WILL AND GRACE Returns!

The laugh track was getting on my nerves.

WILL AND GRACE Returns!

So I re-watched....but I didn't like much more. (But a little) I'll give it a few more episodes, but if it doesn't improve through Oct, I'm out.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The original series was taped in front of a live audience. How about this one?

This is still taped in front of a live audience. However a lot of the White House sections may have been filmed sepratly and then shown to the live audience to capture their laughter. I'm not sure how much the editing of the laughter plays into it sounding canned, but they are definetly filing it with an audience still.

I found it disappointing. I just didn't think it was funny. Maybe politics isn't prime fodder for comedy right now unless you're a late night host or trafficking in satire. The cast seems game as ever and I'm hoping they find their footing over the next couple of episodes but they're not off to a flying start.

I started it with no expectations and by the end, felt like I was catching up with old friends. Loved it.

Yikes. That says more than enough right there.

No, but seriously: as a recovering W&G fanatic, I was sorely disappointed. I laughed out loud twice and cracked a smile a handful of times. That's about it.

Will & Grace is not the topical, relevant show it was well over a decade ago. Sorry.

I think it will get much better with episodes 2 and 3.

Just watched it. I thought it was terrific. Same golden chemistry and timing.

I'm glad it's back.

Add me to the camp that loved it.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

MUCH better than last week, have always said Hayes is the most underrated physical comedian of our time.

WILL AND GRACE Returns!

I have enjoyed the revival. Last night, they had Karen and Grace redo the famous "Lucy Show" shower scene that almost killed Lucy.

WILL AND GRACE Returns!

This week's show was a home run! Though I'm surprised that they didn't write out the character of Rosario in some way. Mentioning that she's somewhere in Karen's house, apparently now managing the staff, just makes you want to see her more.

I liked this episode a whole lot better also. It felt like the writing reflected where these characters are now (years later) versus last week's episode. The Will & Jack story line was the strongest of the two story lines, with Sean, for me, the highlight.

WILL AND GRACE Returns!

What a great episode! They were all in top form. The writing was so much stronger than the 1st episode. Sean Hayes gave a master class in physical comedy.

Agreed - last night was really excellent. Great moments of comedy, as well as seriousness towards the end.

SInce it is all now on Hulu, I've started rewatching it - and now watching the 2nd episode of the revival - who is the "maid" in the new season? She's in a few different episodes as different people, and I love it. She plays a homeless woman, and now she's Karen's maid?

#46

WILL AND GRACE Returns!

The actress is Mary Pat Gleason. She played homeless lady Sally in several episodes back in 2000(season 2).

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

As much as I am a fan of the original series, this reiteration is to put it bluntly: pointless. I would have loved to see some growth - to watch these characters behave the way they did when they were in their 30s is embarrassing.

And to audaciously steal a plot line from "The Lucy Show"? Bad idea. No one tops Lucy.

I was a fan of the Karen Walker character when Mullally portrayed her as a biting, cynical, spoiled rich diva. When she evolved (or is that regressed?) into a screeching child/woman -- I lost all the love for the character. I wish she would return to playing the Karen that existed mid Season 1 through Season 4.

I may give next week's episode a chance but I'm relegating it to On Demand status. Scandal takes priority and will be watched when it airs.

Talk about a show that has become pointless. Giving new meaning to "jump the shark"

While I loved the first episode, I thought the second was dull, unfunny and was trying way too hard.

I'd have said blatantly but otherwise agree.

AND are there really men out there who would rather give a lecture on a personal point of honor than get their Willy Wonka'd? Never met em.
