I hope you enjoy it, Nic!
I know how great it is to have a recording of a show you went to.
Ooh, cool. I heard that Brandon Flowers joined them onstage, but I never heard for what song. I read an interview with him in RS where he said that he loves "In a Little While," so that doesn't surprise me. I would have loved to hear that! And "One Tree Hill"?! Ahh!
Nic, ordering rear mezz or obstructed view sounds good. If you're okay with picking up the tickets, that would be great. Let me know what day is good!
I'm off to work! Hopefully the little monsters won't give me any trouble!
Ooooh, good luck today, Claire!! You certainly didn't waste any time getting back into the swing of things.
Oh, and I found a picture on interference where you can (barely, thank GOD!) see me in GA!!! If you scroll down on this link to the pictures by blurmgrl (or something like that...they're the first batch from behind the stage) you can see me kind of to the left of a girl in red, behind the bald security guy w/ my arm up! Whoo!
Where's Waldo?!
Oh! I can see you!
If you scroll down to the closer ones w/ Edge, check out the guy w/ the green sweatshirt that looks like he's having an orgasm or something...that guy was a RIOT! He got his sweatshirt signed by Bono, and he was wearing a black, ankle length skirt and a white furry hat (think Penny Lane in Almost Famous...you know when she's peeing in front of William before he's "deflowered"). I wish he had the hat on in that picture! Claire said he had it on during part of the show.
Ha, that guy was hilarious! I watched him during the show (I had a good view of the ellipse). He was very into it. And yes, he wore his hat for part of it! I think he was with the kid who got pulled onstage during Sunday Bloody Sunday. He helped the kid up and down and seemed especially excited during that part.
How was work? Any fights? Have to send anyone to the office?!?!
I should probably make some sort of attempt to get some stuff done before class tonight. Not really feeling it though.
Work was uneventful, which was nice! No crazies in any of the classes. All the teacher left me to do was put on the video of 10 Things I Hate About You! So I got paid for watching a movie a few times. Tomorrow I'm subbing for a middle school social studies teacher, which might be more exciting.
Go do your work!
Uneventful is always good. That sounds like a cushy way to ease back in! How many times did you have to watch the movie?
All right. I guess I'm off to read some of White Teeth for tomorrow.

Hi, guys! Glad you all had such a fab show last week.
I'm not. Err, oh wait, are we putting on that facade of being happy for them still, Ellie? Huzzah!
My goodness, look at the Three Days of Rain cast!

I MUST see this show. I MUST. Okay, here's the dilly-yo, Nic. If the airline has another one of those ridiculously cheap CAD$139 seat sales next May to Boston, I'm flying out (and hopefully bringing Winnie in tow so we'll stay in a hotel) and we're getting our asses to New York to see this. Will you be in town then or back in New Hampshire?
Wow, paid to watch 10 Things I Hate About You? Good deal! What do you have to do in social studies tomorrow?
Listened to part of the 11/21 audio last night - lucky you guys!! (Thanks Stephen!) Are there any boots of Brandon Flowers in Vegas?

You're right. Damn them all to merry hell, the ****s.
I jest, naturally.
****ers.
Check out this adorable shop in Vancouver! www.opensundaes.com Isn't it cute? My friend works there and I just ordered an assload of stuff from them.
You checking out my girl Julia in the springtime?

