message and do something generous for someone in need during the Christmas season or is it simply enough to listen to the song and cry?!?
THANK GOD. I thought I was the only person who hated "Christmas Shoes", and that I was a horrible person. I still might be a horrible person, but at least I'm not the only one.
Seriously...if you were dying, would you want shoes? If my child came home with those, of all things, right before I died, all hell would break loose.
Plus, shoes do not make you beautiful. I hardly think anyone really cares what the corpse has on her feet.
Save your money for something useful, kid.

Here you go. Listen to the sappy "Christmas Shoes" all you want.
Sappy Christmas music.
My songs were not Christmas oriented so I deleted them
Santa Claus is comming to town really freaks me out.
"He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake": Hes stalking you..
"He know if you've been bad or good so be good for goodness sake": What's he gonna do if you're not? Kill you?
I just listened to "Christmas Shoes". What the crap was that?
What is unsung in the song is that the kid was buying Manolo Blahniks that he was planning to wear himself after his mother died.
"Christmas Shoes" Never heard it before. Just listened now. Never want to hear again. It is sappier than Gretl Von Trapp in "The Sound of Music (film)" saying "It makes me want to cry". Blecchhhh!
