I've had just about as much as I can take of the judgement that goes on here on this board and in the theatrical community in general. I'm prompted to post this because of the speculation (over and over and over and over ad nauseum) on Donna Murphy's abscences from Wonderful Town. (just one example of the many) Its the straw that broke this camel's back and I've really gotten tired of it all. I love so many of the personalities on this board - so fun and interesting and even the people I disagree with, I wouldn't want to wish any harm on them. I've been a performer for most of my adult life (and I'm no spring chicken) and I simply don't understand how someone who has NO idea what's going on inside a performer's head, heart, and personal life, can make broad judgements against that performer. Certainly there are people who's talents we will just never "get" or come to like as much as others, but do we have to constantly rip those personalities to shreds? I believe its all insecurities and jealousy on the part of the person who levels the accusations. I'll gladly include myself here (I am no better than anyone else here, God knows!) by saying that I realized recently that one of the reasons I probably don't like a lot of the newer pop and pop-broadway style shows (Brooklyn and Wicked come to mind as I type this) is because I will never be able to perform in them and it means less work for me as an actor, as Broadway seems hell-bent on appealing to the young masses with shows containing younger performers. Now, there is nothing wrong with that at all and my point here is that I guess I can get a little bitter sometimes because growing older in this business is not an easy thing to do all the time. (though I am trying to grow old as gracefully as possible!)
Anyone understand what I'm getting at here? My point is that we as human beings need to stop being so judgemental of the people around us and start learning to love people's mistakes and differences because THAT is what makes life interesting. If everyone was exactly like me, this planet would be boring as hell. I embrace peoples foibles and learning processes, and I hope and pray to God that I can overcome my own minor resentments toward others and learn to live in peace and harmony (corny as that sounds) with everyone around me.
I'm finished ranting now. Please return to your previously scheduled programming!LOL.
HEY!! Stop pointing out to us that we need to get lives of our own, Mister!!
*** (rising to give Redhot a standing ovation) ***

You wouldn't love me if I didn't.
Redhot...I'd give you an ovation, but these old bones of mine can't even stand up for that. I'm saluting you though...with what I can't say.

*throwing hot pink thong at redhot*
seriously Boobs, how did you know what I was wearing today?
boobs has extrasensory perception - her ni**les act as conduits to what other people are wearing...
Spider - were you whispering? we couldn't quite hear you...
"her ni**les act as conduits to what other people are wearing..."
Redhot...you just made me pee myself...now I have to go change my thong. JID do you have maybe a fushcia one I can borrow???
Redhot, how DARE you. Who died and made you God, huh? Donna Murphy is my personal friend and told me that she misses shows because Soapnet reruns All My Children and One Life To Live from 8-10, so you have some nerve turning around and saying I don't know what I'm talking about.
It's performers like you that give lazy actors a bad name, you self righteous pompous ass.
RedHot, you RULE. You rule da skool.

Oh, phew! The beginning of that post sounded like a "I'm leaving and never coming back, you jerks!" post. Good to know you'll still be here, redhot. :)
Yes, there's an influx of pop musicals, both modern (Brooklyn) and jukebox (too many to list, sadly). But that's just this season- we have yet to see if Broadway can support 3 or 4 true jukebox musicals at the same time, or if Brooklyn will even make it to December. Don't worry, redhot. There's still room for you.
