When would I go? We've already got plans for 10/7 and for 10/9 (the tentative dates set, depending on where they place/if they get home field advantage, etc)...unless you'd like to join me (Yankees playoffs game...I'm sure it would be a lot of fun! But then we'd have to cancel something else) See, this is what happens when you try to make a buck doing something sleazy. You get greedy and it bites you in the ass!

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

Wait, it's "Home Game 3" so I guess it would have to be on 10/9, assuming they win the AL and have home field advantage, because if they don't have home field advantage, there wouldn't be a 3rd home game in the 5 game series. Gotta consult the experts on the Yankees thread.

When did you buy the tickets? Just now? So you were planning on selling them all along??? Or ditching me??? (To be fair, I could make allowances for 10/7 and we'd consider it a compromise for you seeing the Rangers game on 10/13. The ALDS is, like, a big series, isn't it? I heard Jen Garner ramble on about it on Leno last night...two teams are tied and some really good pitcher named...uh...*blanks*) But...but...you were going to sell them? After making me feel so guilty that I couldn't even sleep last night because I thought you thought less of me?

See, now that is karmic retribution!

It's not the actual act of selling the tix for more than face that I had slight qualms w/, Tiff...it was the gouging. If people are stupid enough, or desperate enough, or whatever enough to pay more than face...Super! Knock yourself out. But bumping the price up on eBay was a smidge sketchy. I was kind of planning on selling them from the get-go, but I also may have been tempted to go...I don't know. It's turning into a big mess, and I guess I can at least be glad that it's only $50...still more than I'd like to (potentially) lose, but not enough to totally freak myself out over. Maybe they won't even get to this game! *fingers crossed* I just want my $50 back. I take it back! I didn't want them anyway! AAaaaaarrrrgggg!!! Karmic retribution indeed. *headdesk*

Fair enough. You're not going to hold this against me next week, are you? It's the broke-ness factor and the fact that other people got $400 last week that sort of blinded me.

And on the bright side, your crappy deal has freaked me out enough to almost want to settle for the $165 some guy offered me off Craigslist. (Almost.) Otherwise I'm thinking since Beka has the day off, she might be able to meet us in town, and I'll sell the seats to her and a friend at face value.

So that makes it karmic...uh...karmic...what's the un-doing of bad karma called? Being zen-erous?

No worries, I won't hold any of this business against you...I just didn't want to participate in the gouging. Karmic distribution...

I was just talking to my dad, it sounds like the chances are slim-to-none that this game will even happen. They'd have to win the AL East, and push their Division Series to the 5th and final game on 10/9 (no time yet, so if it happened to be in the afternoon, I could still go and meet you for dinner).

I don't know how these people can scalp tix for a "living." They all must have heart conditions and grey hair!

Oh my!!! So, have any of you noticed the extreme lack of quality greeting cards? They're always kiddy cards, religious cards, or super sappy sob-fest-type cards??? Well, in my family, we've decided that we might as well just embrace the bad cards, and buy each other the most hideous cards possible. Well, my mom really outdid herself this year. She sent two (apparently there were just too may horrific cards to pick from)!! I think she prides herself in finding cards that are so embarassingly bad that I can't open them on the street for fear of getting odd stares from random people. So, anyway...today's winner was one for a daughter's first birthday (she added a 2 in there) and it had a cartoon birthday kitty opening a present, and she cut out little liquor bottles and glued them so they're coming out of the birthday present! I almost pissed myself on the street! It is absolutely the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen! Too funny!!!

Actually, 10/9 works if it's during the day, because you're missing brunch anyway, so you can come after the game to BWW HH and then dinner.

The whole scalping thing is ridiculously nerve-wracking. I think my heart was pounding so fast last night, it qualifies as my weekly aerobic exercise.

Have you tried calling TM to see if they can just change the mailing address to something other than the billing address?

Seriously.

Holy CRAP. I was like, if I can get these for face value or under, what a steal! (The seats are about the same as the ones we already have.) Jesus. I'd alrady entered the amount and was supposed to confirm the bid and...holy CRAP.

That would have been tres SH*Tty! I think we need to just settle for what we've got. I have a feeling super-steals aren't to be found, unfortunately.

What was the deal w/ CL? You only got one offer for $170?

Yeah, one offer for $165 from a guy who advertised he would spend upwards to $250. Please.

I e-mailed the second highest bidder at $190, as well as the UK guy who asked if I would end the auction early.

Tell him you'll give it till the end of the night just in case, but that he's got them as of now...I've lost other tix that I'd been promised when they came back and told me someone else offered more after the fact.

But anyway...HOORAY!!

Aww, I don't know if I'll tell him I'll wait until the end of the night just in case - it seems sort of mean, doesn't it, seeing as he got to me first and offered me more than I was asking.

Can I just ignore him and THEN see if something better comes up? I've got his phone number now (and the girl who offered $200).

Well, if you're going to take his $250, delete your post so you don't have to deal w/ the depression of getting an offer for $275 or something and having to turn it down! Karmic distribution...

$225...$225...I'll wait until 8:30pmEST and then I'll give him a ring. I just hope he has a PayPal account. He said he could pick up the tickets in Manhattan any time after 8pm - I just hope he doesn't expect to wait that long to pay as well!

Does he think you're in NYC? "Can pick up the tix any time after 8"?? I'd send him an e-mail ASAP and tell him that you're in Van and that you'll be in NYC next week...that you can either meet him next week or mail it, etc.

Yeah, I WAAAAAAAAY overpaid for my U2 tickets apparently.

I should have waited, but I got so caught up.

I think I paid over $300 for two seats in the 300 section. I have a straight on view of the stage though.

Pat, that's not necessarily WAAAAAAYYY over face...well, depending on how over your over $300 is. 300s straight on at MSG are $100 each, plus fees would probably put you up around $230 or so. Could've been worse, I'd say.

I had a straight-on view in Boston, and it was great! Even from the very last row, clear across the arena, it was still AMAZING!!!
