I might be going on a Caribbean cruise in December. I'm still hacking out plans for NYC in October - airfare is rising!

Yeah! I'll just give away my U2 tickets for my October birthday, and I'll head on over in November instead to see my 2nd...uh...3rd...okay, really, 5th favorite Irishman!

Yep, Cape Cod, CQ! It was fun, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. Sailing is fun. Weather is warm. People milling about in a relaxed way. Life is good.
Tiff, I certainly don't want you to have to back out for October, buuuuuuuut, should November look more feasible and you can't make it, I'll buy back the Monday ticket (before you go giving it away...Miss Crazy!) I'll keep my eyes peeled for November in my countless idle hours at the computer at work. Are you seriously considering that instead??
I'm still plotzing over that set list. It's like, every song from the North American list (aside from the really rare ones like Wild Horses - which I listened to a few days ago, and decided it's probably better live than it is recorded) - a Vertigo 2 AND 40!! I mean, wow.
So what did you do there, Elz? Aside from miss us a lot and stuff your face with fish, as is your norm.
Yeah, that setlist was pretty great. I thought they were done for sure at Vertigo2! I'm excited to be getting a couple of boots w/ WGRYWH. I was always kind of eh about it, but I think I'd really love to hear it live.
Glad to hear you had good weather, Ellie...Oh my god! I just realized that it's been over 2 years since I've been to the beach! This is just wrong...no wonder I've gotten so pastey!

Are you really ditching the October trip, Tiff? That'd mean not meeting me! Which is a Godsend for myself, of course...but what are you going to do with that 'Days till I molest Ellie' calendar now?
And nothing too exciting to report about Cape Cod...it's just as you'd imagine. I've been there plenty of times before. Just lazing about, and going for 'scenic drives', and the odd trip on the water. The food is divine, though.
Money aside, there's no way in hell I'm ditching October. I've been waiting FOREVER for it! (And by FOREVER I mean, like, 4 months.) Sorry, CQ.
On the bummer side, it looks like the airfare is still increasing. I haven't talked to Sivon in a long time - I hope she's still open to housing my ass for a few days, otherwise Mabs, I may have to skip Paul and use your hospitality for U2 weekend instead!

What a leach. Couldn't you just sleep at Grand Central Terminal or something? Maybe under the stars in Central park? Or on a nice cosy subway bench?
Oh Tiffy, my dear, I can never tell when you're being dramatic. I thought you were seriously having doubts about October. I certainly hope not!...Is going out of Seattle still looking like a possible "affordable" option? I'm still up for housing you for a few days. I can do 2 w/o any problem, but have to fill out paperwork for anything over that (not really a big deal or anything).
I think if I do end up having to crash at your place, it's going to be from the 7th to 11th (with that one night in the middle for my birthday part-ay!), so we're looking at about 3 nights. I'm still eyeing Seattle - it's a couple hundred dollars cheaper, but with all the trouble to actually get to and from Seattle, it may not be worth it, and I may have to save up for Vancouver anyway.
Oh! I forgot to tell you - that movie with Robin Williams and Cheno also has your cousin, JoJo! She was on set too (and wears a LOT of make-up!!), but I thought it would be awkward to introduce myself as your Internet buddy. Good judgment call?
Wow. Last night was PHENOMENAL. I'll probably give you a few more thoughts once I've digested it a bit more - but WOW. Once is not enough. Great to see the setlist, Mabel - you're on the ball as usual! Again - wowwwwwwwwwwww!
Tiff, I'd say good use of disgression re: JoJo. She probably wouldn't even recognize my name (I've only met her 2 or 3 times at family-type functions...I think a wedding, a baby shower, and a graduation) and she was probably 10 at the last one. I just remember her from hearing her being chatted up for being on Rosie/Maury, etc (at the last "function" she had a Rosie jacket on). I want all the dirt on her though, Tiff!
Jez, I can't wait to hear more from you once you're able to collect yourself! I think (considering what they've been doing for songs this tour) this was just about the perfect setlist, for me...would have been nice to squeeze one more Boy song in, but geez...Gloria, Bad, what, 26 songs?!?! How can you complain about that?!?!?
where in the Cape were u El?
Where'd I slip up?!?! I tried, Elphie...honest!
ETA: SH*T! I just remembered...oops! (well, at least it wasn't anything really new like "OMG, they just played Acrobat for the first time EVER!"
Haha, it's okay. You're right, it was nothing really all that surprising. And I am more concerned about avoiding Leg 3 spoilers.
There are Rosie jackets? And she (JoJo) was wearing one? That sounds like it would be too "uncool" for her.
Yeah, you know how they used to give away jackets on the show every once in a while...I'm assuming they gave them to people that performed on the show/were guests, etc (or at least little kids). She was probably 10 or 11 when I saw her wearing it...like her little badge of "I'm cool; I was on TV."
And sorry again about the spoilers! I'm certainly going to try to be more strict about not looking at leg 3 setlists (yeah right!)...I'm gonna try though! I've pretty much given up for Europe though. I have way too much free time on my hands to overcome that temptation!
Yeah, I guess I get the Rosie jacket thing.
Don't worry about the spoilers, I was just being annoying! This is a U2 tour thread, so it makes sense to talk about U2 concerts here, especially the ones that our very own board members attended!
Ooh, Mabel, Jeff Goldblum was on Letterman last night! I happened to be flipping channels and saw it. I really like him, he was so considerate and classy. He seems like a really great guy. And funny, too!
I'm not worried about knowing Leg 2 spoilers, because I'm pretty sure it'll be quite different for Leg 3.
Elphie, you "just being annoying"??? I guess that threw me for a loop! You're usually the one on the straight and narrow here! Though I can't believe I actually typed "I can't believe they did A, B, C, D, and E!!!" I totally forgot about that this morning. I was like "what could Elphie possibly be talking about. I definitely put significant spoiler warnage on that setlist post!"
As a side note, I can't believe I've been having trouble getting rid of my extra potential DMB ticket for Randall's Island. I think I may have a taker (from NH) but I had to go through like 5 other people already! I'm not a huge Dave fan, but I feel like I'm something of a reject to our generation if I never see DMB in concert...Besides it's w/ BNL and j'adore BNL!! $50 for a 10 hour concert fest is a good deal, I suppose. Well, assuming it's quasi-decent weather-wise.
