WILL AND GRACE Returns!

Just for clarification, they don't use a laugh track. The show is recorded in front of a live audience.

And to audaciously steal a plot line from "The Lucy Show"? Bad idea. No one tops Lucy.

Seemed like a rather obvious tribute to me. I'm still enjoying it. The return of Will & Grace is still better than 90% of the comedy series currently running.

Scandal takes priority and will be watched when it airs.

Holy crap, is that still on?!?! Despite my insatiable lust for Tony Goldwyn, I bailed in season two.

I agree, Matt. Even at its worst, Will & Grace still manages to be better than most of the comedies on these days. Especially ones with love audiences.

Scandal ends this Season. I’ve nearly bailed several times, but they’ll have a brilliant episode here and there that keeps me going.

This episode made me tear up. Difficult to watch at points.

To ight’s episode was pretty great. Nice mix of comedy and drama.

Though did they completely forget Elliot’s Mother is a Lesbian?

To be fair, it's unclear if Elliot even knows. It was left as "I'll tell him, my time, my way." It's possible she never told him.

That’s a good point, LYLS. I forgot about that bit. Though wouldn’t she have told him or he’d have figured it out by now?

I know it's hella early but I don't see how Sean Hayes could not be nominated for an Emmy. He is still just as "laugh out loud" funny as he's ever been if not better.

Do they still submit 2 episodes for Supporting players at the Emmys? If so, he’d easily get a nom for last night’s episode and the magnets/girdle episodes combined.

No, Supporting Actor / Actress now submits one full episode just like the Lead contenders.

Last night's episode was just lazy writing. Did not find one joke funny. I do not watch, for the most part, any other current network comedy shows. If Will & Grace is better than the majority out there, those shows must be pretty terrible.

WILL AND GRACE Returns!

I've enjoyed it so far but last night's episode was definitely weak. I'm pretty sure that plot was recycled from the original run. And the Beverly Leslie/Benji stuff isn't really funny anymore.

esp the bit about Chrystal being alive again. The 1st shovel of dirt indeed- and NOW Will & Grace will work together? Hi-lar-ity ensues? I'm thinks SO NOT.

I was borderline, now I'm done.

I agree that last night's episode wasn't their best. Of all the episodes that have aired so far, I'd say that it was the weakest of the four. They can't all be winners. But even though it was weak, it still had its moments. I'm glad it's back and it's one of the few shows that I look forward to watching each week when it airs. And considering its up against GA, it's doing fairly well in the ratings department. The absence of GA this week helped it reclaim the title of the highest-rated and most-watched entertainment program of the night.

It's providing me with much-needed relief from the daily onslaught of life under Trump. It's comfort food. I welcome it. "It's white Diana Ross."

When Will said "white Diana Ross" last night, I didn't laugh. But for some reason, Frankie, when I read your response, it was funny.

Didn't much care for last week's episode, but thought this one was really well done.

I have enjoyed this revival a lot. The next episode airs in a month, I think? Looking forward to it!

I wonder if the second season is a limited run or a full season order?

While I only watched the original series sporadically, I am enjoying the new series.....it's like it never ended.

I still think the actors push too much at times, but I feel like the ensemble has relaxed a bit since the premiere episode. I now find myself looking forward to it for it is mindless fun and I do like the topical jabs.

Really wish they could have lured Shelley Morrison out of retirement, but sadly they have really closed that door. Glad there was closure for the character though. And interesting to hear the acknowledgement of Grace's Mom's passing too (Debbie Reynolds). I find this show does well in the dramatic moments, like Karen sitting by herself in the last episode. There was a huge W&G fight in the final season of the original run, that was quite dramatic & good, without any comedy too.

See if it wuz me, I'd have Conchata Ferrell come in as Rosie's sister/niece/cousin and play it as Rosie had an intimation of her mortality and asked her to come help since she just spent the last 10 years looking after a drunk, drug taking, sexually omnivorous "person" and would therefor be a perfect match for Karen.

But thass jess me.
