We'll be trying for 7th and 8th. Which could leave us with tickets for both dates, but whatever - U2-ticket-purchasing is a dangerous game. We know the risks.
*shivers with anticipation*
*realizes it's just an open window*
Jim, I've heard that if you have more than one browser open, they get timed out, so maybe that was the deal w/ your problem on Saturday. I'd done a test run w/ Duran Duran w/ multiple browsers open, and they timed out...I'm not sure if that happens all the time, but it seems like it does tend to complicate the process.
"Risks"?? "Risks"?? Winding up with tickets for TWO dates is a "risk"?? *smacks Ellie upside the head*
(BTW, what, do I not get a courtesy "This conversation has dried up, see you later." PM anymore?)
Mabel, really? I had two browsers open and it worked for me.
I dunno Tiff...I tried w/ two browsers (twice I think) and both times the first window that was in the queue timed out and said there was an error and to return to the event page. I'd read a couple of similar experiences on interferece. It's enough to make me leery and not willing to take that risk! Dunno? That's why I'm going the multiple computer route!

MABEL!!! DON'T MAKE ME EVEN MORE SCARED NOW!! *squiff*
Wait, is this for multiple browsers ANYWHERE on TM, or just for the same date??
I sure did keep my floor seats for Dec. 5. The Dec. 4 show went on sale at 10:20 and the Dec. 5 show went on sale at 10:35.
I had no problem at all using 3 browsers. I was logged onto my account on all 3 browsers before the tickets even went on sale. I would absolutely have an account set up with your credit card info stored. This really speeds up the processes and with my nerves on edge, I would have never typed in my info within the 2 minutes they give you before releasing your tickets to the public.
If you find tickets and then log in, your tickets will not get released. I know from past experience. I would still recommend logging in before they go on sale. One less thing to worry about!
For me, it timed out when I tried for the same date (I don't think I tried for multiple dates w/ more than one browser). I just know I pulled up the date (I think it was one of the added Boston dates) and I clicked 2 tix for Best Available (or whatever) and then as it went into the "Searching for Tix" window (you know, the one that says "You have a X-minutes, Do not refresh/go back or you'll loose your place in line") and while it was doing that I quickly opened another browser and tried again for the same date/same request, and when I checked back on the first window, it went blank and said something like "a system error has occurred, please return to the event page." I have no idea if this happens every time, or if it just happens if the system is particularly busy (like a mini-system overload) or what, but it was enough to scare me into not trying it again!!!
Edited, because Jim replied w/ the times for the added Boston dates!

<---- for luck. (At Tiff's behest)
One other thing I did remember. When searching for tickets and it gives you an estimated time, I found that when it said 1 or 2 minutes, it came back with tickets. When it said anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes (yes I did get a 15 minute timeframe), it would come back and say that Ticketmaster was busy, try back later.
I'm getting more nervous now. I remember when I tried for Vancouver tickets and it said 13 minutes, I was still able to get tickets, but I think I lucked out because it must have been that someone else's tickets got cancelled out.
Thanks for the account into - I opened one and had my card info stored for the first leg, but I was too paranoid to open more than one window logged in, in case it cancelled/timed out my session.
Someone please tell me Seattle GA is just as good as MSG nosebleeds so I can console myself if I don't get tix, right??
*gnashes on knuckle*
Jim, are you trying for MSG as well?
I wonder if my timing out had to do w/ the fact that I opened the other browser while the other one was searching (Jim, you said you had all three open from the get-go)...Damn, I wish I could remember what the time was on that Tampa try when I came up w/ GAs! I think it was 7 or 8...I do know the Boston tix I got for the spring said 15-20 (it didn't take that long, but I was like "OH MY GOD!!! 20 MINUTES!!!") I honestly don't think there's any rhyme or reason to any of this! Totally luck of the draw!
How do you know exactly when they go on sale? I never know, so I start about 5 minutes before my clock says the time they go on sale and I keep clicking and that seems to take extra time because it will keep coming up saying tickets aren't on sale yet. I mean does TM have a clock or something you can look at so you know when it turns the correct time? Does this sound like an insanely stupid question?
#1, it's totally not a stupid question because I was wondering the same thing. They don't have a clock, I've figured out, but I've also noticed that on my computer, the selling actually starts about 4 minutes past whatever time is advertised. I get on there 10 minutes early though, and keep refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, and then scream when it goes on sale. (I really do start to yelp.)

Tiffy, there's a present for you on the bitches thread... and check back a page for the best one!
No I'm not trying for MSG even though I would love to see them in NYC. I have tickets for one of the May shows and both Dec. shows all in Boston so I am pretty much broke! I live about 10 minutes outside of Boston. I would have to come up with money for a train ticket and hotel for MSG on top of the ticket so it just isn't possible.
I'm not sure, Elphie...I swear some of the dates went on sale a few minutes after 10. I try to get on the site/logged in around 10 to 10 (or 9 for tomorrow morning) and keep refreshing every few seconds until they say "Find Tickets." Boston seemed to go on sale a couple minutes after 10 on Saturday (according to my watch).
And Tiff, my mantra is "Nosebleeds are better than nothing...nosebleeds are better than nothing..."
*having difficulty breathing* Okay, enough!! This is going to get me psyched out.
But Allie, if we have an abundance of tickets and I'm living in Hali, will you be coming with me to NYC??
Jim2, you're going to have an amazing time. 3 shows including GAs?? Lucky bastard. I guess I can't brag about my two shows (down to one) now, can I?
Tiff, I have a feeling your going to do just fine tomorrow. Just be persistant and just remember that the F5 key refreshes your browser. Sounds silly be every fraction of a second counts.

I really hope so!!!
Oh, I believe you, Jim2! I was telling Mabel that the only reason I was able to score Seattle tickets before was because I refreshed just at the right second, and for some strange reason tickets were "on sale" in one browser for a good 30 seconds before my other 2 browsers, which said they weren't on sale yet! I didn't actually know that about F5. Duly noted. Boy, Jim, why didn't come on here earlier??
Same thing happened to me w/ one window having tix on sale and another not for the spring leg, Tiff! It was really weird. I even closed all the windows and started with a fresh window (while the other computers were searching) and it still came up that they weren't on sale (actually, I think it was for the added Sat. Boston date). Very strange...and I didn't know about F5 either!!! Good to know, good to know!
Oh and Tiff, I must say that I love your Bono avatar. As much as I tend to enjoy longer hair, I rather like Bono's Pop era close cut!!!
ETA: Damn...you changed it!!!
Still a close trim! I like it better than the long hair too.
Okay, I really must leave now and be productive so I can get some sleep before 6am tomorrow instead of pulling an all-nighter. Good luck tomorrow, Mabel! Be sure to IM me in the morning!
