ONE TREE HILL!!!
OMFG! Aaaahhh!!!
How was your flight? Are you having fun??
Broadway Legend Joined: 9/20/04
Oh right, One Tree Hill. I knew that.
The show with Chad Michael Murray. Gotcha.
Hey, Ellie. How's it going? Haven't seen you around in a while.
Hope you have fun tomorrow, Elphie! Take lots of pictures of the stump where the tree used to be. Weren't they supposed to plant another tree there? Did they ever do that?
Tiff, whatcha want to discuss about the RS article? I don't really have time to get into anything now or anything, but I'll ponder it and get back to you.
Not like anything was totally provocative, but just little things I noticed.
First of all, damn us for not waiting outside of MSG on 10/7, when Bono basked in all the attention, and since we were standing right up at the barricade those other times, WE could've been the ones in the Rolling Stone pic, screaming away!
Second of all, judging from the pics inside his apt (the San Remo, I take it), doesn't it seem surprisingly cold?
Third, that pic of him with Ali is simple and very sweet.
Fourth, who do you think the person was who'd written the HTDAAB music that a couple of others were assholes about, causing their fight at the beginning of the session?

Hey, Mabs! I'm fine. Nothing too exciting to report, 'mafraid.
Just reading back over the last few pages, and you guys really have put in some essay-length posts! One day I too will earn my place on this thread, but until then...

Don't you hate those hard pimples that are deep under your skin and you can't pop the mofo no matter what?
Yeah, that's all I've got to offer right now. Should be going out for dinner soon. *sigh*

Where are you going for dinner?
I recommend going to a seafood place - you'd blend right in.
Toodles!
What the hell? You edited your post so it wouldn't say "knickers" anymore??

I didn't want to be too crude...I thought I'd leave it up to imagination where the slime was coming from. There are innocent children who read this thread, y'know.
Oh right, yes. Nicole and Claire's virgin eyes.
Did you get tix for November?
Broadway Legend Joined: 9/20/04
I did not.
Are you still trying?
Ellie, I just checked all the places that I know of to pick up tix, and there is NOTHING for Hartford! It's ridiculous. Just trades. Actually, there were two of the highest priced singles on 4throck.com/u2, but it's really, REALLY slim pickings. Though, most shows have dropped tix at the box office on the day of the show. If Hartford is even remotely do-able to swing by on the 7th, I'd give it a shot. Then again, I guess it's always kind of a crapshoot. It seems like the northeast (New York, Boston, Hartford) are definitely the toughest tickets to get. I'll definitely let you know if I see anything though. Would you be able to go to Boston if I happened to see something for the 4th or 5th (Sunday/Monday)??
If all else fails, there are still rumors about them doing a stadium tour in the US in the summer.
I mean...who cares about 11/21?
Go to hell, kitty.
Sorry I've been so non-existent on this thread the past week or so. Trying to get organized for the trip and prepare work for 11 straight Stephen-less days has been a challenge.
I have also been dubbing shoes like mad for the last 5 days.
It looks like *A* (who is probably making an appearance in this thread and could even become a series regular) and I have our NY schedule finalized. No more show changes, no more ticket sales.
It all depends on one last call to the Lincoln Theatre Center to switch my very good Piazza tickets on Tuesday to Best Available Piazza tickets on Wednesday matinee. I realize it's probably a long shot, but I think *A* is calling and she has a magical way with these things. If not, I have the StudenTix ID for LTC so worse case scenario, we're out $40 bucks. Since I was able to work in The Color Purple in that scenario, I am pretty happy all things considered.
Here is our rough itinerary show wise:
Saturday 11/19
8:00 pm – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Sunday 11/20
2:00 pm – See What I Wanna See
7:00 pm – Rent
Monday 11/21
8:00 pm – U2
Tuesday 11/22
9:30 am – The View
8:00 pm – The Color Purple
12:00 am – Rent Film
Wednesday 11/23
2:00 pm – The Light in the Piazza
8:00 pm – Sweeney Todd
Thursday 11/24
9:00 am – Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
So, it looks like I'll still be meeting Claire (who never responded to my PM about shoes - if you read this let me know if you need any of that stuff. I'll try and deliver in person at SWIWS) at SWIWS and Nic on Sunday evening for the Rent lotto right?
I hear there 250 there for the lotto this past Sunday night. Looks like I am going to need the 6 people who are helping me and more. Do you think you could bring your wonderful roomie and her freaky stalker boyfriend?
ETA: Nic, your stuff is all done including the things you requested from me. w00 h00! Everything worked just fine except I couldn't get Irving Plaza done. It won't dub. If I had more time, I could probably get around it - but alas I think I'll have to skip it.

