i pray, pray, he does not resign. i hope he fights the ethics investigation and that it drags out. i hope he has lots of opportunities to publicly address this issue over the next 17 months. just as i can't wait to see journalists and bloggers who rushed to defend him - and accuse those who exposed him of everything under the sun - rightly have their integrity questioned repeatedly whenever they speak.

I'm glad Pelosi is calling an investigation, but I just can't get too worked up about this. If Weiner was a "family values" crusader or something, maybe.

Yeah, that Republican Craigslist dude resinged shockingly fast, even before anyone called for it. That's one. Then you have your Mark Sanfords, your David Vitters, your John Ensigns, etc, etc. I just can't find the outrage for a guy who sent out pictures of his junk.

At a minimum the sending of unsolicited x-rated pornography of the type implied here could be charged under state harassment laws and may invite a civil suit as well.

Whether there are additional Federal laws against doing so over the internet, they've recently been addressing the use of the internet the past few years in legislation. I haven't followed the enactment(s), it would have to be researched.

Now he's up for a House Ethics investigation to see whether his sending lewd photos to women has broken any of the ethics rules.

There's bound to be something, like conduct which invites scandal, disgrace, dishonor or public disrespect to the House of Representatives. This would involve decisions of public or private censure, possibly even getting knocked out of his seat.

Sure, the last time everyone began treating Andrew Breitbart as something other than a sideshow performer, they all got burned, but hey, this Weiner thing held up! That means he has been vindicated, about everything, and it is time to defund ACORN again...

I'd say that Breitbart's stories should be treated with the same kid gloves that the MSM uses when handling exclusives from the National Enquirer, but at least the Enquirer has no agenda beyond selling copies. Breitbart aims to destroy the all-powerful network of leftists that he imagines runs the world, by any means necessary, and his mission is so important that he rarely lets the truth get in the way. Just please remember that next week when he claims he has STUNNING VIDEO of some minor government functionary or college professor announcing his secret plan to turn white kids gay in the name of social justice, or something along those lines.
