thats actually a really good point! *thinks back to last season when Bree came to Danielle's rescue and it was incredibly touching* And I agree, that was the one part of the show that was rather weak... I mean it didn't destroy the episode by any means, but it was the one part that was just like... "ok, move along now". Its just too predictable for susan.
Oh, and can I just say, this actually worked I thought within the context of the show and characters, but how STUPID was it for carolyns husbande to actually listen and ask carolyn to let all the kids and older people go!? I was like "way to make her want to just shoot them all just because he asked her not to!" Again, it worked, because his character seemed that stupid anyway, but it was just frustrating haha

Are you SURE the woman who did the shooting was the teacher? The woman was a kids' mother in the same class as Caroline's son -- remember Caroline's line about Jordan still having a mommy? I don't rememember any indication that the woman was the teacher.

I thought the episode was excellent, mostly because I got lulled into thinking it was safe and nothing would happen. I mean when the episode was 40 minutes in and it seemed like it was Laurie Metcalf just playing kooky and I was a little annoyed because I didn't feel through most of the episode there was any tension or threat and then BOOM they turned up the heat and the episode drew to its thrilling and moving climax.
The more Susan is on, the less interesting she becomes. I agree with the previous comments that she just looked foolish picking up the magaphone and it was a really dumb move for someone so concerned about her daughter. It didn't make me laugh at all. Plus, she just looks like an idiot chastizing her daughter. We all know Julie is an amazing kid who will need lots of therapy as an adult. It makes Susan look like a real idiot and hard to garner sympathy. She also loses points for ditching her comatose boyfriend.
I also realize that the best writing and dialogue is pretty much handed to Huffman. If I were on that show I would be pissed.
I think Edie Britt is far more interesting than Susan and deserves more screen time.
It was weird to hear Bree referred to as Mrs. Hodge. For a second, I thought who are the kids talking to?
Laurie Metcalf is an amazing actress. I hope she gets an Emmy.
Also, I think the audience experienced a parallel process with Lynette. I think we all complained and hated Nora and bitched about her to our friends and co-workers at the water cooler, but to see her shot was really not what we wanted. I think it was really good writing. A part me now thinks what she brought to the show in terms of dynamic tension and it will feel a little flatter without her.
I'm glad the Housewives are back with a vengeance!!! YAY!

Obviously you missed every one of the many promos for this much-hyped episode. I watched it, and I don't watch the show regularly. I was disappointed - it didn't live up to all the reviews here.

That explains it!
I do love Felicity Huffman, can't believe that's the same actress who stunk up SPEED THE PLOW all those years ago. And Laurie Metcalf can adorn my tv screen anytime.

That could be part of it, absolutely. But I still think the episode stood on it's own. I didn't really see all of the promos, so it was a pleasant surprise! I'm so happy the season is picking up.

Robbo, that's exactly right, anytime we see a glimmer of the sharpness of the first season well all get so excited and are a little grateful. I think the whole episode was well done from start to finish. I think in general the writing has been better this year. I think they could have just pretended like second season was a dream or something.
Personally, I think they need to stop introducing new characters and focus on the original players. The storylines get so extraneous and forgotten. I think we were lucky we were given enough time to develop some feelings about Nora.
The Alfre Woodard storyline still boggles my mind. It was boring from day one.

Well, RobbO... We don't know why Orson tried to kill Mike. He may believe Mike is a dangerous person. We simply don't know.

it was. and orson has absolutely no chemistry with bree, that i can tell. and it just doesn't make sense for her to be with him in the slightest. how many times does she have to learn about some secret or lie before she realizes that orson is hiding many things from her.
i think bree should dig rex back up and live with him again. at least he just liked to be walked on in high heels and wasn't a murderer.

SPOILERS
Did I misinterpret that, or are we to assume the "P" really stands for "pedophile"? The show is a COMEDY!! There is NOTHING funny about pedophilia - and if that's where they're going, after that episode last week (and you know my feelings on that) - they may have just lost me for good.

Season 2 wasn't too great. Then season started pretty slow, but last week was amazing!!!! Now with the creepy guy & the little boys...I think the show's headed back in the same direction as last season.
I thought Carlos & Gabby got back together last week....I hope we get to see more of the two of them going at it. They're hilarious!!!!

The first thing I thought when Lynette went downstairs: 'Jesus Christ, not anOTHER creepy neighbor with a hidden secret in their basement."
It's getting old.
