Pugs - the all-at-once vs tiered release strategy will continue to evolve. I think, eventually, most major content producers will probably have a hybrid of them both. There's certainly going to be a lot of experimentation in the next couple of years. Yahoo! is releasing eps of the rebooted Community in small bundles, rather than all at once. PBS experimented with the latest Ken Burns series by making all of the episodes available online before they were broadcast. Netflix is even trying the flip of their model by releasing their new scifi series Between one week at a time.

There's still something to be said about the communal experience of staggered, weekly airings, though. Especially when we get to event tv like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones.

That would probably be smart. I got my free month of Netflix and cancelled before it renewed. Then I got it last month for "Kimmy" (and then watched both seasons of "The Fall" and a "Black Mirror" and a "Luther") and then cancelled. I'll probably get it again for the Lily Tomlin/Jane Fonda show and cancel by the end of that month too.

Even though I really don't like binge watching, I kind of do like only paying for the service once in a while.

But, Jordan, it takes half the time to catch back up by watching them again.

Unless he makes an appearance next season, I'm surprised how they quickly they got rid of the tutor. I also assume the son had a much bigger role initially until they went in a totally different direction with the teenaged girl instead. Less Nanny Diaries and more 2010-teenager commentary.

Not that anyone gives a fig about my progress, but just found out why you all were yelling "Pinot Noir". I'm still quite taken aback at my complete 360 on this show. I went from loathing it to adoring it. Glad I'm parceling it out to a few eps a week, though. I can see how binging this particular type of show might end up being too much of a good thing.

I thought the episode when the romance with the tutor falls apart is just fantastic. I actually saw the entire season again yesterday while working on my dissertation and loved it just as much. I don't think the episodes have the same rewatchable quality than 30 ROCK does (I've seen some of my favorite episodes over 30 times over the years, and I may be rounding down), but Ellie Kemper's performance is so winning. She's perfect in the role. I can't get over it. The rhymes in "Pinot Noir" kill me. And I can't get enough of Jane Krakowski, ever. The way she pronounces the name "Hung-yan" is genius.

So far I've watched the first three episodes- I mostly found the first one a bore, but episodes two and three have some great bits in them. Everyone is consistently very funny, though I hope they give Carol Kane something more to do this season. I am curious to know where exactly the geisha subplot is headed- I don't think it's offensive on its face, but I thought the critique of internet outrage culture in episode three was a bit heavy-handed and lazy. Clearly Tina Fey and Robert Carlock didn't respond well to the critiques of the Jacqueline subplot in Season One, which I did think was a misguided choice, but I'm not really interested to watch them rail against "haters" for an entire season.

I tried to like this show but bailed after 4 episodes. I watched a later episode in season 1 only because a friend of mine was in it. I love Tina Faye and Jane but this just doesn't do it for me. JMO
