Freshman year was the slob.
Sophomore year was the nympho (god, she was loud!), the pathelogical liar, and the fruitarian (actually, she's my best friend, just a little wacky to live w/ on a daily basis...and no longer a fruitarian, btw)
And last semester was the other three. The stripper came in November. My inital roommate moved out the second week of classes to live w/ a friend who never got a roommate (of course, she was perfectly nice!) It was a two bedroom suite (w/ a mini-fridge for four people and no oven or microwave...fun w/o a meal plan!) I put up w/ the druggie and the germaphobe, since I had a bedroom to myself, but once the stripper came in...I was outta there!
Indeed it is! And thanks, I think I'll need it!
Night Elphie!

Hey, leave the germaphone alone!
*applies Purell*
But better luck next time! That sounds like a tres sucky system, alright. I'll cross my fingers for you! At least you have your U2 shows to look forward to, right?
And now I bid you a fond adieu. I must go to bed, so I can wake up and go through the same routine all over again! Hooray!
*goodnight hugs all round*
Eh, the germaphobe was also a raging bitch, but I needed to give her a name, and bitch is tossed around so flippantly.
Anyway, night Ellie! I'm off myself. Can't believe it's 1 already!
How dare this thread expand without my presence! What do you think this is, the Don't Let The Conversation Revolve Around Tiff thread? Silly girls.
*prod* Anyone still around? So much for waking up in time for the east coast Apprentice! I barely woke up in time for the Pacific airing!
Anyway, er, to get caught up on this pitiful conversation (pitiful because, again, it doesn't revolve around me), my financial situation makes me think that my Europe trip is not a good idea at all. I was down to $36 in my bank account with a few hundred dollars in U2 tickets to pay off on my credit card, and then my trip ended up getting cut down by a week, so I saved an extra few hundred dollars. Now I've got <$1000 in my bank account, and it has to last me from now until...well...that's it. I wish I had AT LEAST $3000 for Europe alone, and I'm screwed because I still have to pay my parents for a portion of the rent and bills, as well as my tuition and living arrangements in the fall. (Hence the reason the MSG shows are in a "Maybe...maybe not..." limbo.)
Anyway, I'm still excited about Europe but there's something grossy unappealing about draining my entire meagre bank account dry. I have a high credit limit but no funds to pay it off in the end! I'm still looking for a summer job to pay for my deal in the fall (if I even HAVE a place to go to
) but I screwed myself by being gone for most of May, which is when most of the college student-qualified jobs begin (it being the beginning of summer semester and all). I had some good prospects lined up - crime prevention research assistant, criminology advisor assistant, and a marketer at a local theatre, but they all require a start date in the beginning/middle of May.
So that's my long, rambly problem. I'm broke, don't know what I'm going to do with my degree (I'm actually frightened about graduating - my last undergrad day is next Thursday!), or what I'm going to do in the fall. I'm actually dreading Europe now, which is such a shame because it should be the trip of a lifetime, and I adore travelling, culture, food, history and art (and theatre *duh*) more than anything so I hate having to watch my spending there.

*still here*
Well, I did go to bed. Well I got ready for bed, at least. That's a start. *proud of self*
Aw, Tiff...it was all about self-pity tonight, so your post fits right in. Of course, if you'd bothered to catch up on our 'pitiful conversation', you'd know that. And you'd know that we too are clueless when it comes to our future...and do we get even a token 'Aw, that sucks, Mabel!' in your long rant? Of course not. Tsk.
We were a cheery lot tonight.
But aww, I do feel sorry for you regarding Europe. Even sorrier than I usually feel for you!
You mean...talking about someone other than myself? How...pedestrian.
Really though, Mabs, are you looking for a roommate in NYC? Because BST is looking for an apartment in the fall, so you should definitely get in touch with her and see if you guys can work something out! She's probably looking for a place by Union Square, but I don't think she's picky, if the price is right. Oh, that'll be so much fun and I'll be crashing with you guys in October...consider it!
(Thinks maybe she's misinterpreted Mabel's posts, since eyes were glazing over reading the last 3 pages because they didn't involve...well..moi.)

Well, you do have very distinctive breath.
I was just replying to Mabel so you can't accuse me of neglecting her needs and problems.
So what was #1's problem? Do I HAVE to go back and read everything?

I see.

I think I will go to bed now.

Goodnight! Again...

