Wow, you're obnoxious and rude.
And the only thing on CNN is about what Simon said to Taylor and then it counteracts that by showing multiple people giving immense support to Katharine. I read multiple articles saying Clay won by a landslide prior to the finale premire and Ruben won.
Anyway, we voted, and we did all we could...we'll have to wait 'til tomorrow to find out the winner.

i am DONE. the last hour was stressfull/depressing since i could get through but i hope it helped build on what hoepefully the west can expand on. no matter what, i will ALWAYS be a fan!

Is it suppose to be some kind of surprise that Taylor is going to win? I predicted this months ago, and that he would even win by a landslide (my guess is we'll never really know the final count and theyll make it sound close)...Taylor is getting the YEE-HAW Southern vote, and if that tragedy of a Presidential election taught us anything, it was that those red states have a lot of power. When Kelly and Bucky made it so far, (and since last years winner was a country singer) it became obvious that the redneck vote was a major player here. When Kelly and Bucky got voted off, most of their votes went to that irritating clown Taylor. Add to that a good percentage of the black vote since Taylor reminds them over and over that hes the soul patrol. This is by far American Idols worst year. I prefer Kat to Taylor, but only because her first version of OTR especially was quite beautiful, and watching some spastic sideshow isnt my taste. Shes very inconsistent and is weak when it comes to lyric interpretation and therefore I see very little connection to the songs with her.

Personally, I don't think that a single contestant this year had what I think of as "star quality"...some of them had decent voices - some had great personality (my favorite combination of voice and personality was Elliot)...Paris could belt with the best of them, and Chris was good at the rock thing (and only that). Katherine is a pretty girl with a good voice (though she constantly switches from head to chest, with no mix at all), and I know it's not called American Actor - but she never connects with the lyrics at all, which really bugs me. Taylor has a decent instrument - but all that gyrating drives me crazy - its like he's having some kind of seizure up there. I think he will win simply because he has a lot of spunk and energy, but if and when he does, I hope someone forces him to watch videos of himself and gives him pointers on the fact that he should NEVER bend over at the waist while he sings (like he constantly does) - it makes him look fat and gawky.
It is a shame that there was truly no one in the competition this year who had it all - looks, great voice, great personality, and stage presence.

There's definitely room for improvement, but I think Kat has the most potential and I'm not giving up on my girl.
Not to mention the fact that I'd rather listen to her sing a lousy song in the wrong key than watch Taylor perform anything.

Shameless - I completely agree with you on that one. Taylor gives me the creeps. Kat at least can carry at tune and looks good while doing it.

Chitty dear,Please don't tell me to watch my Taste in Broadway with a member name like yours :) Actually, I vote Peisha McPhee for American Idol that lady ROCKS. Katharine is too broadway. She can be a leading lady, a tony winner but when it comes to pop singing, she always gets pitchie. "Somewhere over the rainbow" is perfection. I vote for our Wedding Singer :) At least he's not so self involved and makes people smile.

K. McPhee has a future but she has to grow up first. She needs to learn to love what she's doing. Right now she wants approval or something too much and she is scared. She is BORING to me right now, but I think she can grow. BUT, I think she was royally screwed by that awful song. I could have written her something much more compelling -- I write songs for my cat everyday.

Kat has been given the shaft by the arrangers, imo. She has some range, but songs have been placed too high for her.
WHY did they bring out that choir for either performer? It was so stupid, neither song had choir moments!! It made each song lamer than they already were.
Also, Redhot, you are so right about Kat's break in her voice. There is not a mix.
She is a bigger talent than Taylor, who is a fine singer, just not as good. His "act" has worn thin already, so how is he going to sell out venues, sell records (especially that stinker he sang last nite...OMG!)
Whatever else, that was the worst final yet on AI...I think Diana DeGarmo could've won last nite.

Doodle - ARE the songs placed too high for her? I am not a voice major, but it seems to me that the stuff sits too low for her - at least at the beginnings of the songs - maybe she just has a very limited range? Not sure, but U agree about the stupid grandstanding with the choirs on stage - what the hell was that all about? Were they trying to draw attention away from the fact that the song was just plain WRONG???
