Only film I've ever walked out of was 8mm, starring Nicholas Cage. I was a sophomore in high school when it came out and my friend and I went to see it, thinking that it was some kind of action/adventure film. Turns out the whole thing was about a guy investigating snuff porn flick, which was really gross for our virgin eyes. I'm sure nowadays after all I've seen and done the film wouldn't shock me so much, but I couldn't handle it at age sixteen.
I walked out during America's Sweethearts. I wanted to see it, but the two main characters just fought and argued for the first 20 minutes. My friend and I left and saw School of Rock instead, which we both loved.
bunnywings: How is that possible? AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS was released in 2001; SCHOOL OF ROCK came out in 2003.
I don't think I've ever walked out of a film I saw in theaters, but I know I've given up on films I've rented...Titanic specifically comes to mind. I've only been able to get through the first half hour without falling asleep or turn it off.
But it's ok. I know how it ends.
(and StageManager2, I at least partly agree with you about The Queen, not that it's a stinker, I don't think it is, I do think it's well made, but it's certainly pointless. In the political and social climate we live in today, it's sort of, as a friend of mine would say, socially irresponsible.)
i've only walked out of one movie... Nacho Libre... i thought it would be cute and funny especially with Jack Black... but it was just BORING
I have never walked out of a movie.......I have rented and then stopped watching after a few minutes........Prarie Home Companion being the most recent
I have never walked out in the theater, except times I was sneaking in to an extra movie. But I did rent ASK THE DUST and turn it off in the middle

I fell asleep during Over the Hedge. I walked out of Spiderman. I walked out of the Master of Disguise. I fell asleep during The Pacifier. I ALMOST fell asleep during Pirates of the Carribean 2.

StageManager2~ Hmm, obviously I wasn't right then... I did walk out of America's Sweethearts though. I figured why sit around and listen to them argue the whole time. It was such a downer.
However, I did see School of Rock because I walked out of another movie. Hell if I know what it was though... *shrug*
Only movie I've ever walked out on was The Lost World: Jurassic Park and that was only because I was fairly young and it was scaring me.
Elphaba- I turned off "Prarie Home Companion" as well. I love Meryl Streep, but I just couldn't get into it.
I've had to walk out of movies because the young child I was with got scared, so those don't count - and I've always gotten my money back.
The only film I voluntarily walked out of was Montenegro when the film broke - and they still wouldn't give me my money back as they fixed the film - but I would have left anyways.
I didn't walk out of Coming at You - a horrid 3d Italian western - because I was on a press pass, but 2/3 of the audience did. I had to sit through actually several films to the end as it was a press screening, which I thought was unfair. I interviewed a film critic once who said he always sat through to the end, because the end sometimes saved a movie - and told his tale of hating Psycho until the end which made up for everything.
I wanted to walk out on Dune (David Lynch version) but with our group we were having too much fun making up additional dialog and mesmerized by just how bad it was.
And I also saw My Super Ex Girlfriend on an airplane and would have left the plane if I could - but I didn't even take off my headphones, because I couldn't believe it was worse than I thought it was going to be, and I thought it was going to be pretty bad.
The only time I was really tempted to walk out of a movie was during "Bicentennial Man."
So. Boring.

I've never walked out of a movie in the theater.
But I rented Punch Drunk Love after a few people told me how great it was. I turned it off about 2/3 of the way through. There's an hour and half (give or take) I'll never get back.
Worst. movie. ever. (IMO).
I am bumping this because I'm watching Clerks for the first time, and I hate it. I'm not really a Kevin Smith fan to begin with, but i wanted to give it a try.
Interesting enough dialogue, poor acting and the black and white thing, while in 1994, may have been "cutting edge", but to me it came off as both pretentious and amateurish, it's almost like an above average student film from a state college.
so, there's that.
and the only movie I've ever walked out is "At First Sight" with Val Kilmer and mira Sorvino. Boring waste of time.
Only one that I can remember
"Speed Racer"

I usually just fall asleep.
I did walk out of Bram Stoker's Dracula. I was pretty annoyed by it anyway, but Hopkins was finally too much for me to watch.
And I left Legends of the Fall - four times. The woman I was with wouldn't leave as long as Brad Pitt was still showing up, so I kept going back in to see if his character was dead yet. He finally died - in the last scene of the movie.
I fell asleep during Highlander.
Margot at the Wedding.
I wanted to punch Nicole Kidman in the face.

None so far. I've been tempted though. Especially during Vantage Point.
I've never walked out of one, but I turned off the DVD of the super-homophobic "Waiting" after about 10 minutes. And had I seen it in a theater, I would have walked out.
