You saw THE HIDING PLACE with a church group?

And yes, BAD EDUCATION was the best foreign film of 2004.

If you don't love Julie Harris, you're insane.

Has anyone seen the powerful 1954 documentary "Salt Of The Earth"?

Dancer in the Dark.

I couldn't speak for over an hour after seeing that film. I had to get my emotions together before I found the right words, and it really took that long to get them together...

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

DGrant-I got to read that when it was first posted. I got a little emotional.

Broadway86-Julie wasn't in "Salt of the Earth". It was a very moving documentary on the struggle for a union in a California migrant town.

On the documentary side of things, it took me a bit to get it together after Paris is Burning.

One of my favorite moments in any film of any kind is the close of Pepper's final interview: "The way I figure it, if you shoot an arrow into the sky and it goes real high - well, hurray for you."

Peter Pan? But it was so bad! And that boy? Could they have gotten a worse actor?

Any movie made by an anti-semite about Jesus can't be too good. Updated On: 2/22/05 at 06:54 PM

DGrant --

That quote was from the legendary Dorian Corey, not the equally fabulous Pepper LaBeija.

American Beauty left me speechless, but not in a good way. I was cranky before I went to see it, and afterwards...I couldn't talk to anyone unless they wanted an arguement to ensue. I hated that movie.
