NY Times: Yes, One of Our Reporters Called Melania Trump a 'Hooker.' Sorry About That.

The New York Times admitted on Monday that one of its reporters was spreading the rumor that First Lady Melania Trump had worked as a "hooker" for an escort service.

The acknowledgment came in response to a series of tweets by supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, who took to Twitter on Monday to call out an unnamed New York Times reporter over a conversation she had with the journalist at a New York Fashion Week event Sunday night.

"Sat next to a journalist from the NYT last night who told me 'Melania is a hooker.' Whatever your politics it's crucial to call this out for what it is: slut shaming. I don't care about her nudes or sexual history and no one should," wrote Ratajkowski. "Gender specific attacks are disgusting sexist bullsh*t."

Before you start thinking the Times has actually somehow stumbled upon its long-lost journalistic integrity, the public acknowledgment and claim that editors have reprimanded the journalist has likely far more to do with legal fears than any sense of propriety.

Whoopi Goldberg calls out Fashion Bullies on Tiffany Trumps behalf

Whoopi Goldberg quickly came to Trump's defense and offered to sit next to her at upcoming New York Fashion Week shows after a few magazine editors snubbed the first daughter earlier this week.



Tiffany Trump has been a regular at New York Fashion Week this year.

During Wednesday's episode of "The View," Goldberg — who has previously spoken out against Donald Trump — lashed out at editors who apparently refused to sit next to the President's daughter during the Philipp Plein show.

I just thought it was mean," she continued. "I don't want to talk about your dad, but girl, I will sit next to you because I've been there, where people say we're not going to sit next you. I'll find your a-- and sit next to you."

"Tiffany, I'm coming to sit with you, because nobody's talking politics," Goldberg said. "You're looking at fashion. She doesn't want to talk about her dad."

Bravo to Whoopi of all people for calling out the intolerant left

There is nothing in your article that indicates that women from America are getting plastic surgery to look like Ivanka as the extremely misguided first sentence of your post suggests.

The only thing going on here in America is that like her father she has the dubious distinction of being skewered by Saturday Night Live.

Scarlett Johansson  did a spot on impression of Ivanka's vapid expressions in a faux ad hawking a perfume called "Complicit"

As to why anyone would want to alter  their looks to look like Ivanka Trump or anyone else for that matter is completely lost on me and a bit disturbing to say the least.

All of us are unique individuals and we should embrace each other's differences not try to alter our own to emulate someone else's.

Taylor, who works in the oil and gas industry and lives on a farm, said she has spent around $60,000 transforming her look.  

Over the past four months, Dr Rose said the name on all patients' lips was that of Donald Trump's daughter.  'She's the star of the media at the moment and she's disarmingly beautiful. 

'You get a lot of J.Lo, everyone wants her buttocks, but over the past four months it's been all about Ivanka.

'Most patients under 45 come in with pictures on their cell phone to show me,' he added.

She's attractive but self-mutilation to look like another human being is not my thing.  I'm trying not to be judgmental but surgically morphing into Ivanka smacks of idolatry of the worst kind.

It's disturbing to say the least. I am all about embracing one's individuality. A nip here a tuck there to improve yourself isn't necessarily a bad thing - - - but to go so far as to want to go under the knife to look like another human being...I don't get it.

The second half of that article is all about two bubbleheads in Houston and their doctor (who has failed at the attempt as neither look like Ivanka), who actually admits more patients come in referencing J-Lo and nobody has mentioned Melabia.  This is really all about celebrity, not beauty.  Ivanka isn't new and doesn't suddenly look different than she did previous to her daddy's new title.  She just has more notoriety now than before.  People are psychotic and stupid.  What else is new?  The whole "women in China" claim smacks of her daddy's exaggeration, which is unsurprising since he'll be hosting the Chinese President at Mar-a-Lago.  Other than the company name change claim, the article by the Daily Fail doesn't really offer up any evidence of Chinese women clamoring to look like Ivanka.  Just the owner of the company who wants to capitalize on the concept by speculating to get some free press. 

Here are people who wanted to look like animals.  Ivanka doesn't seem like that big a deal.  There have always been people who pay to look like someone (or something) else.  #NOTREALLYNEWS

I do not disagree that to get surgery to look like someone else is silly.  But we have heard for years that many people ask their surgeons for Kate Middletons nose, Megan Fox eyes or Scarlett Johannsons pout etc. Now it seems that Ivanka has joined this group and is now the subject of this beauty envy. Rightly so she has perfect symmetrical features.

I do agree, those women look nothing like her.  If you ask me they looked pretty even before  .

I say be happy with what God gave you. In my opinion,  It is one thing to make a minor alteration, but trying to change your identity the way some do is sad to me.

Fifty-two percent of Americans said they have a favorable view of Melania Trump. Nearly one-third, 32 percent, have an unfavorable view of her, while 3 percent have never heard of her and 12 percent have no opinion.

Trump’s bump is a 16-point increase in favorability since President Donald Trump was inaugurated, when only 36 percent of Americans saw Melania Trump favorably.

By late February 2016, Trump was seen favorably by only 24 percent of Americans, with 23 percent saying they hadn’t heard of her and another 21 percent having no opinion.
