eBay may be drastically cutting down the number of tickets that scalpers can sell (I think mostly people selling significantly higher than face value) so you may be able to get a good deal there in a few days!

Tiff, I'm not sure what you're willing to pay...for me, it was $50 tix or nothing...I think if you do Best Available, you can pick BA in a certain price range, so you don't end up w/ a case of "****, $200 tix came up and I can't afford those!" and it's pretty much a case of what you get the first time around is all you're going to get. I don't know. I actually think there's not a whole lot of skill or any rhyme or reason involved. Though Tiff, if you've got a bunch of friends trying for tix, and you're willing to go to Seattle, I'd say have some friends try for Vancouver and some try for Seattle. Hell, even if you only get Seattle, you may be able to trade it for Vancouver on interference or elsewhere.

Well, if the stage set up is really that thing with the run in the middle and the B stage at the end, then I would LOVE to get GA tickets, so I'll probably choose that first, and then if I can't get any, I'll go back and choose best available. Maybe I'll have two windows open, one on .ca and one on .com. So many decisions, decisions!

What did you do and why didn't it work out for you?

That's what I did. I searched for GA first, and then when that came up with no results, I went back and did BA, which also came back with no results. The three other people who were trying for me did the same thing.

Oh geez. Okay so I'll just put in Best Available then, as much as I'd hate to spend $165 on a SH*Tty ticket in the lower bowl area. When you went back to find more tickets, did you use a new window? How many times did you keep trying? There were a few reports of people trying a few times and eventually getting tickets because other people's transactions timed out.

I only used one window the whole time. That may have been my problem. And I kept trying over and over (best available) until 9:30 when I had to leave, so for half an hour. Can you choose best available in a specific price range like mabel suggested? If thats possible, do that. The GA and the highest up seats should be the same price, so if you don't get GA, you should get one of the cheap seats.

Wow! I just saw the Vertigo video on TV for the first time a few minutes ago!! I'm so pumped for this show!!

Good call. Yeah, I was on the ticketbastard site and I can choose my price range and then choose which section I want for that price range. I think I'll have one window on $49.50, and then another window on Best Available. I'm just worried if I'm faced with "No seats available" and $165 seats, respectively, whether to give them up and search again and risk losing those seats, or what.

Just a quickie (well, not really!)...Tiff, I would highly suggest that tonight you try (for any concert, pick Duran Duran if you want, anyone) and try getting tix w/ two windows/browsers open (it sounded like that's your game plan for tomorrow). I tried it once (for some random concert before U2 went on sale) and the second window got timed out/frozen. I'm not sure if that was just a flukey thing, or if it'll always freeze up like that. For me, the fact that it did that on the first try, it was reason enough not to risk it w/ the real tix. Also, if you don't get tix on your first try, by all means, keep on plugging away trying for tix. It all happened so fast, but I think I may have tried for the cheapies more than once. I don't remember...It was just like "No tix available" ok...Again, again, again, swivel, check the other computers, again, again, again...POW! Nosebleeds!!! I'll take 'em!!! (And all that happened in like 10-15 minutes!) I'd say don't give up for a half an hour/45 minutes. Don't just go through one try at each ticket option. I've read lots of cases where systems get timed out and tix are lost. Also, if someone doesn't get all their shipping/credit card info in the alotted 2 minutes, they lose their tix. Keep plugging away! Try for whatever you can. Take whatever you can. You'll always be able to sell them if you've got a friend trying for tix and you both end up w/ a pair (or however many). Try, try, try for GAs. If you get them and decide later that you'd rather have seated tix, you'll absolutely be able to trade them. It seems like there's a neverending supply of fans looking to "upgrade" to GAs. Also, do you already have an account w/ ticketmaster? I didn't and realized at like quarter to 10 that you were supposed to have one! I'm not sure if you have to ahead of time, but the quicker you can make the checkout process, the less likely you'll be to get timed out and loose potentially snagged tix! Good luck!!!! Seriously?? 130,000 in 50 minutes?! Apparently ticketbastard smartened up for the Seattle/Vancouver pre-sale, and release GA tickets periodically over the last few days, which is a great idea. I wonder if they'll do that for general sale as well. But Ellie, check .com periodically for NYC - you never know if more tix will go on sale (esp. if the speculation is right and these "new" tickets are popping up on ticketmaster because they're cancelling the ones bought by scalpers to sell on eBay). Plus, as I think mabel or #1 said, tickets will go onsale the day of or the day before the concert.

Mabel, I'm printing out your last post. I'm absolutely terrified now. I'll be trying for Seattle at 11am if Vancouver doesn't work - to be honest, I think the Seattle crowd is a better concert audience than Vancouver, but I'm more than happy with either. I'll have two, possibly 3 computers going at once, but they'll all be from the same IP location so I don't know if that will screw me over. I'm going to do that little experiment now and see what happens. I'm so anxious about this and I figure I've got about a 30 second window before I have a slim chance of getting tickets. I will keep trying for 30-45 minutes though.

I've officially decided to skip my simulated exam tomorrow. This is too important.

Oh no!!! I didn't mean to freak you out! I hope your simulated exam isn't too important! Ellie, I never confirmed it was the Scissor Sisters! I said rumor had it that they may be the opening act later on in one of the legs! My very first post on this thread said it was Kings of Leon, you cheesedoodle!

There should be more MSG shows in October/November, and if budget permits, I would LOVE to be there for my birthday.

I've always enjoyed U2, but before seeing them at the Brooklyn concert, it was never a freak out, fan girly, clammer for tix kind of fandom...BUT, I must say, after being purty damn close at the Brooklyn gig, I swear, I've never, NEVER had such a swoony girl moment in my entire life!!! It was like "BONNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOO!!!" swoooon! I swear! It was CRAZY! I think the thing w/ GAs (as much, if not more than being close to a man that just oozes sex like no one else I have ever seen, is that the crowd down front is AMAZING! It was out of this world, absolutely the most energetic crowd! And that really makes for a fabulous concert experience! I'm so scared that the nosebleeds will be dead, audience wise...almost more sad about that than being so far back (sight wise). That, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be a super piss drunk crowd (god, they can ruin a concert like no other!) I'm all about having a good time, but I don't get being totally drunk out of your minds when there are tons of people (like Elphie and Ellie and MadeofGold who would love to be there!)

Hey, they took down the stage layout on the AZ ticketmaster page! Just my little pre-bed musings. Oh and it was deleted from craigslist (so I can't post the exact "offer") but I guess some guy was like "hey any hot girl willing to sleep w/ me can get a free ticket to see U2!" Can you believe that! YIKES!!! Anyway, I'm off...One last "Best of luck!!!" to Tiff!!! Go get 'em!!!

Bump...any luck Tiff?!?! I hope you scored some tix!!! Out of curiosity, I tried a couple of times, but didn't come up w/ anything. I figured if I got any, I could sell them to you if you didn't luck out, and if you did, there'd be pleanty of other takers! I hope you were able to get something, if not, get ready for Seattle!!!! Sending positive vibes!!!

ETA: Did you see that a second date was added for Vancouver? They aren't on sale yet, but keep checking back. I don't think that was there when I was trying 15-20 mintues ago (of maybe I'm blind?!?!?)
