Wow, ouch. Go see.
And Happy 1.5k post. *deflated 'Whoo'*
The time has come, ladies. 9 minutes until Vegas tickets go on sale...*rubs hands in sweaty anticipation*
Okay, so if I get general admission, do I have to sell them? Maybe New York isn't that big of a deal after all...
Cripes. How is it possible that I typed everything flawlessly, was there right when it went on sale, and was told where was no GA within 30 seconds? I could only get 2 singles for $52. Same type of seats that we have for MSG.
Good lord, 38 minutes later and there are still singles in the lower bowl available, and occasionally $52 ones. Not good. Not good at all. Doubt there's going to be a Nov. 5 show at this rate.
45 minutes later and singles are still available.
Aw, sorry Tiff. At least now you don't have to decide whether or not to sell the GAs you were hoping on getting.
True, but now my hopes of getting GAs for the second show are probably dashed if it doesn't happen. Wow...53 minutes and still singles are available. This is almost as bad as Chicago!
I'm shocked that there would still be singles available after an hour. I was under the impression that LV'd be an incredibly hot ticket, especially considering they'd only be playing one show there.
Sorry it didn't work out, but at least you've got GA for Seattle, and it makes the decision about whether MSG would be worth it much easier!
Yay for MSG! My loyalty lay with it anyway! *shifty eyes*
I think singles just sold out a few minutes ago. I'm in shock. It look an hour and a HALF for this show to sell out? I bet once the second show isn't announced, all those people holding out are gonna be kicking themselves!
Jesus Christ, I JUST pulled up second-level seats. 1 hour and 40 minutes after it went on sale.
I'm actually hoping there isn't a second show announcement so my $52 singles will sell for more! (Maybe to balance out my karma, I'll sell one at face value to an Interferencer and one on eBay with a face value starting bid?)
I agree. Seems kind of crazy if you ask me. I was totally under the impression that they were going to be a total bitch to get *any* tix to. Obviously GAs are gonna be tough anywhere, but I was fully expecting it to be totally sold out w/in 20 minutes or so. Shows how savvy I am!
Oh well...guess you'll just have to settle for NYC. Such a pisser!
Someone wants to trade his $50 single MSG seats (10/11 and 10/14) for single LV seats. I don't think I can go since I'll be flying out on 10/11, but did you want me to trade for them and you can go yourself?

