Yeah... we met the coordinators while we were there. I'm glad it went well, there was a lot of drama right before... the original promoter backed-out 3 weeks before, and a grass roots group (Whistler locals) did a lot of last minute maneuvering to make it happen.
Nik, did you take part?
Wow, three weeks to pull everything together? Impressive. The turn-out was pretty respectable, apparently, but I hadn't heard a thing about it until after the fact, so I guess the marketing department didn't get their marbles together in time. What would it take to entice you back to Vancouver?
Not much. I'm moving in a couple of weeks, going to LA in March, so maybe in April?
Hi there! I haven't gotten started yet today, and look what time it is! Oh well, I may have to just lay around again!
No, I didn't... was going to, but I forgot.
Jane, that sounds so good. That's what I've been doing the past three days. Ahhhhhh....
My 'ege is calling me to go workout.
The sun is out, the weather relatively warm, so off I go shortly to do a nice long walk run.
Though a nice nap sounds much more appealing.
I admire your willpower. If it were not 31 degrees here and I had a bike, I would love to go for a ride. Or a walk. But that would be without the bike. Yeah.
I have a bike, but am afraid I am so out of shape, that I might not get up the hills you ride on the bike path on my own steam!
I do a five mile walk/run (mostly walk) and clear my head when I can. It helps fight the battle, but I am losing the war againt the 'ege.
No hills here. I wouldn't be able to climb them. I went for a bike ride in Wales, where there were "gently rolling hills" and could barely get up a mild incline.
Oh, you had to go suggest some exercise! Now that's in my mind. gEt out, get out!
Does cooking a chicken count as exercise? You DO have to bend down to put it in the oven, right?
Exercise?
*runs out*
Absolutely, Jane. You can do a few dead lifts while you're down there.
Cooking a chicken also counts as some arm curls I think . . . or is that eating a chicking?
Not sure.
Oh my God. I think I'm going to audition for a big budget feature. Oh my God.
thanks you guys, now I'm going out to buy a chicken. the buying, cooking and eating of the chicken will be my exercise today. What are you all doing?
Awesome Tiff! Are you going to be IN it?
When Tiff? That would be great!
And Jane - I think I have to go install a receiver at my mom's house for her, either today or tomorrow. Since my dad died, I get to help with all of these tasks (and I bought her a new receiver for her birthday/mother's day).
Other than that, workout, clean, and try to get my head clear from all of the nonsense going on these past few weeks!
Tiff, tell us more!
WHICH ONE???
Jane, I have rehearsal later for a musical showcase. I don't believe I have to dance, so walking about 10 blocks will be my exercise. HA.
TIFF-wow! get out of town!!! Tell us more!
I'm actually trembling right now, because acting's sort of been a secret love that I put way on the backburner once I got realistic about my chances. It's a feature film called "Rogue", starring Jet Li and Jason Statham, that's being filmed in Vancouver next month.

The ad said, "Boss Management is looking for individuals with the right look and the right talent to be part of a martial arts movie. The scouts are looking for Cantonese people with a good working knowledge of English, martial arts instructors and students, as well as attractive men and women. They also require look-a-likes for stand-ins, mobster types for night club and bar room scenes, and many more for special stunts and martial arts choreography. Preview experience isn't necessary."
The agent told me they're casting principle actors, stand-ins, photo doubles, extras and stunts. I doubt I'll be cast in it - I don't look like Lucy Liu and my Cantonese is basic at best. (I wonder if they made a mistake about the Cantonese thing, because Jet Li is Mandarin.) *shaking* I also know the Locations people who are working on it, so either way I'll probably be on set - I'd just rather be there as an actor or stand-in than as a PA!
*shaking*
Well ladies I am off, but Tiff, I expect details, and many of them, by the time I return!
Edit - got details - Go Tiff Go Tiff Go Tiff!!!

Das so cooooool!!!!! Break a leg :) :)
I'm off too. Be back later.
I'm supposed to get my headshot and resume in today, and then auditions start on Wednesday. They said it doesn't need to be a professional 8x10 glossy, so I just need to find a flattering snapshot.
I really don't want to start one of those, "Audition HELP!" threads, so I'm hoping that your guys's advice will suffice.
What the hell do I need in my headshot? Shoulders and up? Can my neck be obstructed? (I'm thinking of a photo Shib took of her and I at the waterfalls, DD.) If they just ask for a photo, should it be waist up or shoulders up? What should I wear? How liberal can I be in the airbrushing?
*vomits*
I say put a bag over your head. It's the only way to effectively cover all of your flaws.
That or get a body double.
I am the last one to look for here for that kind of advice.
I might contact Dame or Rath to see what they think - at least they both have some experience in this stuff (as well the other Beyootches, but this Hag - totally out of her realm of knowledge).
But, it is very exciting.
Go Tiff!