Thought of one!
Tiff is a skank.
*cries*
You're on FIRE, Ellie.
Or maybe that burning sensation is just that rash thay mysteriously appeared when Paradox was refusing your pitiful advances.
*sigh* guess I should have just come back on-line while I was lying in bed for an hour and a half trying to will myself to sleep!
Tiff, we'll have to talk about the MSG trip. If you'd like, I can just pay off the CC for now and hold off on your paying me until sometime this summer. That way you can have some time to wrangle up some cash, and if you don't end up deciding to come, I can just try to find a friend who'd want to go/sell it on interference/try to sell it for a tidy profit on eBay. Certainly not what I'd like to do, but if it means increasing your odds of coming by giving you some extra tiem, then that's cool!
I was scanning over my posts last night. Boy did I come off as self-loathing. Sorry guys. I guess you just need to rant every now and again though. I really wasn't fishing for sympathy or compliments or anything. It was definitely more about marvelling at the fact that I've gotten this far being as incredibly lazy as I am!
Anyway, thanks for the tip on B_S_T, Tiff. I'll have to send her a PM. I'd love to end up in the Union Square area, but I have a feeling it'd end up out of my pricerange. Definitely worth a look-see though! Since as of right now, I have zero serious prospects.
I couldn't sleep last night either. It was over 80 degrees and they still haven't turned on our air conditioning. Yuck. I woke up all sweaty and exhausted.
So on The Killers tour dates website they have an email address that you can send questions to. I sent them an email asking how much tickets cost to the NYC show and whether they were assigned seats or general admission. Two simple questions. Here is the email they sent me back: "Presale tickets on sale April 11th, 11am." That's it. Did they even read my email?
Anyway, I looked at the tickets that are already on sale for their other concerts during this tour, and they're all between $14-$25. So I'm guessing it'll cost somewhere in that range. I'll find out on Monday I guess and let you know, mabel. If you'd be interested that would be great, if not, don't worry about it.
When was the concert again? June 6th? I'll scan back through the earlier pages. $14-25, I could handle. I'd just have to do a double check on the date (if it's a weekend, etc since I won't be *in* the city this summer and would have to train it in/out w/ work the next morning).
ETA: Just looked back and saw that it's Sat June 4th. I could swing that.
Hi girls,
I've been pretty much offline this week--it turns out I have a sinus infection and it spread to my eye (bleah!) So I haven't been keeping up so much.
Anyway, I LOVE the Celine white-suit pics! Thanks!!
All the upcoming travels sound amazing. And don't worry about that vague I-excell-in-liberal-arts-what the hell am I doing-thing....it doesn't exactly go away with time, but it's pretty normal I think?
Mabel, I totally remember your telling me about the stripper roommate--sorry to hear that hasn't improved much. Bummer
So we got our pictures back from the concert--they're not great, but there are a few good ones where you can really see the stage. I'll upload some sometime this weekend.
Don't encourage her, GrownUp! She's just going to post more white-suit pics of Celine! (Or, now that she realizes she's so predictable, she'll surprise us and not. How 'bout that??)
Mabel, don't worry about me delaying the payment for the tickets. I'll be sure to have it done before I leave for Europe so I know what parameters I have for spending. Plus I don't know how last-minute my confirmation will be since I won't find out if I'm going to school anywhere in the fall until May. Not to mention the fangirl in me just wants to sleep with a pair of MSG tickets to U2 beside my bed.
And don't worry about ranting once in a while! That's what we're here for, and it's therapeutic, isn't it?
*jealous of you guys for getting to see Green Day, The Killers AND U2 in the same year!*

You're most welcome, Groupie! Any time!
Aww, well at least the living football is cute. But didn't Michael Jackson get in trouble for that very same thing?
And do my eyes beseech me, or did you really respond here before you responded to a thread dedicated to "my" mufugliness?

Well, of course I saw that thread, but I was too afraid to click on it, lest the subject line be true. I don't want to turn to stone just yet, thank you very much!
*is gorgeous*

Oops, well I hadn't clicked on that thread either...again, the possibility of it being about you was too great a risk.
*is still gorgeous*
Oh dear, is this a hint for the level of wit we're in for tonight?
BTW, when's Charlie and Mr. Ed's wedding tonight?
Broadway Legend Joined: 9/20/04
Huh? They're getting married tomorrow, I thought...sometime tomorrow afternoon their time, 12.30ish I believe, which would make it....7.30am my time, and 4.30am your time!
*is a genius at math*
*a gorgeous genius*
Is it that late? I thought it was in the early morning, like 8 or 9am, making it midnight or 1am MY time and...well, that's all that matters.
Yay for U2 tickets going on sale tomorrow!!
