I did too, Panda. I'm still shocked he's lasted this long.

Tom's blog this week brings up a good point though. Michael was one of the weaker contestants, but he seems to have really been paying attention to the judges' comments, and has improved leaps and bounds as a result. The fact that he made the best course on the menu says something about his real potential. His dish sounded wonderful. Had I seen it on a menu somewhere, I probably would have ordered it. I like Michael though. I was glad to see him do so well last night.

I noticed during the whole episode that Micheal wasn't acting goofy or childish like he normally did, it's an interesting transformation in his attitude that seems to be benefitting him.
This episode really made me dislike Ilan through a lot of it. He used to be completely not involved with the drama, even with Marcel, but now he comes off to me as irate and easily annoyed.
It seems like that the chefs who were my favorites in the beginning of the competition are becoming the ones I dislike the most.

Ilan did not seem like the type of person who would provoke an incident. Right from the beginning, Marcel has been confrontational. There's also an interview with Ilan on Andy's blog (on the Bravo website) where he says there were more of Marcel's antics not shown on tv. After living with him, I'm sure his nastiness just built up and became too much for everyone else to keep quiet about.

Blueroses, of course our crushes on Ilan are still acceptable. We dont have to work with him. Maybe Michael was more subduded since he just had a tooth ripped out of his head lol.
Of course Ilan would say there was so much worse from Marcel we never saw. That would justify his explosions. It's funny how Elia likes Marcel and gets along with him fine, and she worked with him. hmmm....
I don't have any sympathy for Marcel, despite the sympathy the producers are trying to stir in me...he needs to be able to learn to deal with people; if people are actually getting angry at him, then he should leave them alone. If he kept to himself, noone would bother him.
I especially don't have any sympathy for him because he's said from the beginning that he wasn't going to try to be friends with anybody, and he hasn't made any effort to fix the situation. If he's not trying to make friends, why should I feel bad when he doesn't? He has no responsibility to become buddies with anyone, but it's in his best interest for people to like him or at least not dislike him, so I think he's an idiot.
Ilan's comment was stupid, but so is Marcel. Sam's outbursts never bothered me. And Elia likes everybody (heck, she liked Otto), so I don't take her opinion much into account :0)

To be fair to Marcel, he didn't seem to know that he was being an a-hole unlike Steven from Season 1 who was just obnoxious.

I did! Good episdoe. I really like Elia and I hope she wins. She seems to be the only one who dosen't cause and drama.
How about the preview for next weeks show? What happened?
(spoilers i guess)
i'm guessing that it has something to do with a prank that they pull on Marcel(most likely cutting hair?)
The teaser for next week certainly makes you want to watch.
I'm progressively starting to hate Cliff more and more. Especially after tonight's episode. When the judges asked him what he thought of his service once they got there, Cliff said something along the lines of "I'm waiting to hear what you have to say." What an imature answer. "I'm just going to keep my mouth shut, let you answer the question for me, and not admit my shortcommings."

Elia seems to be the only one not creating any drama. Which is why I like her.
Wow, what an episode. And I can only imagine what happens next week.
Cliff and Ilan have done a complete 180 in my eyes since the beginning of the season. They're unprofessional and their talent, which they have, doesn't make up for it. I hope Elia wins.

I feel that same way about them JACXR71. Cliff used to be my favorite but after tonights show I kinda find him to be rude. I now want Elia to win. She has been one of my favorites since the show started.
I've disliked Cliff ever since the night Mia got booted. He is arrogant and he wouldn't listen to any of her valid suggestions.
i honestly am not really into any of the chefs right now, if i had to choose my personal pick for the winner he would have to be either Marcel or Elia... the other three are huge brats...

Wow, I can't believe I've overlooked this thread for so long, tonights episode was great, but what is going to happen next week?!
My two favorite chefs all along have been Marcel and Elia, I want them to pull through and make it to the end together. Elia is just so sweet and reminds me so much of that charming personality that Uli had on last seasons Runway. I don't understand the nastiness all of the other chefs have gotten lately, especially Ilan and Sam towards Marcel, who still has continued going strong and not freaking on them yet surprisingly.
I also liked Mia, Betty, and used to like Ilan, but his personality is really coming through and not for the better it seems...
Personally, I'm not really bothered by anyone's personality on the show that much...Cliff sort of bores me with the way he talks about food, and so does Marcel, but I don't really dislike either of them enough to actually want either of them to lose, and quite frankly I don't begrudge anyone for going after Marcel enough to make me hate them.
My favorites are Sam and Elia, mostly because I usually like their ideas and their plates usually look good to me, and their food always seems sophisticatd without being snobby. I love the way Ilan talks about food, but he really hasn't proved to be much of a leader in my opinion, like Sam and Elia have. Marcel's plates are always too weird for me, and of everyone left in the competition he probably has had the most problems with the quickfire challenges. And Cliff, like I said, is just boring.
I am SO excited about next week, that preview was CRAZY.

Yet for some reason Steven entertained me. Marcel just comes across as very bizarre with no social awareness.
His "rap" was hilarious. lol.
and his hair is ridiculous.
Not too sure about next week's episode. Could amount to a whole bunch of nothing.

I missed the previews for next week. Last season was so much better.

I just read Lee Anne's blog on Bravo. I can't wait! She writes:
So there are five left, and the last elimination before Hawaii is coming up. I can’t wait for you all to see next week’s episode. Reality television at it’s best (and worst).

Lauren, I loved Lee Anne! She and Harold were my favorites.
Padma is as bad as Katie Lee Joel. They need to find someone else next season.
Read BWoP's recap of last week's ep. It's spot-on.
That said, go Elia!
Yeah, that would be TWoP...pre-coffee post.
