Well, I'm back from Hurlyburly. We got front row center tix. I'd heard that people start lining up around 5 for the tix that go on sale at 6, so we got there a little before 5. It was pretty much my only shot to see it, and I didn't want to take any chances! So, of course no one else showed up until quarter of 6!!! Oh well. It was fun. I'd never seen the movie, so I didn't have to deal w/ comparisons to those performances. Totally worth the $25 to see a bunch of actors that I enjoy!
I'm off to check interference, though I don't know if I'm up to watching for the whole setlist. We'll see how long I make it!
*sigh* so I guess I'm all alone.
*starts singing song from Spamalot.*
I'll post the setlist anyway and update it as we go along because I'm a loser like that and I don't feel like working on my paper anymore.
ETA: oh good, a buddy! I'm glad you enjoyed Hurlyburly, mabel.

Yeah, it was fun. The friend I went w/ didn't really like it that much, but whatever, I got to see Ethan Hawke's ass from the front row, and that's A-OK by me!!! Oh, I also spotted Eric McCormack, Mike Nichols, and the replacement Dave from The Full Monty (was also in Henry IV w/ Hawke) at the show!
*SOOOO jealous that Tiff's gotten Gloria, and will more than likely get Bad*...WENCH!!!
Wow! Sounds like it was definitely worth the $25.
I don't care much for Gloria, but if she does get Bad...boy will I be jealous.
I really like Gloria myself, especially the fact that they each (especially Adam) seem to get their own little moment in the song, and then all come together really nicely.

And I'm off! I'll check back tomorrow morning for the final setlist! Night, Elphie...Ellie, can't wait to hear how Green Day was...and Tiff, hope you made it into the bomb shelter!!! Can't wait for a full report!
Night, mabel!
Don't worry, I'm continuing my update (though I don't know how long I'll last).
Ooh, he brought a girl onstage during SYCMIOYO...I wonder if it was Tiff!
Ok, I'm really off this time, but I just read Bono brought a girl up for SYCMIOYO...oooh, the possibilities!!!
Okay, you have no idea how jealous I am. They played Bad (my favorite song ever). I will now echo mabel's previous sentiments with...WENCH!!!
Nah, I'm happy for ya, Tiff. Sounds like an amazing concert.
Okay, I'm off to bed. Sounds like a perfect concert. Possibly missing Zoo Station, but it sounds like they more than made up for that. I can't wait to hear all about it!

