Just a quick hello to everyone!
Sorry for not being more talkative. Life's been busy.
I am here for the rest of the day though cleaning up my iTunes directory.
I ended up getting a 60GB iPod this weekend because it was too much of a pain to continue choosing what to put on the U2 iPod.
So now, I have the big 60GB video and Anjilly is using the U2. She never really wanted an iPod, but I think she's going to love it.
The new iPod is Sweeney Pod. Here is the engraving on the back:
Oh my gosh, I LOVE that, Patronus!
Okay, Patty does the questionnaire. Then I'll do it. Too much excitement today!
Thanks gals!
I was going to take the survey, but I decided that since a lot of the questions are aimed at school I'd just feel like a dumbass.
Only two, Stephen! Hurry up!
Crap! Fine.
1. Where have you been in the last 2 months? (Location-wise)
Los Angeles
2. Where are you now?
Los Angeles
3. Where will you be this time next month?
Los Angeles
4. Why have we all let this thread die over the last 2 months?
The tour is over. There has been a collective "climax" in regards to U2.
5. Are you working/interning? If so, where? If not, why are you a failure in this one simple necessity?
Yes. I work for a real estate company.
6. What are you doing in the fall?
Working for said Real Estate company
7. What movies/books/interesting random things have you seen/read/done?
Um, I saw Brokeback Mountain. I read The Color Purple which I loved. I am currently studying Sondheim intensely.
8. How goes the love life?
Happy as always.
9. Is it COLD where you are? (It's so sunny here!)
See question 1-3.
10. Who's your daddy? Bono! doesn't count. He ain't mah daddy. He mah baby daddy.
Right now, it's Stephen Sondheim.
Updated On: 1/22/06 at 07:15 PM
Now was that so hard?? Granted, apparently there wasn't a whole lot to catch up on. What's with the Sondheim love now?
Not sure really. Just really want to study musical theatre more and I figured I'd start with the best.
Are there any regional/community Sondheim productions or are you content reliving your night with Patty for all eternity?
Quarter of 8 and still no roommate. *bites nails*
That's quite the snazzy iPod you've got there, Pat!! Have you put a dent in your 60 gigs yet? I seem to recall your having a rather sizable music collection, so I have a feeling you'll be filling that baby up pretty quickly!
Ok, Tiff...you're turn on the questionnaire. What's up on the job/internship/law school front?!?!?
Ha. I'll be seeing Miss Patti in less than a week. :)
There are quite a few productions going on around here. I am going to see Sweeney Todd here in LA in early September.
Not to mention the Julia Murney TL5Y.
Nicole, I have about 27 GB remaining. I'll probably have enough room for all the legal stuff...but they the footwear...oy vey.
I'm not sure how much room I have left on my 30 gig DellPod. I've got a stack of stuff to add that I picked up over the winter break, so I'll do a re-assessment of my standings after that, I suppose...And yeah, I'd imagine footwear will do a number on those 27 remaining GB!!
Is Sweeney Todd the touring or a regional production? There was Broadway tour in Seattle fairly recently.
You have tickets for JRB and Julia's TL5Y? Oh no you di'n't!!
Mabel, if Crazy walks in the door, I will start to cry with laughter.
Is Sweeney Todd the touring or a regional production? There was Broadway tour in Seattle fairly recently.
It's a regional production by an All-Asian theatre group called East West Players. They do really good work. When they put on Sweeney Todd in 1994 it won multiple Ovation Awards.
You have tickets for JRB and Julia's TL5Y? Oh no you di'n't!!
Yep, it's part of my package at Reprise! Row F Orchestra on the aisle.
JRB and Murney doing L5Y?!?! When did this happen?!?! I know I haven't really been on-line this month, but I didn't think I was so out of the loop that I didn't even have a vague sense of such interesting goings-on! Ugh.
One night only in Los Angeles. January 30.
JRB is Jamie. Julia Murney is Cathy.
Stephen is drooling.
Not sure if you caught it or not Nicole, but Julia Murney is also going to be replacing Stephanie Block as Elphaba on the Wicked tour.
Nic, you have GOT to come on here more often.
Oh, what else have you missed...Shoshana screwed up her vocal cords on her second-to-last performance as Elphaba and had to be replaced mid-way through. Sound familiar?
