You won't miss me? Even a widdle bit?
Aww, of course I will! Who else will I get to pick on?
Everyone else.
So no. I won't miss you, even a widdle. Be gone! (Or buy me something pretty?)

Well...bye, then. *sniff sniff*
Okay, well maybe a teeny widdle bit, but you won't tell Mabel or #1Elphie or anyone, will you? I have a reputation to maintain.

I knew you loved me!
Right, I'm off to bed...tomorrow, Cape Cod!
Have fun without me. (As if!)
*gives Tiff something that vaguely resembles a hug*
*no strings attached, because I'm a nice person*
Have fun! I'd tell you to eat lots of fish, but that seems to be your nature anyway.
No strings attached? Have you gone soft on me?
Oh, nope. That was me accidentally squeezing my stomach absent-mindedly.
Have any of you guys been watching "Hit Me Baby One More Time"? It's my guilty pleasure. Highlight: Vanilla Ice singing "Ice, Ice Baby"; Lowlight: Vanilla Ice rapping "Survivor" (yes, the DC one).
This episode is awesome. The Knack ("My Sharona") covering Jet's "Would You Be My Girl". Nice. And the sadist in me loves watching Tommy Tutone ("867-5309") covering Blink-182's "All The Small Things".
I do need to get a lofe.
WE GOT THE TIX FOR ALANIS!!! YAY!!!
Have fun on the Cape, Ellie...should you check on-line before you ship off this morning.
Tiff, I haven't been watching HMBOMT. I was seriously contemplating the first episode, but after getting suckered into this season of American Idol, I didn't think I had it in me for it. Sounds like last night's would have been good though!...Do they all look haggard???
Bye Ellie!
YAY FOR ALANIS!
I haven't seen Hit Me, Baby... either. Sounds interesting!
Yep, groupie is indeed a (*insert Tim Meadows voice*) LAD-EY
(Although I ain't gots no huuuusband....but I guess a bf of over 8 years is probably common-law, huh?)
Tiff, I will ask around--it IS the Friday Vegas show we have tix to, and there may be friends of friends who are interested....these are 2 singles, right?
(Oh, and re; "Hit me baby..." while I disagree that a love of all things pop culture means that you need to get a LIFE, you may in fact, as you said, need to get a LOFE....I mean, it's definitely time for a snack. A sandwich maybe?)
Har.
We'll miss you Ellie...and I love both your and Tiff's new avatars!
p.s. Mabs, YAY indeed for Alanis!! I bet she's amazing live.

Hey folks! I'm back at work after a very long day yesterday...yeah, 7-1:30, then up again a little after 7 just doesn't cut it for me. We got the tix w/ no problem, other than the fact that they were ticketfast. They scanned fine, but I'm a bit of ticket hoarder, so I was bummed not to have a hard ticket to keep...really though, no worries on that, because we found some on the way out!...Our seats were in the last row of the orchestra on the aisle, and considering how far back we were, they weren't really that bad at all! I've never been to Radio City before, so I was expecting the performers to be more miniscule than they were.
Jason Mraz opened for Alanis, and while I never really disliked him, I didn't really love him either. I don't have his CD, and all I've really heard is The Remedy (and my god, was that overplayed!)...But he put on a really good (very short) set.
Prettiest Friend
Wordplay
Rocket Man
You and I Both
Geek in the Pink
The Remedy
I'm Yours
I really liked his stuff done acoustically. It was just him on guitar and this guy Toca (who randomly ended up sitting in front of us for a half a song during Alanis' set while the woman who was sitting there got up to go to the bathroom or something)...yeah, Toca was playing a djembe. All in all it was a fun set...good times!
Alanis' set was also excellent. Obviously lots of stuff from Jagged Little Pill, but there were a few others tossed in as well. Her set was really cool...kind of like a living room. She was in excellent voice, but the audience was kind of funky. There were a lot of random "I love you Alanis'" that sometimes came at kind of inopportune moments. Also, I've got to say, I've NEVER seen so many people getting up, coming and going, etc. at a concert!!! Up and down, in and out. STOP PEOPLE!!! It wasn't like some crazy marathon concert where you'd really have to get up and run to the bathroom or get a drink, or whatever. Maybe it just seemed more noticable because we were in the second to last row, so we saw pretty much everyone that got up to leave, you know?
Anyway, here's the setlist:
Your House
You Learn
Not The Doctor
Perfect
Head Over Feet
A Man
Ironic
Forgiven
Hands Clean
Mary Jane
All I Really Want
Right Through You
Wake Up
Uninvited

