I think that parents are in denial, as I said, I played with Barbies, even my dad bought me a doll once, and he took me to see Liza Minnelli's concert when I was 14(after I begged him to) and yet, yes...they had no idea I was gay.

I may have already posted this but: When I was 12, I had pictures of Annie Lennox and Billy Idol hanging by my bed. When I was "discovering" myself I found that Billy's sweaty armpit and blonde chest hair turned me on much more than Annie's coolness.
Oh, and if I ever meet Sting, I am going to have to thank him personally for taking his shirt off in the "Don't Stand So Close To Me" video, which also informed my masturbation fantasies a LOT.

The first signs I was not straight...[although I hesitate to call myself gay since I have had more relationships with men than women] had to date back to high school and a mind-warping crush on one of my girlfriend's and feigning many crushes on boys that were said to be hot all the while harboing secret crushes on the skinny, nerdy, or effeminate ones.
