The Mohawk was such a jerk. Also, what's the point of a mohawk if you're not going to spike it? It was limp and greasy.
That could be why he was such a jerk.
Biggest shock last night was Ilan saying he had a girlfriend. Totally threw my gaydar out of whack.
The promo from last week scared me SO MUCH! What's going to happen? It looked pretty major.

The preview didn't seem to show as much shocking content as what the promos on tv have been saying on commercials. They clearly show a man speaking to a contestant off-camera and says they have to go home for violating something, but this time it doesn't seem to be for breaking actual rules in the show like Keith did on Runway. This time it seems somebody just did an immature act that is getting them canned!
Elia is totally behind this!.....
I just have to say that reality shows where people get voted off (including Top Chef) need to stop running promos for the next week showing who is left. Who are the morons on these marketing teams? SHEEESH!!!

Totally agree, BettyBoy.
Why has no one else commented on the BEST part of Wednesday's episode...Marcel's rap? I nearly peed! What's great is that he clearly wasn't joking around. Can anyone be less self aware? It was really hilarious.
Personally, I thought the rap was exceptionally well-written. That kind of stuff isn't easy to do!
I am under the impression that someone (assume Marcel) gets written on his face with magic marker or something like that...and it is Sam and Elan behind it...one of them goes home.
My dad actually thought that they, like, shaved his head while he was asleep or something. THAT would be interesting.
HAHAHAHAHA!
It would take a very deep sleep to sleep through getting your head shaved.

It's something like that...

I say they've shaved a stripe right down the middle of Marcel's Wolverine hair, or they drew a silly mean eyebrows, curled mustache, goatee combo (with permanent marker so it wouldn't wash off).
Whatever it is, it's still around when they do judges circle.
Of course, maybe it's not Marcel at all. Maybe they gave Elan a mud-mask and they judges are merely commenting that Elan's complexion is simply glowing!

Maybe shaved off his eyebrows? *shrugs* It will have to have something to do with some change of appearance to the head/upper body, as that's what the teaser this week showed.

One of my friends in college had a few too many. When he dozed off, his roommates shaved off his eyebrows completely (he didn't wake up while they were doing this). He looked ridiculous! Poor kid wore sunglasses for weeks.
I feel so bad for Marcel! Whatever they did to him, it was obviously really cruel and immature and if that's the case then I don't see what he could have POSSIBLY done (besides just not being the "cool kid" or being enough of a "nerd" for them to pick on him) for them to treat hiim that way. It doesn't seem right.
I got the impression that whatever it was affected more than one person, because Tom used the word "them," so I don't think it was something that just affected Marcel...
It seems weird that the chefs would jeopardize their standing at this point. It is bound to get the culprit(s) eliminated.

I'm envisioning fisticuffs, black eyes, and cut lips. Though a mohawk, shaved eyebrows, or magic marker would be preferable.
Speaking of foam, has anyone here actually eaten it? I did once, at Aquavit, which is the restaurant that Marcel used to work at. When I saw the foam (served in an amuse bouche), I thought it was a bacon dish, you know how the fatty part of bacon can look a little bubbly when cooked. I put it in my mouth, and blech. I swallowed it, and wondered what the heck it was that I just ate.
Which brings me to a question... The foam-laden amuse bouche was served in one of those big spoons. There were 3 different new wave appetizer items on the plate, and the presentation was just like you see on Top Chef. The center item was the foam thing, served in the large spoon. It's the large spoon that you often use in a Chinese restaurant when they serve you wonton soup.
The question is this - when they put the amuse bouche in the spoon, are you supposed to put that big spoon in your mouth to eat it? LOL. I generally don't like shoving a big spoon like that in my mouth, the exception is if it is soup.
Or, are you supposed to somehow consider the spoon just the presentation surface (like a plate), and use your fork to eat what is in the spoon? It was not finger food, given the foam.
Incidentally, I was the only person at the table who ventured to eat the foam thingy. Everyone else was turned off by the look of it, and overall, we were pretty disappointed in the restaurant.

As long as the next to go is Marcel, I'm fine. But I looooove Top Chef.

Wow, that's really twisted, blueroses!
Yeah. They probably shave Marcel's ass or something."

"maybe he had a date!"
