Sadly, I don't.
Even though it isn't fair, I think the voters will think about how amazing Albert Pujols has been the past 4 years under Barry Bonds and vote for him based on that stretch.
That coupled with Andruw's batting average being under .270 really hurts his chances I think.
He has been amazing though.
I think the Yankees are pretty much guaranteed a spot at this stage of the game...I don't see the Sox sweeping them this weekend, which would be the only way we'll wing the AL East...though I suppose we could take 2 of the 3 and have an added game to break the tie...Dunno. I'd be shocked if the Yankees don't make it though (even though it would make me giddy as a school girl!)
Gotta run...still no news from ItAS...VERY BAD! ALso, VERY STRANGE!
Stay safe w/ the fires, Pat. I'll be keeping good thoughts for you and your friends/family out there!
I also think the Yanks will win the AL East, but the Sox could get the wild card. We'll see! They're winning right now!
When were you supposed to hear back from ISAS, mabs?
And how was your bday night?
When are you seeing Paul again? Were you going tonight? If so, I hope you're having fun!
ETA: never mind, I discovered you're going on 10/1 (that's tomorrow there, right? The time change gets confusing).

Come on, folks! 3d page! I know Tiff and Ellie aren't here, but that doesn't mean this thread has to die!
Mabs, how was Paul?
I just bought a ticket to see Chess (the musical) at the local theatre here in two weeks. Closing night, front row center. No one else plans ahead here, which never ceases to amaze me.
Just a quickie to say I'm back...I was away all weekend, and I'll have to pop in later to post about Paul, etc.
Still nothing from ItAS...very strange...first taping's Tuesday, and I think I'll go down and see what the deal is. I e-mailed the guy that gave me the glowing recommendation (he asked me to let him know if I hadn't heard anything by Friday), and he wrote back saying that he's pretty sure they're just overwhelmed with the first taping being around the corner and he's sure I'll get something there. *sigh*
Can I just say that after that scary night where ELLIE forced me to go along with her unethical shenanigans, her avatar still makes me cringe after we sent Nic to that parallel universe of 500 scary Ellie-avs?
Hell for WHOM? I didn't see you run for cover!
But I think Mabel has some fishy posts remaining on her profile, and Ellie and I don't recall every posting that!
Yay!! Nice to see ya back, Ellie and Tiff...back to my many hundreds of pages that I have to read...Bad, bad timing for taking a weekend off for my birthday followed by U2 Week!!!

Ok...taking a mini-break from my homework. I've been pitifully unproductive (and I haven't even been weak/checking BWW compulsively)!!
Anyway, just a few thoughts on McCartney at MSG. First, our seats were great! We were in 313, and we were surprisingly close. I've only ever sat in 400 level seats at MSG (for what? 4 concerts?) Anyway, there's a huge difference between 400 and 300! I can't wait for 218 on 10/10! We were directly side-stage for McCartney, and we had a great view of the screens on the side. I think if we'd been much closer it would have been kind of tough to see them.
They started the show w/ a 15 minute video of McCartney's life, ending w/ quick clips from Live8 w/ U2 (wonder if Bono will be there on Wednesday after the Sachs NYU lecture?) The show was great! McCartney had great energy and there were some really beautiful/impressive moments in the staging, Live and Let Die was full of pyro craziness, and there was an incredibly beautiful moment with a curtain of sparks at the back of the stage. I'll have to look and see if I can dig up some pics. The only drawback to that was the excessive smoke for the next couple of songs. *cough*cough*
Overall, I'd say while this set was still great, I much preferred the 2002 set Ellie and I saw. The Beatles selections w/ Hello Goodbye, Getting Better, We Can Work It Out, You Never Give Me Your Money, Fool On The Hill, Something, Here, There, Everywhere, Michelle, Lady Madonna slightly edged out the setlist from Saturday (below):
Magical Mystery Tour
Flaming Pie

Drive My Car
Till There Was You
Let Me Roll It
Got to Get You In My Life
Fine Line
Maybe I'm Amazed
Long and Winding Road

Jenny Wren
For No One
Fixing a Hole

I'll Follow the Sun

Too Many People
She Came In Through The Bathroom Window
Good Day Sunshine
Band on the Run
Penny Lane
I've Got A Feeling

Hey Jude
Live and Let Die
-- 1st Encore --
Yesterday
Get Back
Helter Skelter
-- 2nd Encore --
Please Please Me
Let it Be
Sgt. Pepper's/The End
Don't get me wrong, it was great, and I'm thrilled I got new songs in there, but I liked the first batch a bit better. Highlights this time around: I Will, Blackbird (always a favorite, and it was more special, because I asked my mom in the car into the city if she could hear any Beatles song, what would she want to hear and she said "Blackbird") Helter Skelter (man, Paul's still rockin' out!) I'll Follow the Sun (very funny, because he prefaced it saying "this is a short one" so they kept dragging it out with little "encores" of the last lines "But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun," like they were done...but wait, there's more! They must have done it 5 times) Live and Let Die (craziness w/ the pyrotechnics!) the gorgeous wall of sparks in Follow Me, and you just can't go wrong w/ the staples (Maybe I'm Amazed, Yesterday, Hey Jude, and Let it Be)...Low points...the crazy drunk lady behind us that had no rhythm (very funny when she tried to clap along! And she had some choice outbursts) and the new songs. Geez, and I thought Driving Rain was a blase' album. Fine Line wasn't terrible, but Jenny Wren was like Blackbird-uber-lite...and the rest...they were just kind of...there. Definitely not a particularly exciting album, which is sad.
Guess that's about it for now...back to Orwell and Joyce.
Long story short, sounds like a good show but I would've liked your and Ellie's concert more.
Just read that U2 are (maybe) going to be on Conan on Thursday. Pity it wasn't next Thursday, because we could try for stand-by. I'll let ya know if I hear anything more for sure about it.
Oh god, please let them not be there on Thursday. It already pains me that Jon Stewart is on Letterman that Thursday as well. It hurts.
ETA: Well, U2 isn't listed on The Late Night TV Page ( https://www.interbridge.com/lineups.html#LS )...and to make things worse, The Daily Show is taking a one week break during the entire duration of my trip! *watches heart break into little pieces* I guess it's because of Yom Kippur?
ETA2: Nic! Keep us posted on you and your BFF Pachy tomorrow!
