What TV Series are people watchng on Netflix?- Page 5

Now that we've branched out to Hulu, we gave the first 2 episodes of MRS. AMERICA a try. Great looking and mostly great casting. But we're bugged by how on-the-nose all the dialogue is. Also bugged by how hoity-toity and Mid-Atlantic Cate Blanchett's accent and affect are-- the real Phyllis Schlafly talked like a very average midwest housewife. We'll try a few more episodes before counting it out.

Has anyone seen the HILLARY documentary on Hulu? It's staggeringly good-- sure to reward all her fans' best assumptions, and confirm all her enemies' her worst traits are true. So pretty damn fair and balanced, I'd say.

It's an older show but I've spent the last week binging Heartland and I'm enjoying it. I'm already up to Season 4 out of 13. 

I also watched and finished Defending Jacob on Apple TV+. I like the series ending better than the book ending. Michelle Dockery deserves all the Limited Series awards for this one.

Also enjoying the new Central Park series on Apple TV+

Two gentle movies to take you away from all the outside disruptions.

Finding your feet--Imelda Staunton, Celia Imrie , Joanna Lumley[very small part]. A sentimental rom.com for the mature set.

After the wedding....Michelle Williams, Julianne Moore, Billy Crudup.. not a wasted 90mins, just pleasant, though I did skip the wedding speeches and some of the heart to heart sentiment---maybe it was time for a few bodies to be discovered.

Alone. It's like Naked and Afraid except fully clothed and afraid. Didn't think I'd make it through one episode, and ended up enjoying the whole series.

SEX EDUCATION is our new favorite binge on Netflix. Every single f***'in conversation in this show is about sex in all its variety. Series is set in the Brit equivalent of a small -town high school, where the main character (brilliant Asa Butterfield) is the 16-year-old son of an over-sharing sex therapist mom. Hysterical, laugh-a-minute, unpredicatble, heart-breaking, wish-fulfillment, and so true to life, all in one awesome package.

Anyone else watching?

Really enjoying Dating Around on Netflix. A simple, no-frills dating show that features a diverse cast and really seems to capture the feeling of a first date.

Also probably going to use my free trial of HBO Max to watch the new season of Search Party, since I've been waiting for it for three years.

Forgot to mention crime. It is going up at an alarming rate .Looks like it will not be long before it reaches the crime wave that ushered in Giuliani time. A shame that the city is going to pot.

I don't think this is the right thread for that but I'll respond anyways. 

Since the NYPD disbanded the undercover anti-crime unit, yes all crime has risen. The police don't feel supported (300 cops put in their retirement papers in last week), DeBlasio is all over the place, and people are feeling not seen or heard. With the combination of the pandemic, being quarantined, the protests because people are done with POC being hunted down and murdered, and just the general unrest will make NYC a pretty violent place for a long time. A friend of mine who works as a cop in the Bronx says it will be like the 1980s NYC again.

It is time folks in Chicago start growing a pair and address black on black crime. Every weekend it is like a slaughterhouse in the hood and you could hear crickets chirping.Dead silence from the media and all the politicians.If and when Broadway comes back who in their right mind would walk out into a shooting gallery. DeBlassio is incompetent and the city is getting worse and,worse .People are leaving in droves

As far as what we are watching now the answer is Bloodline on Netflix. 3 seasons totalling 33 episodes.Ended in 2018. Norbert Leo Butz has a really meaty character to play. Watched 15 episodes far. Complex plot but does ho of your intetest.

As far as what we are watching now the answer is Bloodline on Netflix. 3 seasons totalling 33 episodes.Ended in 2018. Norbert Leo Butz has a really meaty character to play. Watched 15 episodes far. Complex plot but does ho of your interest.

I loved the first season of Bloodline because of the character of Danny, played masterfully by Ben Mendelsohn. He was so frightening, intense, and brilliant. But, my interest waned by the second season due to him dying in the first season. I loved all the guest stars and Norbert is so good as the constant boozy fu*k up. Perhaps one day I will finish it!

'My husband and I' is part of the sentence using a fake Queen voice when starting a speech or a joke and you will love The Crown. You might not like the very funny and clever The Royals[think that is the  name] as it is a brilliant send-up of all things Royal.

Are you Husband & Husband or Husband & female Wife? Alway curious when I see 'Husband' in this context.

I can't stop watching the trash that is the new Dynasty. I am up to episode 22 Series 1 and I now read they are making a FORTH series.

I have to stop I just can't take any more of this Carrington camp crap.[maybe one more episode].

Yesterday I binge-watched the Australian drama series Stateless.  It is partly inspired by the plight of  Cornelia Rau who is both a German citizen and Australian permanent resident diagnosed with schizophrenia once unlawfully detained under the Aussie's unlawful non-citizens (UNC) containment program.  After watching Stateless, I was left wondering whether Paul Haggis' extremely polarizing film Crash would have been better served as a limited series.