I'd say, from what I can see, the only real trip up would be no 40. Sure, it's fun to go out w/ a bang, and be part of one of the only shows where the boys re-live their old days, playing a song twice, but w/ so many amazing songs, it would have to be the teansiest bit disappointing to get one song twice. That's it...totally scraping the bottom of the barrel to find one thing that would have been disappointing in this amazing looking setlist! Hope you had an awesome time, Tiff! It sure as hell looks like you should have!!!
<------Jealous...but in a good way!
Wow. Pretty cool, Tiff.
<--------even more jealous, but also in a good way.
I know! Sounds near perfect, especially for Tiff, who wasn't all that crazy about hearing Yahweh anyway. *shakes head*
Though, I do hope this dropping 40 thing in favor of a second Vertigo is just a fluke, because really, I could live w/o hearing one song FOUR times at the 1 1/2 concerts I've been to!!! I wonder if they would drop 40, since it sounds like most people aren't really picking up on the "how long...etc." at the end. It'd be a pity if that were the case! Once boys, I wanna hear it once!...actually, I guess part of me is glad that I'm going to one first night. At least I'm 99% certain to hear all those songs (and I love all of them)...no random tossing in/out of songs pour moi!
Yeah, I hope they keep 40, too. That's too good a song to lose, and one Vertigo is enough for me.
And mabel, who knows, they still might change it up a little bit (in a good way I mean) at Boston 1.
Actually, I think I'm cool w/ keeping the standard set (for the moment, at least). It'd probably be the only time I'd get to hear Electric Co and An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart. And, it is my (completely unfounded, mind you) theory that they'd be the ones to get tossed for the third leg, in favor of a couple other raritites (since they're the ones to get rotated out on this leg). I also think I'd prefer the acoustic Yahweh to Original of the Species, so as long as Bad (and Gloria, while we're at it) sneaks into the setlist on October 8th or 10th (preferably BOTH) that'd be fine by me!
Oh, ok. Well then it's a good thing that you'll be at Boston1! I guess you're right, it probably will be your only chance to hear some of those songs, which are great ones. And it must feel good to know that in the fall you'll get the chance to hear some rarities.
I hope I get Original of the Species, I'd prefer that to Yahweh (even though I love both). I have no idea as to what the May MSG setlist will be, so I've tried to stop thinking about it and just be happy with whatever I get.
oh. my. god.
OMIGOD!!!!!
Bad??!! With Ruby Tuesday???!!! (a la Rattle&Hum)??!! with NORWEIGAN WOOD?????!!!!!!!
AND GLoria??!!!
Wow. No Words. WHOA.
TIFF!! DO TELL!!!
I KNOW!!!! I'm bitterly jealous (still in a good way, if that's possible) but am totally thrilled that one of our girls was at what was arguably the best show of the tour, thus far!!!
And to clear up (maybe, sort of) a couple of things: 1) Apparently a little boy was brought up for SYCMIOYO, so I guess that officially knocks Tiff out (and no one was brought up for MW), and 2) I've read some theories that the 2nd Vertigo might be because of the taping for GMA. Dunno if that's true, but I guess it might make sense (other than the fact that they'd be wearing different clothes and couldnt' mix the two in editing, etc). *shrug*
And Elphie, my only reasoning for Yahweh over Original is that I was already lucky enough to catch that in Brooklyn (and I really didn't think it was as terrible as most made it out to be) so I'd like to get as many newbies in as possible! They can drop Miracle Drug for Crumbs while they're at it (just for the sake of having something different!)
Off to pick up a lemon, because I simply must have one cooking scallops (can't believe I forgot that grocery shopping...the one in the fridge is looking a bit shriveled).
Oh, I would love to hear Crumbs played. I think they'll have to add it at least by the third leg.
Did people think Original of the Species was bad in Brooklyn? Based on the recording, I think it sounded pretty good. I just love that song so much, but I can understand why you're going for as many different songs as possible!
You're cooking scallops? I'm impressed. The extent of my cooking is sticking a Campbell's Soup at Hand container in the microwave. Luckily I don't have to cook here at school (I can't, really, I don't have a kitchen, and everyone in the dorms is required to be on the school meal plan).
Could you all pretty please post on this thread if you get a chance (as much as possible)? I would really appreciate it!

The scallops turned out pretty decent! I just baked them w/ some breadcrumbs and spritzed them w/ that faux I Can't Believe it's Not Butter spray and tossed on some garlic and lemon...served up w/ rice and brocoli (and a salad)...mmmmm! I even have leftovers for a couple of nights. Good times!
I'm so glad I don't have a meal plan anymore. The food here was so sub-par. I've kind of been out of the habit of cooking food for the week (eating out a lot) but when I'm on top of it, I actually do pretty well for myself!
Anyway, back to U2! Yeah, from what I'd gathered, most people didn't like the acoustic version of Original. I really liked it, (and totally wouldnt' be disappointed to hear it again) but I would rather hear something different. I'll be curious to check out the European setlists and see how much (if at all) they change up the setlists for the next leg(s). I hope they shake it up a lot! Less than a month!!! Wheeee!!!!
Tiff (whenever you're back around), they finally posted the Paul McCartney MSG info on ticketbastard:
US $54.50 - US $279.50
Internet Onsale Info
Onsale to General Public:
Sun, 05/08/05 09:00 AM
I'll be going for the Wednesday show...see what happens.
And I thought U2 was expensive...$280 is a lot! (none of U2's prices got up there, did they? I strictly focused on the ones in the $50 range).
I know...I'm definitely of the $50 or nothing mentality! I can't imagine paying more than that! Crazy, crazy, crazy!!! But, it's not like it'd even end up being $50...MSG is $55 (why, I have no idea) and then by the time you tack on all of the (in)convenience charges, it'll be pushing $70!
