It's a tough gig and she did well. I also watched the clip of Obama, and I thought he did well, too. Loved when he acknowledged Michael Steele with a big "Wassssup!".

There is already talk from the right how she went over the line. Just you wait, Rush will devote a good part of his show tomorrow attacking Wanda. So will Hanity, O'Reilly , and Glen Beck. She made fun of Obama and Joe Biden,but they will ONLY focus on her roasting the Republicans. Further proof, these right wing blow hard's can dish it out but become little cowards when they start picking on them!

I loved her the bit about Michelle patting the Queen on the back like she just slid into home.

The Dixie Chicks received actual death threats and Rush's response was they did not have a sense of humor.Right wingers can dish it out but damn, they just can not take it. Wanda made fun of Joe Biden as well and it was HILARIOUS! SNL poked fun at Keith Olberman when Ben Afleck hosted and Keith was flattered. What is it with Republicans who can dish out the dirt and bitch and whine yet become little yellow cowards when you push back?

Yeah, but you are AOK with water boarding Papa so who cares what I think? She was responding to Hanity saying that he would be water boarded. Did you actually watch the clip? SOunds like you are picking parts of her jokes and as usual, getting it all wrong.

Rush abused drugs and lost his hearing and has probably done some damage to his kidneys as well.He was a junkie and had to go to rehab because of his drug addiction and he has done harm to himself(and probably killed a lot of brain cells) Can you defend any of those Rush Limabugh's slurs I provided you or are you going to ignore that like always and pretend you are actually being fair and credible in your pathetic rant?

How am I a traitor? My guess is you had no problem with her Joe Biden jokes. To be fair, papa, Hanity is the one who first diminished the seriousness of waterboarding by insincerely offering to undergo--and he did it with no humorous intent. His intent was to make his audience think waterboarding is something less than torture.

And Sykes's line about Rush's kidneys failing was a punchline to a specific set-up. There is a difference between the declarative sentence "I hope Rush Limbaugh's kidneys fail" and the classic comedic setup-and-punchline construction: "He hopes the country fails? I hope his KIDNEYS fail!"

The comedic construction contains an unspoken ellipsis that the listener fills in, along the lines of: ...It's a terrible thing to wish that the country fails. Why, it's almost as bad as saying...

Well Papa, at least I can make my argument. You can not answer me what part besides Wanda's joke about Rush offended you so much. According to you, Rush should be allowed to make racial slurs but Wanda is not allowed to make jokes about him in return.

my initial post covered what i found offensive. it was not that long ago that i remember people on the left wailing like scalded dogs whenever anyone dared to question their patriotism. of course, now we know that they had already signed off on the torture that they would later blame on the gop.
