What did you say? Did you reply at all...seems like not replying would be easy enough, as he didn't even know it'd get to you at all.

Posted: 9/22/05 at 11:36pmNope, didn't reply, and don't intend to. Although I contemplated an initial response of, "Sure, let me compile a list and get back to you.", followed by, "1. Go F*CK yourself. 2. Go F*CK yourself. 3. Go F*CK yourself."

You know, last week a pair of tickets with seats in the same area (and same face value) as the ones I'm selling sold for US$400:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6559093117&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
I was pretty confident that I could do the same. But then I see this guy, whose seats are also similar, and he's barely clearing face value, with only 3 hours left in the auction!
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6563485220&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
I may need to ask for a pity bid bump, guys! Do you think it's the dates that are make or break $150 and $400??

Posted: 9/23/05 at 1:58pmWOOOHOOO!!!! Just got the heads-up on the internships for Inside the Actors Studio. They've got 4 different categories, three of which I'd be qualified for...they'll be taking on between 11 and 17 interns...*FINGERS CROSSED* I'm off to write my cover letters for the three I'm applying to, House Management (basically an usher, so that's probably the one I'm least interested in) Office Intern (sounds really cool; working w/ the director/producer, attending tapings and learning about TV production, editing, etc) and a Backstage Intern (basically a gopher, which is kind of SH*Tty, but it would still be great fun if there are good guests!!!)

Posted: 9/23/05 at 4:29pmYAY! Congratulations! What qualifications did you need? Office or Backstage intern sounds like it would be a blast! (I would actually probably lean towards Backstage, just because you're right there by the action, while an Office intern probably does more with pre- and post-production, right? But you know more about this than I do, so whatever sounds more interesting!) When do you find out?

Hope you get what you are looking for, Mabel. I've never seen Inside The Actor's Studio, but it sounds great & very star-studded!
And Tiff - I might be interested in those tickets myself!

Just got back from The Constand Gardener...very good!
I also got back to a bouce back from the Backstage Internship. I resent it...hope it goes through this time. That one sounds like it would be exciting (getting to see everyone backstage) and I'd certainly take it (happily) if it happened to be offered to me, but I think that the Office Internship would probably be more...helpful(?) in the long run, since that sounds slightly more substantial. The backstage one would pretty much amount to getting people coffee...though I think my Ui gig might give me a bit of a leg up on that, since I've got previous experience being near big name actors, and I can keep my SH*T together. Well, I can keep it together at work and then gush to people when I get home!
We'll see what happens. Some of them say that they're starting October 1st, so I hope it's not too late. Late last week, the theatre director didn't have a clue what was going on, and I just got this info this afternoon (from the English department list-serve). *fingers crossed*
Any nibbles on your eBay auction, Tiff?!?!

Are they looking for 11-17 interns for each sector, or altogether?
No nibbles yet.

All together, across the 4 different internship areas.
When does it end? I think they wait until the last minute when the auction doesn't start at $1 or something ridiculously low.

Good luck, Mabel!
I'm sure you'll con some poor sucker out of their cash, Tiff, so don't worry.
Bloody scalpers.

4 days.
Can you sign up for an account and give it a pity bid, to let people think it's legit? Otherwise people might look and go, "Mmm...good price, I wonder why no one else has bid on it..." Stupid 100% rating means nothing!
(That one that was $148 when I posted it a couple of hours ago peaked at only $217!)

$217 is pretty much double face (w/o fees)...that's a respectable amount to make, Tiff. If eBay doesn't seem to take, I'd try craigslist. Put 'em up asking for $200 or so for the pair. I bet you'd get it. It isn't a ton over face, but it'd be better than nothing, right?!
And I'm sure people will be bidding on the last day. For the most part, people like to wait until the last minute, which is why I have very little faith in snagging anything at a decent price for 10/11.

Or 10/7. *gleam in eye*
We could catch the concert until 11pm, and then run to BB King's! (Ooh, do you have a BB King's link?)
Yeah, I won't be worried for now...but in about two days, I may need to send you guys in for reinforcement!

I CANNOT go to all 5! That's borderline crazy, Tiff...though I must admit, somewhere in the back of my mind I had been considering trying for GA for 10/7, but that would nix Spamalot on Friday. Too many things to do and too little time...too many U2 concerts in a week's span!

Are you still going to the show yourself?

*continuous eye-gleam* [sing-song voice] But if it was below face value, and better seats than we already ha-ave...
Actually that's true, though. I don't want to sacrifice Spamalot time. We're already catching their last show in NY, which will probably be better than their first, right?
Going to what show ourselves, smEllie? Can'tcha keep up?

Going to which show(s), Ellie?
Tiff and I have tix and are going to see U2 on 10/8,10,14. A tribute band that's supposed to be pretty damn good is playing B.B. King's on 10/7 at 11:30 ($12)...Let's see, what else? We're going to See What I Wanna See on 10/12, and maybe Piazza on 10/13 (still haven't heard on the $5 tix, Tiff) and we were thinking of doing Spamalot's SRO on 10/7.
Tiff's being a bad influence and tempting me w/ the prospect of going to either (or both?!?!?) of the other shows, 10/7 and 11. I just don't know.

The Monday U2 show. Are you selling all of your tickets or keeping one for yourself?
I'd love to see Spamalot. Isn't SRO a lot of hassle though? Looong lines at the crack of dawn etc?

Not both! That's too much! Only if we can get good seats for under face value. Otherwise, eh. I'd rather catch a Broadway show, or - something I don't think I've done in New York in a loooong time - take it easy for a night. (ZANINESS!)
I've always wanted to see the Brooklyn Bridge at sundown...

Entertaining the notion that we could actually snag something for below face (and below face of the cheapies, not a $170 for $150) then I might consider it...I'd be tempted to try for GA on 10/7, but what are the chances they'd release any? I'd say probably slim to none, and I don't think I'd want to get some that were released late in the day and be stuck in the very back on the floor. I think that'd be kinda crappy.
I guess we'll see what happens. Certainly if some tix for 10/11 show up on eBay and look like they're going to go for $70 for the pair, I would jump all over that, but I think that's a big ol' IF.

I'm not sure what to make of the Spamalot SRO line. I've heard of people getting there at 7am and not getting tix, but I showed up on a Saturday at 10 to 10 and had my choice of the mat. or evening show. So..???
Tiff is only selling her tix (we're keeping min, because they were better) for Monday.

Ah. So the two that were originally intended for Siv and Nikki are the ones on sale...I think I'm up to speed now. U2, you say? Who are they?
I've never stood for a show before - is it excruciating, or just mildly annoying? And can you actually see things properly?

I actually wouldn't want to try for GA unless by some absolute miracle, there wasn't a line up. (Yeah, right.) I think I posted yesterday that anything past 5 rows from the stage would just be pointless, because we wouldn't see anything except for the back of everyone's heads. Ick.
Let's stick with what we have now unless a major below-face-value deal happens. Already:
10/7 - Spamalot plus 2U
10/8 - Maybe a matiness plus U2II
10/9 - Birthday bonanza!
10/10 - U2III
10/11 - Nothing yet, but you've got class, and I'll probably be with Siv in Brooklyn that night anyway.
10/12 - SWIWS
10/13 - Maybe Piazza, and/or another night with Siv
10/14 - U2V
Whew!
