Two words: How Rude... ugh, I hated that expression.

Well, I have seen many of them. They are stupid, but at least "wholesome."
Hm... maybe I AM just a touch jaded...
I've never really been into the family fare... but this comes from a guy who used to watch "Dallas" with his mom... when he was a pre-teen!

Oh no, ET I HATE FH, I was quoting my wife. You are not jaded. The acting is ridiculous and the storylines simply stupid. But, somehow all three kids love it???? And, these are kids that enjoyed Of Thee I Sing? Figure that one?
phew *wipes brow*
I thought maybe I had offended you... *grins*

On a theatre note - friends are having call backs for the Chicago Wicked "sit down" production which will follow the tour.

Dame, did you see the Pippin with Michael Arden?
Thank you DAME... they are all hussies... but the hussiest has got to be Wiley, the sheepdog.
I happen to like my dog. His name is Keppie, FYI. I'm majorly obsessed.
But Tico, your dogs are adorable as well!
I don't think Keppie is a Hussy - do we have a list of canine qualifications?

Yes i did. It was pretty good. And considering it was put on by reprise ( they usually suck), Michael Arden was fabu.
Why is Reprise! never so good? I mean, I enjoy the productions - mainly because it's my first exposure to some shows (like Company, Pippin, etc...), and the actors themselves tend to be good, even if everything else sucks.
Why is that?
Im not sure Shira. When Reprise first started they were doing staged readings of the musicals. They had big names and little rehearsal time. But since they were staged readings they could get away with alot more. Then when the first few productions were well recieved they slowly made the transition from staged readings to somewhat fully staged shows with the same small rehearsal time. The productions then got stuck somewhere in between. Too good to be staged readings but too mediocre to be full realized productions. Don't get me wrong; there have been some wonderful surprises. But for the most part ( in my opinion) pretty yucky.
I see what you mean.
I was more impressed with "A New Brain" then I was with "Pippin", to be honest.
That reading blew me away.
I hate the audiences there too. Always cranky old people.
I feel SO young when I am there. I'm young-ish, sure. But I feel like a 6 year old there. I mean, I half expect to get my cheeks pinched!

Good morning.
Dame - when I was youger I played Pippin in three different productions. (all school). I love that role. Now, I feel that I am Pippin often looking for my corner......
I am looking forward to the weekend. Les Miz with the 6 year old. I am not sure if he will make it throuhg the entire show. We will see.
TGIF
I've never seen Pippin live, but the 5th Avenue Theater is producing it this coming season... so excited...
Goodmorning Hussys,
brdlwyr; I took my 7 year old ( at the time) neice to les mis and she loved it. At th time they had a childrens sypnopsis and study guide on their website. It helped. you might want to do some googling and see if that is still around. Of course you should first start with the Les Mis website.
