Washington (AP) - First Lady Melania Trump stunned fashion watchers by donning a sleek, off-the-shoulder cream dress with a daring thigh-high slit to dance with President Donald Trump at the inaugural balls.
Her column dress, finished with a sculpted ruffle that cascaded down the front of the gown and cinched at the waist with a red ribbon, won praise for being fresh, modern, elegant and yet understated.
She won rave reviews for her look and originality in choosing Herve Pierre a New York-based designer who last year struck out on his own after working as creative director for famed label Carolina Herrera.
Her pick is likely to boost sales and publicity for the relatively unknown Pierre, much like her predecessor Michelle Obama's selection of the then relatively unknown Jason Wu in 2009 turned him into a star.
She looked awful--and what's up with her left boob?
"So Vile and Nasty, not to mention misogyny Bodyshaming is so against everything the Womens March stands for. So much for equality and inclusiveness of all women.
^ When are you going to stop pointing out things about their great figures then? Or is that fine because they aren't fat? I bet if any of the Trump women were overweight, you wouldn't be saying that.

"I have never bashed or bodyshamed a women EVER. Unlike PalKnowitall who regurarly does this with with women. Melania, Ivanka, Tiffany, KellyAnne to name a few. He can not pretend anymore, his own posts show him to be a misogynist
Ivanka Trump Has a Princess Moment in Carolina Herrera at Inaugural Balls
Following a day spent in Oscar de la Renta for her father's inaugural festivities, Ivanka Trump donned a sparkling Carolina Herrera gown for the evening's gala celebrations.
Even more stunning: Ivanka's devastatingly handsome brother-in-law Joshua Kushner, at the WOMEN'S MARCH on Saturday, reportedly "observing" at the behest of his supermodel girlfriend Karlie Kloss, who had to be in Paris for work.
Here are Josh and Karlie, dressed for a night on the town, showing Jared and Ivanka how glamour is DONE:
I feel sorry for Melania, yes sorry. She always looks miserable. You saw how he treats her when he left her alone in the limo holding the gift for Michelle, as he ran up the stairs to greet Obama. And didn't Melania say she'd rather stay in NY than in the Whitehouse? I don't blame her. I wonder how long she's contracted to stay married to him.
Not even The President can resist a Nordic Blonde. The photo shows the three smiling for a smartphone while Michelle Obama stares into the distance. A series of hilarious follow-up photos, practically screaming for a caption contest, show Obama laughing with Thorning-Schmidt and touching her arm before turning inexplicably somber. The first lady looks stern -- dare we say disapproving? -- throughout.

"MadBrian, you asked a legit and interesting question, looks like we have an answer now about the risk to brands.. Both Ralph Lauren and Carolina Herrerra two of the biggest most influential brands are are doing very well thanks to Melania and Ivanka and even darling Arabella!
Ralph Lauren saw an increase in stock post-inauguration after Melania Trump sported the designer's sky blue ensemble,
The winner was Ralph Lauren, who made first lady Melania Trump's Jackie O.-esque sky blue cutaway jacket, dress and matching gloves. The brand's stock saw three days of gains, a bump from $88.19 to $90.13, which could have been due in part to the exposure. Despite some negative comments on Lauren’s social media channels (alongside positive ones), the hashtag #BoycottRalphLauren never really took off.
Another winner: Ivanka Trump. There was a lot of interest in the white made-in-the U.S. Oscar de la Renta suit she wore at the inauguration and the Carolina Herrera princess gown she wore that night may end up being an even bigger boon to the fashion industry than the first lady.
After Ivanka carried a $1,045 Aspinal of London burgundy Pearl bag to the National Prayer Service on Jan. 21, the brand saw increased wholesale and online interest due to "the Ivanka factor," says creative director Mariya Dykalo, who wonders if the made-in-Britain style, which Ivanka purchased herself, was a nod to British PM Theresa May’s visit to the U.S. this week.
And Petit Peony, the made-in-the-USA children’s brand Ivanka tapped to design clothing for her three children for the inaugural events, reported a surge in demand for the $250 ivory wool princess coat worn at the National Prayer Service by the president’s granddaughter, Arabella Kushner, and a 20-fold increase in unique visitors to its website, which is now selling a special Inaugural Collection.
Can Jared and Ivanka Outrun Donald Trump’s Scandals?
"The timing of Trump’s executive order on Friday, just moments before sundown, meant that Kushner would not be in the West Wing to absorb another cataclysmic Saturday. Indeed, Kushner observed the Sabbath as thousands of people protested outside airports across the country, children waited for their detained parents, lawyers rushed to federal court rooms, taxi drivers went on strike, and one Democratic leader broke down in tears on live television.
Unlike the campaign, Kushner and Trump’s futures are no longer entirely in their own control. Both have hitched themselves to her father’s wagon and, just 10 days in, are starting to see signs that it might not work out well for their own ambitions. Trump, after all, is about Trump. “It’s a very difficult line to straddle here, but the question is whether the Trump strategy might end up strangling her,” the source familiar with the couple told me. “It puts her in a really difficult situation.”
Slovenia is getting a tourism boost from Americans interested in learning about Melania!
Slovenia's Official Website now bills itself as “the homeland of the new First Lady of the United States of America!”
There are even tours that now give visitors a glimpse of her life there, offering “on the footsteps of Melania Trump” jaunts, which include stops at her childhood homes in Sevnica, her high school and her job that she had in her early 20s when she was just beginning her modeling career.

It's a good thing Ivanka is boosting other designers' work, seeing as her own line is being dropped by retailers left and right.
Boy George defends Melania Trump, says people should ‘remain positive’???????
Boy George who did all the talking. The former Culture Club frontman got political, defending new US first lady Melania Trump against negative press about her former modeling career.
“You know what — as somebody who has a past — I think it’s really wrong and mean-spirited of women to be so abusive,” George told the Associated Press from beneath an exuberant embellished hat. The fashion icon added that, in the Herve Pierre-designed inauguration gown, Melania Trump “looked amazing.”
The singer, who is gay, said people should “remain positive” about the next four years in the United States. Still, he lamented — with a hint of humor — that President Donald Trump didn’t mention the LGBT community — “or me” — in his inauguration speech.

Petra - What are you attempting to prove by posting Boy George's comments? If I had time, I would find comments by LGBT people, famous or not, who see nothing positive about the next four years!