You Oughta Know

Thank U
I'm off for now...hope you got home alright, Elphie! I realized, as I was driving myself back from the train station at 1:15am, that I've never driven at night before...hmm...first time for everything. I made it home in one piece though, so all is well!
I'm glad you made it back, Mabel! Night driving isn't all that much fun.
After you left, Alanis came right out and we talked and I'm now her best friend. Bet you wish you stayed, eh?
Just kidding. Apparently she did come out, but after I left (I left at 12:15 to catch my train). I saw all the other band members exit, though (I didn't stop any for autographs or anything, nobody did, but we applauded them).
I absolutely loved the concert. It was cool that she did every single song from Jagged Little Pill. She opened with Your House and I was SO excited when she started singing it because that song is amazing. It's really powerful on Jagged Little Pill because it's just her voice and no instruments or anything, and it's even better when you're hearing her sing it live. So that really got me into it. Ironic was the one that got everyone on their feet for the first time, and although it isn't really one of my faves, it got me excited when the whole audience was singing along. Mary Jane was a standout for me because that's my favorite song from the album, and she did a great job with it. I was glad to hear a couple (A Man and Hands Clean) from Under Rug Swept, because I love that album almost as much as Jagged Little Pill (which is a lot). It's too bad that we didn't get to catch Alanis after, but it was a great concert. Mabs, thanks again!
Wow, girls it sounds great...I LOVE "Your House." YAY!
Here's 2 of the crappy pictures I took.

They aren't so bad, Elphie. At least it gives everyone else an idea of what they show was like...you should post that Mraz one w/o zooming in or cropping it. I thought it was really quite amusing! The little, "glowing" MR.A-Z!!!
haha. Actually, I already cropped it. I couldn't bear to keep it like that, it was pretty pathetic! That first Alanis one I posted is cropped (the second one is from when we moved up).
Awww...I liked that Mraz pic, in it's sad little way!
*sigh* okay, I'll get it back for ya.
I can't do it now, but I'll post it later.

Thanks, Elphie!!! You're a peach!!!
Whoo! I didn't realize the Alanis concert was so soon! Alanis is coming to Vancouver this summer, as is White Stripes (YAY!!), Bob Dylan (a.k.a. "Grumble Grumble"), Willie Crusty Nelson, Black Eyed *yawn* Peas, Jack Johnson, Michael Buble and Pearl Jam. The only ones I'm relly hyped for are Alanis and White Stripes.
What venue was the Alanis at?
ETA: Oh yeah, The Boss is coming here too. *yawn* If he isn't paying tribute to Bono, I really couldn't give less of a poop.
Alanis was at Radio City Music Hall...didn't you read the review, you dolt?!?!? Do you have your tix for Vancouver yet?...And I like Bruce. If his solo tour wasn't so damn expensive (and I wasn't already going to so many concerts!), I think I may have tried for tix. Eh, maybe next time.
Alanis was at Radio City Music Hall...didn't you read the review, you dolt?!?!?
*whispers* Ellie? Is that you? Back so soon?
Oh yeah, Radio City...yep, I read your review word-for-*stifles yawn*-worzzzzz....
I don't have my tickets for Alanis yet. There are still tix available, but no one's interested in going! They're saving up for the White Stripes and the Boss.
I was going to pick up tickets for Bruce for my dad's birthday, but the cheapest SH*T seats are $90 a pop!! And I thought U2 was freakin' expensive. (Then again, these tickets cap at $110, as opposed to, what, $180?)
I thought you needed a little abuse, and since Ellie's gone, somebody had to do it!!!
Yeah, the Bruce tix are kind of annoying. Yeah, I guess it'd be kind of nice to get the best seats in the house for $110 (I think they were $85 here) but I don't like the cheapest seats being $75, either!!!...I hate the fact that all of these concerts pile up all at once! It'd be nice to spread the wealth a little bit. How about some shows in November and December?!?!
