I know! There are so many different charges on there! I think my MSG was $68.50. Insane.
F*CK!!! I just realized I'll be all packed up/checked out/staying in a hotel room on Sunday May 8th!!! This could pose a bit of a problem! I guess we've got a while to figure it out. Anyway, I'm off to bed. I've got a busy day tomorrow, and should actually make an honest effort to get SOMETHING done before I run up to get the DRS CD.
Night, Elphie!
<-- my face during the concert and even now, 24 hours later.
Geez, I come home, take all the time to download and save my photos, and no one's here for me to share them with.
I'm still on such a high, but I guess I'll have to wait for another time before I can tell you guys everything that happened. In the mean time, I'll leave you with an idea of how my view was. I hope you don't mind the size. I just felt making it smaller would ruin the effect.

Tiff! Tiff! TIFF! I LOVE YOU!!!!! I miss you.
GIANT Bono! And that last guy *doesn't know his name* is totally looking RIGHT AT YOU!!

*hugs* I missed you too! That's the welcome I was hoping for!

Tiffy, I can't believe you actually saw U2 live! I'm incredibly jealous, and very happy for you!
Yay! I'm happy for me too! I have to admit, I still can't think clearly. I'm on such a high right now, and going through my 130 photos is making me re-live every single moment! Words can't even begin to explain it. But when my U2 fangirls are online tomorrow, I'll be sure to go into song-by-song detail. The whole experience was totally incredible. I'm wearing my U2 tee (Mabel--I hope you're really skinny, otherwise the XL kiddie tee won't fit -- I ended up going for a small in Adults for $10 more, but it also includes the tour dates on the back!) and One bracelet. I'm totally overwhelmed still.
Didja see my pictures? My digital doesn't have much of a zoom. That's really how close I was!
OMG, TIFF!! I totally F*CKing hate you (but I say that with love!!)
(I'm going to put each sentence on a new line,
since the jumbo pix requrire lots of dragging the bar back and forth...TOTALLY NOT COMPLAINING!)
Were you in the Bomb Shelter??? You looked SO CLOSE!
Adam was TOTALLY looking at you! *tear*
I definitely want to see ALL of your pix.
If you don't post them here, can you put them all in a folder and email them to me?
I really, really, really can't believe you got such an amazing concert!
*shakes head*
Can't wait till we catch each other on-line to hear all about it!
ETA: Pisser about the kiddie shirt. I was really counting on that as a viable option.
I've slimmed down a bit over the past couple of years, but it sounds like they're super small.
I don't like the "I have to peel out of my shirt" look either, so...
Plenty of time to decide, but I think I may go for one of the U2.com shirts.
They're cheaper, and I actually like them better!
Which shirt did you end up getting???
GAHH!!!!
Tiff, those pictures are AMAZING!!! You were so close to them!
I can't wait for the play-by-play.
I am even more incredibly jealous now.
*swoon* I keep starting at the picture of The Edge!
You know you're close when you can see the wedding band!
Just back from the DRS signing. I got there at 11. It was busy, but I wasn't all that far back for when I got there.
On my way out, I heard they'd stopped letting people in to get their CDs signed, so that was cool.
Can't wait to hear the review in full later! WOOHOO!
But for now, it's time for a quick bite to eat, off to class, and then up to Lincoln Center to try to get tix for Piazza.
*is still hoarse and trembling from the concert*
I have to admit, I cream just a wee bit when I see those pics.
Those are the clearest and closest ones that I have.
Out of the other 157, only maybe 7 of them are halfway decent.
The other ones are just waves of light.
It's sort of funny though; I was complaining to my friend that
because it was such a mind-blowing show, it's such a blur
to me, and she said that I should keep the photos, especially
the blurry ones, because that's really how I remember it!
There were so many highlights, but I'll wait till you guys are
online and post in snippets so you're not stuck reading a big
block of text.
Mabel, sure I'll send you all my pics. I've posted a couple on
Interference (including these three, so it should be pretty easy
to figure out which user I am! ), mostly of Bono and the boy
(Jason) in STYCMIOYO. I won't be posting my crappy ones on
there, but they'll be in a folder I can send you. I even
printed out the times the song list was updated on Interference
and because my camera has a clock as well, I know roughly what
song my photos are from!
A couple of quick things before I go. (Should be back this evening.)
I wasn't in the bomb shelter. I heard two groups of girls yell
in front of me, so I know they got in. The bomb shelter is SO
empty. If everyone spread out, they could easily swing their
arms left and right and not hit anyone. I was really lucky and
when we were let in, I ran for side of the stage with the least
people, so I was one person behind the rail in front of the run
on the Edge's side.
Check out this pic from Interference:
It's not a very clear shot, but if you look around the
bottom/centre of the photo where the two security guys in black
are standing between the rail and the run, that's where I was.
Mabs, I got the tee-shirt with the V/peace sign/bomb on the front
(same as the kiddie shirt), but the adult sizes have the tour
dates on the back as well. It cost $30. I was going to buy a
different one for $35 instead, but especially after the exchange
rate, I couldn't justify spending C$45 on a tee shirt. The
waist of the kiddie one isn't so much the problem, but my boobs
were really squished in the top, so that's saying something.
Oh, and I mentioned this to Mabel already, but Adam really was
looking at me in that photo. The crowd was surging forward, but
more looking at Bono (who you can see in the bottom left corner
about to "bull charge" at Adam), and I was the only one struggling
to take a photo and I made eye contact with Adam, smiled and looked
into the camera screen, and he paused so I could take the photo.
*dies* Yeah, I'd sleep with him. After the photo was taken,
he bent down, took my hand and proposed marriage. I politely
apologized and told him he's no Bono. He's not even The Edge.
He might not remember that interaction, but I swear it happened.
Or some variation of that, perhaps in my unconscious state.
Where's Ellie? Did she not make it back from Atlantic City?
Maybe she was chilling at the Taj Mahal and Trump made eyes at
her and swept her off her feet? *snort* Puh-leeze. That sort of
love is reserved for Adam and me. We're likethis now, you know.
*skips off, still on a U2 high*
W-w-w-w-wedding ring, Mabs? *cries* B-b-but I was s-s-saving
myself for him! I suppose I'm stuck with Adam now. I think I'll
be okay. Did I tell you we're likethis now? Did I? Huh?
Huh? Huh? Likethis. And perhaps next time we see each other,
more ltihkies if you know what I mean.
Tiff, that's amazing. I'll check out Interference. The picture you just posted didn't work. That picture of Adam looking at you is SO cool, I can't believe how close you were!
*runs around like a headless chicken* Someone's just posted a link
for Eddie Vedder and KOL from 4/25 and they're posting the Seattle 2
show later on tonight as well. But I can't figure out how the hell
to access that link! Does anyone know what this guy is talking
about?

