As a straight man with MANY gay friends (both male and female) I have learned alot about life.
They listen to your problems and don't assume you are something you're not. They are courteous and well-behaved as well as uber-talented in the arts.

LOL, exactly. Although I think we gay men are good listeners and are generally nice, I also think many gay men are very particular about who they're nice to. It's not all hugs and kisses, there are a lot of knives in the back (and in the front) as well.

*sighs* I hate having grown up in a small town living in the fifties. I'm not even joking...ALL of my gay male friends (I go to an all-girl's college, so I can't even BEGIN to count my gay female friends) are in the closet. My town is so frigging homophobic...and people wonder why I moved three thousand miles away.

Anyway, I just recently figured out that every single one of my male friends is gay (not that I recently figured that out, I just recently realized it was EVERY ONE of them). And I asked myself, why is that? Why do I have an inability to bond with a straight man? Well, I'll tell you.

I don't know.

I ALWAYS ask for directions. Now that I think about it I do a lot of things against the stereotype.

Girls- I am in the same boat as you...just reverse.
I am looking for the girl to be the princess to my prince (that sounded really strange)
It seems all I can do lately are come up with horrible (and dangerous) choices.

At least you HAVE choices. What on earth convinced me to attend an all-women's college that isn't even close to another town??? If I didn't know me better, I'd make a lot of references to possible mental instability and/or drug use...but no. I just love my college. Damn.

Although, it makes me quite the spectacle when we DO go into town (an hour freakin' drive...I feel like I'm in "Little House on the Prarie" or something), and see all the quite lovely college boys walking around...and I find myself thinking weird things like, "Wow, he's hot! I hope he's gay!" And then realizing what an incredible number of mistakes my parents must have made in my upbringing.

M_E- I love the weekend, but I would love it more if I had a girlfriend to spend it with.

I mean I have a driver's licence so we can go out alone, I don't have much money but I have enough, and I have a car with a back seat that folds down into a bed, what more must I have?

Okay, what the hell! To the weekend! Let's celebrate...my parents are a country away, I have a driver's lisence (no car, but whatever...still counts!), I'm legal (WOO HOO! yeah, by less than two months), and dammit, I'm at college and there's booze available! I'm probably going to stay in my room and watch movies, but it's there if I wanted it! Heh. My perrogative.
