The Catholic position (so to speak), on celibacy, would be the same for heterosexuals, out of wedlock. Sex, is only to be had, between a man and a woman, who have been married in a Catholic Church. And, with the primary purpose of procreation. However, if you are unable to procreate, you're still allowed to engage in sex. Sex is mainly for procreation, not recreation.

Same old, same old.... As for the Presbyterians, there was a full blown church trial several years ago regarding a lesbian pastor who had been "called" to a church in Rochester, NY. She was convicted and the congregation was not permitted to install her. To the best of my knowledge, she kept at it and has been tried at least one other time. These people have too much time on their hands and not enough brain power. Thank heaven that they instructions for building the good old dunking stool were lost long ago!

Stonewall, you are referring to Janie Sparr. (that spelling may be incorect)
She was "defrocked" and removed from her position at the church. The church voted to have her stay anyway, but she is not allowed to be the "official pastor"
She was an instrumental figure in what is known as the "More Light" Presbyterian movement. "More Light" churches are in opposition to the Book of Order restrictions on gay and lesbian pastors, and are a growing number within the church body.