I really want to see Julia. I am definitely going, no matter what. Hurrah. And Paul Rudd is cute too.
Speaking of cute, love your av, by the way. Pity we don't get to see his face properly. And on that note, how come Sirius is hardly in it?? Oh, well.
It depends when you're coming in May. I think my graduation in May 24th, and we're pretty much allowed to just kick around for the 10 days/2 weeks between the end of school and graduation, so if you come in the 15th-20/21st(ish) range, I should be here and totally free with nothing to do. I'll have family hear on/around the 24th, so that'd be out. Could be some seriously good times, though!!!
I just blew out of class 2 hours early. We were watching John Woo's The Killer, and the prof had to leave to tend to some plumming issues (). Definitely not my type of movie, and I'm not writing my final paper on it, so...don't really see any need to kick around watching a blood bath for 2 1/2 hours.
I was so disappointed by the lack of Sirius! They only gave Gary one scene, and he's totally CGI-ed? Not cool, Newell! Not cool at all! I also don't like Gambon's Dumbledore - why so angry, Albie? He's so yell-y and stuff. I miss Richard Harris. Oh, and was it just me or was Harry uncharacteristically (is that a word?) asshole-ish (that's MY word) when he was holding the egg in the common room and was all, "Do you want me to open it? Do you?" to rile the Gryffindors up? Since when was Harry such an attention whore?
Okay, so mid-to-late May works best then? I'm not putting much stock in it since I'm going to be seriously in debt from law school in the fall plus Europe in 2007 (I sort of only splurged like crazy last month in a maybe-I-won't-get-into-law-school-so-what-the-hell-did-I-save-all-this-money-for? depression) so it's totally unlikely that this will happen, but I love me my Julia!
The Killer? Never saw it. Which class is it for? I haven't seen much of John Woo's stuff, but he's quite stylistic, no?
PS. I'm soooo over Christmas. Soooooo. Can I be put into hibernation until after Valentine's Day? Please?

I noticed those same two things when I saw the film, Tiff! Dumbledore didn't seem as gentle as he should be, especially when he was screaming 'Silence!', etc. And why did he keep drifting into a Bono-esque Dublin accent? And the same with Mad-Eye Moody! And was Cho Chang always Scottish? Meh.
And I think you should consider a new career path, my dear Whiff, and put yourself up for election in January! Politics is full of ugly fat bald men, so you'd fit right in.
The Killer was for my Art of Film class. I only stayed for about 20 minutes of it. I was totally not in the mood for excessive blood and guts tonight, stylistically shot or not.
I just checked the academic calandar. The last day of finals is May 15th. Theoretically I may be done earlier than that, but ya never know (finals start the 8th). So yeah, mid-May would be ideal...should you decide to totally splurge and make the pilgrimage out to see Miss Julia.
And I know nothing about this Potter business, so I guess just talk amongst yourselves.

Ooh, I'll be home by mid-May! And I have to see that show. I ADORE Paul Rudd.
I haven't yet seen the newest Harry Potter; I've been way too busy since I got home. But I've read all the books and seen the first three movies! I've heard lots of things about the newest film, but the general idea I get is that most people like it. Too bad about a lack of Sirius, though.
Tomorrow I think I get to show another video (I don't know what it is, though). Teachers have no faith in subs so they just give them videos to show, and I love it!
Dan Radcliffe annoys you? Wh-wh-wh-why??? I'm no cradle robber or nothin', but he seems like a cool guy! You're not just bitter because he said he's not a Green Day fan, are you? That lost him points with me - he said that Green Day and other American bands just sound like Good Charlotte, and I'm all, "Good Charlotte came AFTER Green Day, you git!" But he likes Arcade Fire and Franz Ferdinand so all is forgiven.
Ugh, I think I'm about to be dragged out against my will.

He just seems overly-excited and very rehearsed in his interviews and on the red carpet. A contradiction in terms perhaps, but there you go. It's how I feel. I like your new avatar even more than the Voldy one. Cedric is yummy.
Quick poll - Cedric or Victor?
Cedric! I feel like a wee bit of a jail bait mommy, but gosh this boy is GORGEOUS! I'd lick him. Viktor looks like he missed a few steps on the path of evolution.
Did you read Dan Radcliffe's Rolling Stone interview? Finally someone admits that Quidditch is so boring! I'm so glad JK Rowling's through after Luna's commentary game in HP6.
Eeek, it's me looking like an ass in GA!!! *bites nails* There are reports that there were a bunch of cameras around the arena filming the show (and there was a guy on stage the whole night)...the very idea of this show being filmed, preserving my horrific dancing and shameless vying for Bono/Adam's attention for all time is mortifying!!!
ETA: Hey! It didn't work! Oh well. I guess you don't need to see me looking like an ass anyway!
ETA2: Here's a link to some pix from the 11/21 show. One has that crazy hat guy w/ his hat ON!!! HAHAH!!!
11/21 MSG
Hehe. You look fine in that picture (the one that you tried to post), but there are some other people who probably wouldn't be too happy with it being circulated. And I told you that guy was wearing the hat for part of the show!
I just got back from work. Where I watched the most boring movie ever. On Mesopotamia. Four times.