(And no, that's not the most notable theatre news, but since we brought up Elphaba...)
Oh, and DayDreamer, camerangel and I are seeing Wedding Singer in Seattle next month!
Tiff, I love how you're harassing everyone about your questionnaire but you still haven't taken it.
Ahhhh...I'm so lost.
You'll have to be sure to fill us all in on Wedding Singer. I have very low expectations for Benanti. She has a lovely voice, but she seems so frigid to me.
Tiff! Survey! Now!
(I'm bored; I'm sick of reading Ellison.)
Fiiiiine. And you better be voting for BWW Idol, if you're so bored! It's my baby!
1. Where have you been in the last 2 months? (Location-wise)
Florida, the western Caribbean and Vancouver.
2. Where are you now?
Vancouver, but will be going to Seattle in a couple of weeks to hang out with DayDreamer and Camerangel!
3. Where will you be this time next month?
In financial debt hell. And Vancouver.
4. Why have we all let this thread die over the last 2 months?
Because it's no fun unless all of us are online and have something to talk about. But if Nicole should ever have the genius idea of letting it die again, I'll be sure to mention that Pop was my least favorite album of the '80s, and then we'll be back to normal. Oh, and because BWW Idol has taken up a lot of time. Some people are crappy but I'm surprised at the amount of hugely talented amateurs we have! Some are better than the pros!
5. Are you working/interning? If so, where? If not, why are you a failure in this one simple necessity?
I haven't worked since last year, but my Supernatural episode should be airing next week, so you better be watching IN AWE OF THE LOCATIONS!! And I've been still doing the interning thing for the politician, who - thank GOD - agreed to write me reference letters for all the law schools I applied to, so I'm very happy and scared ****less that she'll forget. I need that reference letter or I'm screwed. I need to find another consistent job because I don't want to PA in this wet, cold weather, but I've been too lazy to look. And now my bank account is in the low 3-digits.
6. What are you doing in the fall?
Hopefully doing law school outside of BC or else I'll be forced to move out, in which case I'll be working illegally in New York or flipping burgers in Vancouver.
7. What movies/books/interesting random things have you seen/read/done?
Movies...Memoirs of a Geisha and Last Holiday. I've already discussed my thoughts on Memoirs. Last Holiday was cute fluff, only made good because of Latifah. Otherwise it would be such a bore. Nothing new on the literary front - read BBM by Annie Proulx and was bored to tears (I didn't like Shipping News either). Oh, and I've been reading organized tour booklets (Trafalgar, In Sight, Globus, etc.). That is my new porn.
8. How goes the love life?
Non-existent but soon to change! Adam, the Chinese former co-worker, finally asked me out...except he leaves Canada for good at the end of the month. No matter! I suggested seeing BBM before I realized this was a "date-date" and now I'm wondering if that's a sexual mood killer for straight men. (I know it's not a mood killer for straight women! )
9. Is it COLD where you are? (It's so sunny here!)
Now it's rainy and cold. I jinxed it by gloated when I wrote out the survey.
10. Who's your daddy? Bono! doesn't count. He ain't mah daddy. He mah baby daddy.
It changes for every movie I watch.
It's about time.
When does voting start for BWW Idol? I listened to the clips of the 3 groups in round 1, and there were some really good people in there. So I'll vote!
And thumbs up on the guy development! I don't think BBM would be a turn-on for straight guys, but that doesn't mean its a sexual mood killer either. Keep us posted!
Voting's already started. Group 1 went today and the top 5/8 move on. Group 2 is tomorrow and we'll also take the top 5/8. (And personally, I think group 2 may even be better than group 1. Shh!)
How are you loving your new apt? Decorated it yet? When does Nicole visit?
I'm downloading Group 1 as I type! (I was about to write "as we speak," but wer're not really speaking).
My new room is beautiful. It's covered with posters (Almost Famous, Sex and the City, U2, Dave Matthews Band) and its really big. I just had my whole synchro team drilling in here and we had tons of space. Anyone is welcome to come visit, although Richmond isn't exactly the most happenin' city.
How's the rent? One bedroom, did you say? Are you still teaching? (I swear I read the surveys, and half of it is absorbed, and half of it is rattling around with the air in my head.)
