Who has tattoos?

I have partial sleeves, and I've worked in corporate America and no one even knew I had tattoos for the first year. It was only at a company picnic, when I decided to let loose and wear a t-shirt, that my bosses realized I had tattoos at which point they said, feel free to wear short sleeve shirts to work, which as a woman, was a huge relief because there were so many cute shirts wasting away in my closet. Now, I'm in a Ph.D. program, I teach and my students see my tattoos and don't really think anything of it. When I interview for faculty positions in two years, I'll wear long sleeve shirts for that process but I still don't foresee it being a problem. So this is a long-winded way of saying that there are ways to have the tattoos you want while functioning in the 'real' world.
