Congrats on Theater Talk, Mabel!

I'm sorry I won't get a chance to see Pillowman. Why couldn't they wait just a few more weeks? Oh well. I told you I ordered it on amazon a while ago...reading it will be just the same as seeing it on Broadway, right?

Yay Felicity. (Watch out for her at next year's Oscars, for Transamerica or whatever it's called! You heard it here first - an Ellie Exclusive!)

Yay Bono's ass.

Did everyone hear that Elphie is stalking me? She HAD to buy tickets in the SAME ROW as me for "See What I Wanna See." <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!)

I saw her on Leno chatting about Transamerica. I'd love to see her get a nod!

I'm not sure how it'll read w/o having seen it, to be honest. Watch a Goldblum movie or two before to have Goldblumian delivery in mind while reading it. I can't imagine those lines being said by a "normal" actor. I absolutely cannot imagine Jim Broadbent (as much as I enjoy him) in the role. *shakes head* Goldblum has earned himself a special place...somewhere. I wish I'd brought footwear equip, but being at the back of the house it wouldn't have turned out anyway...I'd love to have had his Act II monologue recorded so that I could pop it on when I needed a good laugh. Genius. He's a frickin genius!!!

Heehee. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!) I think *you're* stalking me, Pat!

Mabs, I'm glad you managed to catch The Pillowman, it sounds like a good performance.

And, even though the person who should have won that Emmy wasn't even nominated, I was happy for Felicity. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!)

Yeah, I know it won't be the same. You were supposed to say "Sure, Ellie! It'll be better - who needs Broadway?" <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!)

"Sure, Ellie-Who needs Broadway?"...Better???

Last post of the evening, because I just remembered one more thing I was going to post about the closing. I was talking w/ a girl on the way back to Grand Central who I waited in line w/ and stage-doored w/, and she said Claire Danes plowed by her at intermission going to the ladies room...and allegedly proceeded to camp out in a stall throughout the intermission, presumably to avoid being approached by anyone (either that or she ate some bad beef). Kind of lame, Claire, especially considering most theatres usually only have 2 or 3 stalls. I've ushered shows w/ significantly bigger celebrities, and none of them seemed to feel that it was necessary to hide from the audience at intermission like that.

That's all. Night!

Hey. I know most people in this thread don't like Ms. Danes, but I do. So I'm gonna defend her. How does the girl know she stayed in the stall throughout intermission unless she was in the bathroom that whole time herself? And if I remember correctly, The Pillowman has a pretty nice, big bathroom with lots of stalls. Anyway, I wouldn't go bashing her after simply hearing that story. That is all. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!)

Just a quickie...Obviously since I didn't see it w/ my own two eyes, as I went out into Shubert Alley for intermission, I don't know for sure, but I guess she stayed sitting down in the lounge, since she also had SRO (gotta rest those feet) and saw her come out, so unless Ms. Danes was chatting it up w/ people in the loo, I'd say she must have been holding fort in the stall thw whole time. That was totally the longest sentence ever, but I'm too tired to fix it...I don't recall how many stalls there were at the Booth in particular, as I don't think I actually used the facilities at any of my multiple visits there recently...I will say if it was at the Longacre (that had 2 stalls) I would have bad to beat down the door! <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!) Whatever floats your boat, honey...I don't know, maybe there were people giving her SH*T before the show started and she wanted to avoid more of the same at intermission? Whatever the deal was, the image of her standing in a stall, checking her watch, is highly amusing...and no, I don't really care for Claire. And it wasn't just the past year or two w/ the whole BC/MLP business. I never watched My So Called Life, so I didn't have that affinity for her, and I never really cared for her much in the films I saw her in. She was always just kind of meh to me, so the though of her holding fort in the stall was highly amusing to moi. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!)

Oh, and sorry Lauren wasn't nominated, Elphie. They always forget the folks that aren't on the three big networks and HBO, etc. I guess Fox sneaks in there occasionally w/ shows like Arrested Development and House, but that seems to be kind of a rarity. Doesn't seem fair, but that seems to be the way they conduct business. The network probably just doesn't go out there and "buy" her nominations like the big boys do. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!)

ETA: I went back and added "allegedly" before the CD story on the other post. I suppose you're right, Elphie, since I wasn't there, I don't know for sure, but the mere prospect of it was enough to give me a chuckle (for any celeb to do something like that, let alone one that I don't necessarily enjoy).

Oh, and I didn't realize you got your tix to SWIWS. Are you and Pat going to the same show, in the same row?!?!?! That's kinda crazy!

Ech, CD doesn't do it for me. She always seems so whiney...maybe it just hits a little too close to home w/ me! <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (For sure!)

