I wonder if indecent exposure laws would cover this situation done via internet...

I suppose it would depend on the wording and whether the perpetrator's act had to be committed in the physical presence of the victim.

I believe we've heard from only one of these women, Meagan Broussard. If I understood her correctly on GMA, the exchanges with Weiner with neither unsolicited (she exchanged some 100 messages with him) nor X-rated.

Needless to say (except Goth, apparently, needs to hear it), she wasn't a child, either.

I don't understand it. If I was in a sex scandal with a famous person, I would never sell stories/pics/messages/etc to the media or even come forward with interviews and things of that nature. Maybe I'm just different, but I wouldn't want to benefit from me being a ho. It makes me look just as bad, untrustworthy, and out to make a buck.

I could see her doing it if she were shocked to suddenly receive an univited x-rated image. It may have made her very angry, worried he were a rapist, felt he was behaving horribly for a married public figure, etc.

I am not for one moment blaming this woman (or any of the supposed other women). He is 100 percent responsible for his actions.

I'm just saying that from what I've heard and read so far neither "victim" nor "predator" is the right label for either of these people.

Why didn't Sanford resign? Mr.Family Values had a mistress and LIED about where he was. You seem to think only Democrats should resign (fyi, I think Wiener should resign ASAP and put this behind him)You see Goth, we tend not to play favorites. If one of ours F*$#@ up we hold them to the very same standards as a Republican. I was a former John Edwards supporter and I was the first to turn on him when he screwed up.

So, explain to me where you were during the Larry Craig and Governor Sanford scandal. Were YOU calling for them to resign? Do tell.

PJ, it would take more than what Weiner has apparently done to get to outrage. Rape, mayhem, murder and other things may create outrage but this doesn't get there.

The topic is Weiner today. I don't see this kind of behavior as a party issue of a particular party, which is why the names of other men seem to have been brought up in this thread. And I did comment on Spitzer when his issue came up. They are both New York politicians.

I think NY should allow people to register as Independents, as other states do, which it somehow does not do.

As to your A.W. issue, well obviously if I don't bother to comment in every thread that comes up about every politician's scandal, I guess you've knocked down that suggestion yourself.

Seriously, he is married to Huma Abedin, saw a fellow colleague go down (albeit it through Craiglist), and he does this? I want to snark on his SUNY Plattsburgh degree really badly right now but I am just annoyed he gave Andrew Breitbart credibility.