Page 3? Really?
You guys okay?
Hey, I relinquish all blame for this being on page 3. I can only reply to myself so many times!
Thanks so much for all your help w/ the shoes. If I can ever get Irving Plaza copied (or if I catch it on one of those random freebie things on interference) I'll send it out to you.
I don't think Claire's really had internet access lately, so that's probably the explanation on your lack of a response.
Glad to see that everything looks good to go with your plans! Looks like one hell of a busy week, but I'm sure it'll be fun, fun, fun!!! I see Spelling Bee got the axe. That's too bad. But I guess since you said the tour's going to be coming to LA, then I think it was a wise cut. The cast is great, but I think the show would hold up with another group of people.
I think it's safe to say that I will NOT be getting the Crazies to join me to help your lotto odds. Sorry, pal! I'd like to think that one out of the 8 of us would get drawn.
Guess that's about it. I think I've got interviews set for MTV Networks and a theatre production company. YAY! I'm still pulling for a call from Conan, Queer Eye, or this great sounding independent film company (a different one), but I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Popular works for MTV here in LA. I am not sure if it would make any difference, but maybe you could try PMing her and seeing if she has any advice.
Yeah, I am hoping that having so many people at Rent will make a difference, but there were a TON of people last Sunday, it's Merle Dandridge's final performance and it's the last weekend show before the movie. All things that could cause problems.
*hauls thread up to the top*
It's been a long tiring day today.
I'll PM you guys back in a mo'. Just need to veg for a smidge.
I would be concerned about the rush line-up given the movie's coming out that very week. I dunno, I'm just glad you've got a bunch of people upping your chances, Stephen!
*vegging time*
Hey all!
Yep, I haven't had internet access for awhile but now I'm back in an Internet Cafe. Pat, I just got your PM and responded, hope I'm not too late.
OTH was pretty cool. All that's there on the hill is the momunent, though (no tree stump). It's in the middle of this really great park, and I wandered around for a couple of hours. I listened to the song the whole time. I must have listened to it at least 20 times. It was a perfect day, and I think I got a few good pictures that I'll post once I'm home.
I've been doing all kinds of fun stuff and I'm enjoying my week of vacation! But I can't wait to get back to the States to see U2!
eta: I just read an email from my dad, and here's part of it:
"At a dinner on the last night I meet Walter Cronkite, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Kelly Stone, Rebecca deMornay and a bunch of other stars (Tim Robbins, Ravi Shankar, Roberta Flack etc..)..." Why does my dad get to meet cool people like that? Well, some of them are cool. Not fair.

Wow! What dinner was it?
There isn't even a stump there??? Aww...well if you ever go to Northern California (Pebble Beach, close to Carmel), there's the Lone Cypress, which is essentially the same thing! Right? Right??
Where are you now?
You're not too late, Claire. I responded to your PM.
That dinner does sound amazing.
Is anyone else completely transfixed by the new Madonna CD?
The beats are addicting.
I haven't gotten the new Madonna CD, but I'll take your word for it, Pat!
Has RENT been selling out lately? Even though the lotto is obviously ideal (being close and cheap!) would you be able to snag something at TKTS or rear mezz (I think those seats are only $40) if we ended up going 0 for 8??
Glad you had a nice day yesterday, Claire! It's a shame they don't even have a stump there. Very sad.
That dinner sounds ridiculous! And you need to tell your dad that it's not "Tim Robbins, it's Tim Robbinson"...well, at least according to Bono! () Did he chat them up or did they all just happen to be at the same function? Still cool either way though, I must say.