You have to take out the spaces and change YSI to yousendit.
This should work:

eta: haha, Tiff, I know who you are on Interference.

The sad thing is this meh recording makes KOL sound LESS bad than they really are. Their music is good, but the lead singer's voice is awful. It's like he's trying to channel Dylan or Cobain, but I can scratch my own nails down a chalkboard, thank you very much. The guy seemed really grateful to be playing Seattle though. Even though there was a tepid response to them (Key was only about 2/3 full when they were playing), no one was booing, and there were some cheers (even though it was pretty half-hearted). The lead thanked up profusely for being respectful and being such a great crowd, which I suppose is better than the reception they got in Denver, when people were booing and the singer flipped the bird and spat at someone in the audience.
I can't WAIT until that guy posts the concert tonight. The quality isn't as bad as he says. I'm happy with anything.
ETA: Who? Moi? *blink blink*
The singer for KOL definitely = Dylan of late (NOT a good thing!)
I think I'll wait until a real copy surfaces and try to trade or do a B+P for it. My computer started acting all funky last time I tried to DL a whole show on YSI.
I might try to get the BitTorrent, but that always takes
forever. If I do, I'll share (I mean through actual cds).
What does B+P mean? I've seen it written a few times on there. YSI seems to work pretty well for me. I'll probably burn it all tonight if he ends up linking it all on there. If you want, I can mail it out to you, either tomorrow morning at the airport (I'm going to have a two hour wait there) or when I get home.
Well, it'd certainly make it easier if one of you ladies were able to finangle it on YSI. Maybe it was just a fluke for me that time (I've yet to have problems getting single songs), but I tried to do SDI, and my computer wouldn't go on-line, it was running really slow (w/ DSL at school), etc. I deleted the file, reset my computer to the settings from the day before, and all was well. Je ne sais pas!
Thanks #1. Hmm, in that case Mabel, can you send me a few blank CDs when you mail the tickets and the boots to me? I just noticed my stack is running out (too bad - they're the snazzy black-back ones too). Don't worry about postage. I just don't think I'll be burning enough CDs in the near future to warrant buying them in bulk.
Well, after all my trading of late, my stash is down to about 4 CDs, but I can always mooch some off my mom when I'm home (since I'll have to send your tix/CDs out when I get there...could have sworn I had Elton/Billy in Vancouver w/ me!)
Have you done any packing yet? I'm betting that's a big fat NO! You're going to be up all night, I can see it now! Oh well, you can always sleep on the plane, right?!?!
*eyes empty suitcase* *throws half of underwear stash in* That is literally all I've done. It's going to be a long night. I don't mind if I spend last minute hours packing - I'm just worried that at 11pm, I'm going to go, "Oh SH*T, I need a new pair of boots!" or something and won't have time to buy it.
Did your mom not wind up visiting you in NYC? No rush on the CDs or anything. Likely with my procrastination, I'll only have time to burn a copy of Seattle 2 for myself (if even that), so you'll have till the end of May to send me some CDs if you need 'em!
Yeah, she came a couple of weeks ago to see Spamalot and Dame Edna (and I sent home some winter stuff). She'll be back next weekend w/ my dad to catch a few more shows and help move me out. I still don't know what to do about those damn McCartney tix! I'll have to ask my mom tonight if we're staying at a hotel Saturday night/ or at our friend's house. Hmmm...I don't really know what to do. I guess I could try to run back downtown and go into the main building's computer labs. I'll have already checked out of my room (or even if I haven't my computer will definitely be packed up already)...Why couldn't they wait until MONDAY!!! At least dial-up is better than trying on the phone. I'll figure something out. I'll either come down town, or find some internet cafe to try for tix in.