I don't know what I'm going to do w/ SWIWS. I really would like to see it, but I know I can't swing full price, and I really don't expect to be able to get The Public's Quik-Tix (I'm sure it'll sell out fast!) Have fun at the closing show though!! I'm sure it'll be a hell of a show.

Mab, meet me on AIM please!

(Just bumping this quickly to make sure you see it before you log off.)

Now I'll edit to add my response...

Thanks for the article link, #1! How enormous was that?? 14 pages?! Very detailed though. Which photo was on the cover of the mag?

I'm really sad I missed Pillowman. Everyone seems to have loved it, and a BC/Jeff combo can't be all bad! I'll choose you believe your "alleged" Claire story as fact. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.) Just because it's funny. And she doesn't seem like a chat-me-up type. Maybe she was just reapplying her make-up for a looooong time?

And I don't HATE Claire...she was good in Brokedown Palace and R&J. (Even though she cries kinda funny.) I just don't care for her much.

What dates are SWIWS running?

And now work (pharmacy) has called to say they can't give me the 15th off, and if I don't show up, then I lose my job.

Good lord, Tiff!! Are you going to have to reschedule and leave early? Is that going to cost you an arm and a leg? And where the hell are you? I'm on AIM. I've been waiting for a response for like...a whole minute. *taps foot*

God, I've been such a bitch lately. I really, really need a good night sleep tonight to get me back on track. I feel like I've gotten screwed up somewhere and I need to get myself sorted out. Ugh!...It's really not that bad. I just wish I could figure it out, whatever it is.

Sorry if I sounded overly defensive, but I had to stick up for my fellow Claire. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.) And go watch My So-Called Life. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.)

Tiff, wasn't the article insane? I skimmed the 14 pages.
Can you get someone to cover for you at the pharmacy that day?

And yep, I can't get Pat away from me! He simply insisted on buying those tickets only a few seats away from mine to the same SWIWS performance. Do you blame him, though? <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.)

Pat, you stalker!! <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.)

The Claire situation, true or not, made me laugh, so I had to pass it on...defend away, my friend! I'm something of a traitor to our generation for not watching MSCL. *shakes head* I guess I missed out on the Claire-dom. What can I say? You'll just have to be my favorite, Elphie! <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.)

Aw, thanks! I'm definitely cool with being your favorite. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.)

And Tiff, SWIWS begins previews on October 11th, officially opens on October 30th, and closes either November 20th (according to The Public Theater and Telecharge) or December 4th (according to broadway.com). I'm personally hoping that it's November 20th because I have tickets for that day (as does Pat). Were you thinking of trying to catch it while you're here?

I guess Tiff and I are looking to go to SWIWS on 10/12. I'm sorry it looks like the show's going to extend...how horrible is that (though it is a bit of a pisser when you think you're going to the closing...that happened to me w/ Gypsy).

Of course you're my favorite Claire. I think CD should consider changing her name! <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.)

Nothing else of interest...other than my computer seems to be on the verge of crapping out. Rather alarming, actually. I tried resetting it to a previous date, and then it started coming up w/ these error messages in Word and shutting down w/o saving my document. It's very frustrating and confusing. I don't know what's going on. I've had a couple of Norton scans and they've come up clean, so...I don't get it! I don't understand computers. They're a big mystery to me.

I also need to consider cleaning up my desk area. What a mess. I'm 3rd generation packrat, and the clutter is starting to accumulate! The fact that it's only the 3rd week of school makes this a little scary! Where did all of this come from?!?!? Whatch out, Tiff! You might just get lost in my excessive clutter!!

Love, don't worry about your clutter and me. Let's just say...the reason I haven't actually left this chair since logging on at 1pmPST isn't because I like you so much, but because it's physically impossible to walk from the chair past my bed to the doorway because bags, clothes and cow slippers are blocking my path. And...is that the Elton John/Billy Joel bootleg sitting beyond my reach on top of my UK Cosmo magazine on top of my bag, on top of my shopping?

Oh geez.

Ugh...I can't believe I've been online so long today. I did get some stuff accomplished (not that sorting stuff out w/ you wasn't "getting stuff accomplished," Tiff).

Oh, I saw Damien Marley is opening for U2 from 10/16-11/6 (or something...before the return to MSG, whenever it was). Could be interesting.

If I go missing between 10/7 and 10/15, the girl on the left is to blame:

<font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (Having second thoughts.)

And the girl on the right is likely an accomplice. And the man in the middle is likely handcuffed to the bedpost alongside me.

I'm just sayin'.

Thanks, Tiff! While I would have been more than content having my picture burried in page 80-whatever, your little comment on the bottom made up for it. I hear Mr. Goldblum is quite the randy fellow!!!

Ummmm...the first one. He was seriously groping chicks at the stage door. It wasn't that bad, but he was suggestively fondling arms and shoulders. Yep, Goldblum loves the ladies.
