Who has tattoos?

I don't find tattoos on legs, feet, or hips sexy.
The ones that get me are when I see a guy walk down the street with his arms tattooed. I'm not talking about those tools with the barbed wire around their bicep, but something going up and down on their inner arm or something. MELTS me.

No worries, Priest. Some people like blondes... others brunettes.
Even though I think they're sexy - I don't think I would get a large one on MY body. Mine can only be seen if I let you.

"See, not to be rude, but I've never found them the least bit sexy. I think they can be kind of cool if they are very small and rather discrete, but I don't much care for very obvious or large ones.
But, obviously, I'm in the minoirty on this thread."
I agree.
I'm Jewish and you can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery with tattoos. Now, obviously, people are.
However, I don't think my religion plays a role with the whole tattoo thing. I just think it's kind of...weird to get something on your body that's basically...permanent. *Yes, you can technically get it removed but that's a lot of money*
I don't find them sexy at all- on anyone- and I don't support them. I will not go with my friends if/when they get a tattoo- although most don't have them.
If you want one and it means something to you, fine. I just wouldn't do such a thing to my body. Then again, I'm quite conservative in everything in life.

conservative? using words like "penis" and vagina" in your signature? I think not deary.

Posted: 3/24/07 at 5:02pmThat's interesting that you can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery with tattoos. I had never heard that.

Anastasia, if you asked anybody that knows me, they'd tell you that I was the most conservative person that they've ever met. I'm programmed as "prude" into some people's phones.
They want to "corrupt" me but it just isn't going to happen. My beliefs and views are far from what most people believe today.
And since when are penis and vagina bad words to say?

I have one...but it involves me admitting that I'm a proud geek. I have a piece of "ancient Vulcan caligraphy" (Star Trek) on my right calf. It's just black, and to anyone who doesn't know what it is, it just looks like a cool design.
I find tattoos very sexy, although I didn't always. For years, I didn't want to admit I liked them. Then, as I approached 30, I decided I didn't care. I like them, and wanted one. My love for Star Trek is the one thing in my life that's always been there and I know always will, so I thought this was a safe one.

I beliene Munk's tat says "echod" and means "one" in hebrew. I could be wrong.
Anastasia, have you never heard a conservative use the words penis or vagina? My god man, they're just body parts.
btw-what kind of superman tat is it?

It's like this one:
Shaded, dark...black and gray. I just got it a couple weeks ago and haven't taken any pictures yet.

Three:
Zodiac-related sign on my left bicep
Black and green shamrock on my upper back
Blackbird on my right hip
#42re: Who has tattoos?
Posted: 3/24/07 at 5:23pmI think my next one will be some kind of zodiac related thing as well... still looking for a cool aquarius symbol.

Echod is spelled with a "chet" and not a "chaf". The middle letter actually looks like a "lamed" to me which is why I was asking.
Munk?

Ha! That reminds me of that NANNY episode where Sylvia finds out that Fran has a discreet tattoo and tells her the very same thing.

Although this explanation is a bit cliche, I think they're unbelievably attractive if they truly mean something to the person and unbelievably unattractive if they don't. I was on a few Caribbean beaches this winter and was amazed at the number of people with tattoos - specifically, a lot of seemingly meaningless tattoo. For instance, I can't imagine Marvin the Martian has such an incredible meaning to someone that he would tattoo a giant image of him (it?) on his bicep, but sure enough, I saw a guy with that exact tattoo. Of course, there were a lot of the usual fairy + pixie dust lower back tattoos on the girls as well - I can perhaps sort of see why a girl might feel that means something to her, but they've become so common that it just looks like a silly fad. The tribal band tattoos are beyond ugly and completely derivative. Not hot at ALL.
Of course, it's your own body and everyone is free to do what they want with it, but as far as attractiveness goes, I can't imagine finding any tattoo a turn-on unless it holds a true signifiance to the person and/or it's just absolutely gorgeous.
When I have a child, I want to tattoo his or her name on my wrist. I can't imagine anything else that I like enough to tattoo on my body, but it's possible that something will come with time.
On another note, tattoos for significant others scare me SO MUCH. They almost seem to increase the chances of a breakup - or maybe we just hear about it more when those relationships don't work out.

Posted: 3/24/07 at 5:38pmHah! Case in point. I actually think that one is hilarious, but only from an outsider's perspective and definitely not something I'd want tattooed on my body.

I'm Jewish and you can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery with tattoos.
So then don't get one. But quit preaching to other people and telling them that they should adhere to your rules. I know you'll deny it, but that's exactly what you're doing.
Also, Marvin the Martian is so cute.
