I'm gonna try, yeah. But I don't think they'd be too happy if I blew them off on both days of a two day trip. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (No more second thoughts!)

And Sara does have a lot of vocal gymnastics to get through, so maybe it is gruelling after all. She has Find Your Grail, The Song That Goes Like This, Diva's Lament, and that jazz/skat type thingy, which I can't get enough of. She's fab! I also ordered the DRS OBCR CD, and I was surprised I liked Spamalot more - I was all set to love the underdog.

How's Helen Clark getting on, Elphie? Has she sorted out parliament yet?

Bye, Elphie...stuff is showing up on TM for Boston, I've read. Maybe something will show up as it gets closer. I'm still looking for McCartney for this weekend. All that's coming up are $250 tix....Mmmmm....Nope.

Wow, that's insane, Elphie! Have fun at your class! You'll be back in the city before you know it.

I got the DRS OBCR at the same time as Spam, and I liked DRS a lot more. I feel like I SHOULD see DRS just because the cast is swell, but as a Monty Python fan, Spam is more up my alley.

When's McCartney's last show in NY? Oct 5? Okay, then I'm hoping against face value tickets opening up on that date - it would drive me mental knowing I was two days late to see him!!

So are you not seeing a show at all, Ellie? <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (No more second thoughts!)

PS. Apparently my One tee came in the mail today at my friend's Washington PO Box, so I get to see it on Friday and wear it to the show! Yay!

I've been listening to Spam more, maybe 'cos it's more immediate. Is Hank Azaria on it at all, though??

I might be able to talk them into seeing a Saturday matinee, or even one on Friday night. I can but try!

I don't recall Hank much. Oh well, it's Alan Tudyk when we're there, anyway!

McCartney's last show is on the 5th (when I'm going to the Bono lecture at NYU). That leaves me w/ 3 other dates that I could go to (my Tuesday class is canceled for Rosh Hashanah) but I'm hoping something turns up for Friday or Saturday.

I liked Spam a lot (har, har!) but I think I prefer DRS. I've seen both twice and would happily go back to both again, but I do enjoy Yazbek...I think the fact that so much of Spamalot is ripped right from Grail irks me a smidge (totally didn't deserve a nomination for best book!) but it's still a lot of fun.

I haven't seen Grail, so maybe that's a good thing. I wanna do SRO! <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (No more second thoughts!)

<--- Note the return of Megan Mullally, in anticipation of this week's live W&G! I wonder if her torn leg muscle will be any hindrance.

If I'm able to get to the Shubert on time, I could line up to get you and one of your friends an SRO ticket if you think you'll make it into the city on time! (When do you arrive?)

Mabel, yeah, what's up with the newly-created Lady of the Lake character???

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not sure yet which train we're taking - although we SHOULD be there well before eight.

<- And can I get a teensy bit of appreciation for my galpal, Meg?? Wasn't she fabulous at the Emmys, despite tearing a muscle only the night before? (Whilst dancing to a cheesy TV advert...) What a trooper!!

That Green Acres performance was horrifying. (More because of Trump than Meg, but she's guilty by association.)

I enjoy Ms. Mullally...hopefully she'll make a return to Broadway after W&G limps off the air this season.

Depending on how many people are behind me and when you get there...there might be some folks behind us that would have your head if you skipped in at 10 of and picked up an extra pair of tix. Then again, as pissed as everyone was w/ the Pillowman cutters, nobody really did much of anything beyond glaring at them.

Oh no, I wouldn't cut ahead of everyone behind you - those sorts of people piss me off and I wouldn't want that sort of bad karma hanging over my head on my very first day! I just meant if I got there around 9:15/9:30 and I was still in a reasonable spot in the line.

Exsqueeze me??? Green Acres "horrifying"? Will and Grace "limping off the air"???

Damn you people to hell! I though I knew you, but now I'm not so sure...<font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (No more second thoughts!)

And to be fair, Meg was doing that in character as Karen rather than as herself. She really does have a fantastic voice! And didn't you see her limp offstage, and being dragged by that eejit Trump?

Hey, I didn't say "limping off the air"--that was full Nic. I still like the show and am eagerly awaiting the opener on Thursday!

And Meg was fine on the Emmys - it was Trump who horrified me.

I haven't watched W&G since HCJr. I don't know if it bounced back after that, but it felt like it was going down fast, and I just had to abandon ship! Sorry!

HCJr is when the show went downhill, I must admit. Even last year, those gratuitous cameos were just unfunny. I think Minnie Driver and Matt Damon were sort of at the peak of how much you can take advantage of a good celeb guest-appearance, but Janet and J.Lo? So unnecessary.

But they had Goldblum...that's gotta make up for J. Ho, right??

I prefer the Celine mention in "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" instead. Matthew McC walks out looking shell-shocked, and my heart goes out to him.

And yes, Goldblum was hilar on that show. Both times.

Oh suuuure. NOW my eBay auction has 9 people watching it, who'll all wait until 2 minutes to the end before they start bidding on it, and then they'll all run out of time and not spend as much money as they would have otherwise been willing to. If I don't clear US$200, I'll be very angry.

Tiff, which tickets were you selling again? How much did they go for?

Ellie, you follow NZ politics?? I think I followed the election more closely than most NZers; I watched all the debates and got really into it. The election was almost 2 weeks ago and we still don't have a government! It's a really crazy system; Helen Clark's party (Labour) won the vote, but it was really close and now the parties are allowed to make coalitions, so the main opposing party (National) could end up in power. We'll see.

I prefer DRS to Spamalot. Are you folks planning on trying to see that?

ETA: I'm such a skilled investigator that I found out your ticket info myself. It looks like your auction's still got awhile to go. Is that opening bid an actual one or is it from your buddy?
And even if you don't get as much money as you expected, you should be able to sympathize with the people; it sucks for buyers to have to pay over face value on already expensive tickets! Updated On: 9/27/05 at 01:38 AM

I haven't tried Nobu, Tiff. I am not a huge fan of real sushi (I like the prepackaged crap sushi) and I have a pretty sensitive stomach.

Any my recent displays of rauchiness isn't anything new - I'm just feeling more comfortable. <font color=red>Big Apple, here I come! (No more second thoughts!)

It's GA at B.B. King's on 42nd St. It should be a fun way to kick off our little week of U2 madness!

THIS BETTER BE TRUE!!!

I don't know if that news frightens or entertains me! Well, perhaps Bono is best used in front of the camera intead of behind it. (Million Dollar Hotel, anyone?)

Ellie follows NZ politics?? [amazed] No wonder she's a Yaley! This whole time I thought NZ was the Muggle name for "Middle Earth", overrun by dwarfs and elves and talking trees! What did I miss?

I've got 10 watchers for my U2 tickets and still no bids. I suppose I could feel sorry for those people, if not for the fact that I know all 10 of them are just waiting until the last minute so they can get the lowest price possible, cheap bastards! I take it as a personal insult! (Even though I shouldn't.)