No, I don't think so...if it was for one of the November shows, I'd be tempted, but not for another October...Unless GAs were in the picture, I don't think I could justify a third concert that weekend...So, you did end up getting a single(s) for LV?
ETA: The 221 for the 14th would be tempting...but no. I can't do it! Just say no!
221...goooood seats. *squint* I'm assuming those are $50 ones, right?
Goooood seats...closing night...You know you want to...
Oooh, of course I want to (and yeah, I'm sure they're fabulous seats!)...that's not the issue! It's more the fact that I need to come to my senses and just say "three shows in one week is just too much!" *sigh* I really would have been tempted if it was November. Not that I'm not tempted anyway. Blech! Maybe you can sell it on eBay for $100 or so and make up pay for your other tix that didn't get paid for w/ the Vancouver eBay venture. Have you checked out eBay w/ the LV tix?
ETA: Phew, I'm pretty sure 221 is NOT a $50 section. I think I read somewhere that 219 started the SUPER expensive $170 seats. So, that definitely makes it easier!
*waves option in front of Mabel* (You know, I don't know how you got 'Mabel' considering your name is nothing close to it!)
Gooood seats, Mabel. Once, er, twi-,thr-fourice (hee) in a life time experience! I understand though. 3 shows in a week. My god.
I think I'll sell on eBay. I'm actually kind of hoping a second show doesn't go on sale, then the demand will be a lot higher, right? I still can't believe it took TWO HOURS! (And counting - once in a while, I can still get top dollar singles.) I was expecting something like MSG for sure. I wonder what happened? I think there was confusion over if Nov 5 was a certainty or not, so when the good seats were snapped up, people were holding out for the second show to be announced and no one wanted to buy crap or expensive singles.
I checked out eBay briefly for LV tix to see how much the lower bowl ones I had would go for, got mad that there were so many pairs of GAs, and then left. I'll go check again. I think I'll wait a day or two until it's confirmed if there will/won't be a 2nd show.
Not sure if you saw, but I edited my last post to say that I'm pretty sure the 221's are expensive seats, definitely not in the $50 range, so I can comfortably say that I'll pass!
Oh, and my mom used to call me Mabel as a nickname when I was little. It's from a cartoon called the Timbertoes in Highlights (a children's magazine we used to subscribe to when I was 5 or so). The daughter's name was Mabel, and I guess it just stuck. She still calls me it every once in a while when I do something really stupid. "Hey, Mabel! What were you thinking?!?!?" or "That's a red light there, Mabel. Step on the breaks!" (I'm not much of a driver )
Nope, I just noticed your edit when you mentioned it. Well, that makes it a bit easier, doesn't it? I think I was mistaking 221 for 211 (we have those, right?), which makes a big difference.
Yay for MSG! I can't wait! (Still looking at travel options, and possibly hotels in case BST doesn't have room in her dorm in October. )
Heh, I wouldn't be much of a driver either if I lived in NYC. (Where are you from again?)
Gah!!!! VEGAS, baby, VEGAS!!!!!!!!
Woohoo!
Maybe not the most amazing seats--and god knows they're expensive--but we are so excited! We were like a couple of crack whores with the laptop next to the desktop searching and searching. The first ones we pulled up were section 104 row GG and we snapped them up, paranoid that nothing else would come. It's upper level, but directly across from the stage and a really good vantage point--so will be different from San Diego. We kept searching and got two for $52 behind the stage and then another pricey set from more sideways--similar to the SD ones but the other side--and we let both of those sets go. We totally toyed with the idea of what Tiff is doing and selling on ebay or something (we should have done it with the behind the stage ones) but we were all jumpy and adrenalized and not thinking straight! The pairs were gone at 10:05AM!! Then we kept searching around for singles, and like everyone's said, they stuck around longer than expected. (We didn't bother for GA b/c I'm just too short and it's nice to sit.)
Anyway, it doesn't seem real! And we just booked plane/hotel tix too--it's a silly splurge, but a pretty good deal I guess? on Vegas.com. I would have been happy saving money at the San Remo, but we decided to spend a little more and will stay AT the MGM!!!! Woohoo!
I was amazed how much simpler this was than San Diego--maybe b/c that was for the opening night (and then we didn't even get that)?
Mabel, your Irish pub sounds great! There's a sort of similar minor-serving, great-jukebox, questionable-bathroom joint called Mooney's in Brooklyn (right off the 7th Ave stop on the Q) which I loved, but I never went to your place
Ellie, I KNOW I'm not supposed to encourage you, but I LOVE that awful oneshouldered oscar dress!!
Tiff, keep us posted on what you do--the karma will all balance out and you will be fine. We were just to chicken to end up doing it w/ some singles.
Can you tell I'm amped up on my sinus meds? hee. Between Wicked in LA, U2, and the WIGGLES (I'm serious--I have a 2.5 year old nephew), I have become Ticketschmaster's biatch.
Have a great day ladies....I promise to upload the pics sometime this weekend, though they aren't great.
Anyone know when Hairspray and Ave. Q start in Vegas? I'm way too scared to ask on the main board
*squeal for Groupie* AWESOME!! You should have told me you were trying for Vegas and I would have looked for the good ones to sell you for face value! I had section L6 row F or something and I threw them back because I was like, "US$393 on my credit card for that?!"! Still, at least you've got the good seats!
I'm so excited for you! What hotel are you staying at? I heard all of the strip tripled their prices in anticipation for this!
I don't know who these scalpers were trying to kid with some of these prices!! Either there were a lot of Buy It Now auctions and they were all snapped up, or else they're laying low for now.

Out of the 18 auctions, only, like 2 have bids!

So did you get LV tickets? Never mind, I don't care.
You bloody scalper, you!
Two singles. And as of like, almost 3 hours later, the singles weren't even sold out. *cries*

Well, I'm sure you'll still be able to hawk them on eBay. You might even make a $5 profit! Filthy scalper.
Dare I ask about your assignment? I looked at the website...er, is it bad that the links don't work?

Five whole dollars?? Well, that made the hours of waiting entirely worthwhile! *headdesk*
Yeah...let's just say, BST told me the links don't work and I went, "No they work. That's it."
