They probably would sign after the concert, but I think the Waldorf is best. More personal (kinda), whereas there's going to be hordes at the tour bus plus they'll be exhausted.
Do you think they're flying by private jet? *scoffs: As if Bono flies commercial*
Please, please, please don't let it come down to Hartford. Just assuming it does (but it's not going to, right?!?!?) is there a cheap way of getting from NYC to Hartford that you know of? Is there a train (other than Amtrak...I love the boys, but I refuse to pay more for transportation than I pay for tix!) that goes into Hartford? I've never really looked into it, but when I was thinking of seeing a concert at The Hartford Symphony Orchestra, it didn't seem that there was much other than Amtrak/Greyhound (about $70 round trip).

Well, Hartford isn't so bad for me...but it's no MSG. I think Amtrak is your best travel method, expensive as it is. But it WON'T come to that. Think positive, Mabel. POSITIVE.

And what's wrong with Hartford anyway, Miss Hoity Toity NYC??
Gooooooooooooooooo Nutmeg State!!!!!!
I don't know how I'd get to Hartford, either. I could drive but my parents don't want me driving back after the concert, so that wouldn't work (hotels are too expensive, and I wouldn't have anywhere else to stay). I think Amtrak is the best way. That's what I'd be doing.
I'll try Ellie...But you do realize you're saying "think POSITIVE" to one of the most pessimistic chicks EVER?!?!?!?
Blech, I think Hartford would pretty much be out for me if Amtrak's the only option. When I saw McCartney there, I got a ride w/ the friend I went w/, who's currently on a crazy "only the necessities" budget, so I know she won't be a viable concert buddy this time around!
I don't have anything against Hartford, other than the fact that they don't have a $20 MetroNorth-type option to get there!!! If I had a ride, I'd totally go for it, but alas, I don't!
Well, if you end up getting $50 tix, chances are I can't make it to Hartford (nor would I want to - blech), you could always bribe her with a free ticket, right?
I'll check GReyhound for you. What's the Hartford date again?

December 7th.
Again - Goooooooooooooo Nutmeg State!
Well, pretty good news, Mabel. Roundtrip from NYC to Hartford is $46 + $4 will call fee = $50 total. That's not too shabby, right? It must be cheaper than Amtrak.
Hmmmmm, good to know. Still more than I'd want to spend, but it's better than $70/80, I suppose.
Yeah, Amtrak is $79. Do you have a place to stay for the night? If you didn't want to spring for a hotel, the earliest Greyhound back to NYC leaves at 3:30am, so you'd have to find a 24-hour diner somewhere.
Couldn't you and #1 go together?
Wait, this is so premature, lady. We're GETTING tickets tomorrow. We're getting tickets tomorrow! In fact, we're getting flo--okay. This can only go so far.

I seriously cannot tell you how nervous this makes me. I can't even imagine how nervous you must be El! Last chance! (Then again, you're seeing that second-rate rock band, so you can't be too choked.)

Well...it's my second last chance. Hartford is my very last chance. I'm sure I'll be celebrating tomorrow.
*has nervous breakdown*
Look on the bright side. At least Hartford isn't Omaha!
(Or Kanata, Ontario. I didn't even know there WAS a place that existed! "I'm from Kanata, Canada!")
ETA: Just Googled it. Kanata is a village-er, "city" of 67,325. What, did U2 drop its standards suddenly? A stop where the entire city can't fill the stadium, and only not a single show in Vegas? (I'm hoping the speculation is true that Vegas may close the tour.)

130,000 fans will be packing out Croke Park Stadium in Dublin over two nights. That's over twice the population of Kanata. I say, scrap Kanata, and add more MSGs. Who's with me?
Totally. People are saying that U2 might have rollover dates from the 11th-13th or 14th so my entire being is crossed!
Consider me crossed too!!!

Allow me to indulge in fantasy...
How about we all fly to Dublin? Wouldn't that be awesometastic??
And, like, Bono and Ali could have us round for tea afterwards! Well, me anyway. You two can wait outside.
If I could see U2 in Dublin, it would totally dwarf seeing them in MSG, which is still second best.
*sigh* Okay, I should be leaving for a bit to "do work". I've been so preoccupied with this whole ticket issue, I haven't been able to focus all day. And I'm SURE that listening to the Elevation tour live from MSG in the background will be JUST the ticket to get my mind back on track. Right?
Ellie, in the off chance that I decide to let myself grace you with my presence, what dates are you going for?
By the way, whatever happened to the Australia shows they were supposed to do? They were supposedly scheduled for December and I would have been gone by then anyway, but I was still fantasizing about spending an extra month there to see them.
I don't know if this helps any but I was trying like crazy yesterday morning to get tickets for Boston online. I have a high speed cable connection and used 3 browsers at once.
I tried for 15 minutes for both October shows putting in best available for 2 tickets and had no luck. It kept coming up that Ticketmaster was too busy, try back later. When they announced the added Dec. 4 show, I again put in best available for 2 tickets and got club seats next to the stage on the first try. I wasn't thrilled about paying $95.00 each but at this point I was lucky enough to get them so I took them.
When they announced the Dec. 5 show, for the heck of it I put in GA floor for 2 tickets and it came back right away with 2 of them! I still can't believe I got them.
I don't know if it was sheer luck but I would recommend specifically putting in GA Floor seats and see what happens.
I had better luck with ticketmaster.com. I tried ticketmaster.ca and couldn't even get to the home screen. It kept saying that Ticketmaster was too busy, try back later.
Good luck tomorrow! Don't give up hope and watch for them to add more shows and get in there right when they go on sale.
Elphie, I heard Australia is supposed to be pushed back to 2006, or something.
Thanks for the tip, Jim2! (Oh, and welcome to this happy little neurotic thread.) Do you remember if Dec. 4 and 5 went on sale at the same time? Please tell me you kept your floor seats. So ticketmaster.ca didn't work, huh? Okay, I'll stick with .com then.
And now because I'm getting even more paranoid, someone please remind me -
a) Can I log into two browsers with my ticketmaster.com account or will they expire/cancel each other out?
b) How many minutes do I have to type in my credit card info with trembly hands?
c) My tickets won't be released if I have to sign into my account again right?
